I'm wondering if it was my fault for not ordering hibachi from the demonstration grill, but I was thinking since the restaurant was empty I was going it a service ordering from a table, but my soup and salad came out after my hibachi meal. I think the waiter forgot about it because I had to so if it was still coming. When it did come, the soup looked like mostly water (see photos) and the salad was over drenched in dressing. I've never seen that much dressing in a salad my entire life. The meat wasn't hot but the fried rice really saved the day. It was salty, but I prefer mine that way. I like the location of this place so I'm hoping that next visit will be different.

I immediately knew that I was going to be happy with my decision to eat here. I started off with the Shrimp gyozas. Since most gyozas are made with pork, I cannot remember eating shrimp gyozas before, and these were phenomenal. I highly recommend that you give them a try. I was pretty hungry, so I decided to order the Sashimi Deluxe dinner. 21 pieces of sashimi seemed pretty ambitious. If I had known how thick the sushi was going to be, I probably would've gone for a smaller dinner, but I'm glad that I didn't know because it was amazing. As for dessert, I always go with Red Bean ice cream. For those of you who have never tried red bean ice cream - you have GOT to try it. I know what you're thinking...red beans and ice cream do not go together, right? Well, you are absolutely WRONG! I don't know what breed of red beans go into this delicious dessert, but it is amazing and incredibly refreshing. Do yourself a favor and drive directly to Samurai Japan...eat until you're totally full...and then order the red beans ice cream anyway. You'll thank me later!

The new design is minimalist and very clean, with white walls and white ceiling tiles throughout. Unfortunately, our table was very unsteady and wobbled every time we rested an arm or hand on it. We probably should have asked to move, but we did let the staff know before leaving. Thomas was our server. He was very pleasant, though he seemed fairly new. I asked twice for lemon for my water but never received it. He did check on us after our meals arrived to make sure everything tasted good. The food was fresh and delicious! I ordered the Fire Crunch Roll and the Alaska Roll. Both were good, but the Fire Crunch was definitely my favorite. My son ordered the salmon hibachi and received a very generous portion. After we finished eating and requested a small takeout container, we sat talking for several more minutes. When Thomas didn't return with our check, we eventually walked to the counter to pay. He then said he could take care of it at the table, but we were already standing there and ready to leave. It made the ending feel a little awkward, and in the confusion, I accidentally left my container of sushi on the bar. Such a bummer! Overall, we had a good meal, and the food was definitely the highlight. With a little more attention to the service details and that wobbly table, the experience could have been even better.
