When we first entered the location, we were greeted by a very nice waitress. The bathrooms were right in the front, and they were very clean. We stopped in just to get a few sushi rolls. I got the veggie roll, which was delicious, and our server surprised us with a second row. This is a must-stop if you're in the Hoover location.

Service was better than in the past. Not much of a wait. We ate at the Chinese side because the hibachi area was very hot. Booths are super tight for anyone larger One of our menus was really filthy Silverware only included a fork and no knife. Server was kind, big drinks and straws set out already. Small plate set out with appetizers Portions were minuscule in comparison to the price

It was good. Basic hibachi grill, complete with flaming onions and a good time. Good for date or groups. They sit you at a large table with others. Chef puts on a show. I notice uneven portions of rice and veg given to folks but hey, that's life. Cocktail just ok. I'd eat here again. Walkable from hotel in Galleria.

We went last Sunday the service was good the cook was good but we had too talk to him he wasn't very entertaining but the food was great

I absolutely love this place. The wait can be kind of tedious, but it's with it. We came here on a Sunday for my nephews birthday. The wait was about 45 minutes for the hibachi side. Let's talk about portion size. OMG you with plenty of leftovers. I ordered a kids shrimp meal for my daughter and as you can see in the picture it looks like an adult plate! The sushi is always good here to. If you come on the weekends be prepared for a wait, but like I said the entertainment is well worth it!

This is my all time favorite hibachi restaurant. I've been eating here for around 13 years and the service has always been top notch. They have a Chinese and a Japanese (hibachi) side to the restaurant. A pro tip: if you love hibachi but have seen the show too many times, if you don't like eating with strangers or if you're tired of the chefs throwing shrimp at your face. I'd suggest going to the Chinese side where it's normal booth seating and ordering hibachi from there. They prepare it in the kitchen and bring it out to you as a finished product. I've tried everything on the hibachi menu. Everything is delicious but when I want to splurge, my go to is fillet and scallops. Don't forget to ask for yum yum sauce (orange). It makes the meal for me.

Stopped here in on Sunday to have dinner with the family and I wasn't sure of what to expect. Other restaurants like this around here have disappointed me in the past but I was willing to give them a try. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and the server seated us and asked for our drink order. The menu was your standard hibachi menu. We started out with the soup and salad. The soup was really good and had just a little kick to it. The salad was your average salad. We had the steak, chicken, scallops, shrimp and your vegetables and fried rice. Our cook was very entertaining and made sure we had enough food. Our portions were a nice size. He did a great job in preparing our food and made sure there was no cross contamination. I have found a new place to enjoy the hibachi grill experience.

    Great quick meal!

Great food and staff. Would definitely come again for group gatherings! The caterpillar, red dragon and tiger crunch sushi were very tasty. I liked the Singapore noodles and would add that to my regular order menu. This place is definitely worth a try among the regular selection within the mall area. Come at any time!

Huge place with great ambience. Great service and the sushi was fresh and fast! A full bar also, if you're having a get together.

My moo goo gai pan had barely any chicken in it. There were huge chunks of vegetables and it was way too starchy. It was like they were trying to compensate for the lack of protein in it. I haven't ordered from them this year, but I did tonight. Listen the economy is rough for everyone but I paid $15 for this chicken and they used maybe 1/8 of a chicken breast in it. Not cool. Hate to leave the negative review, but I need to warn people that they're using filler food to complete the orders and charging more. What's not cool anywhere these days is paying more and getting way less than just a few years ago. All of us are working hard to earn money and it just feels so disappointing to not get what you pay for, especially when you're paying more than you used to. I don't know who to blame for this. If I wanted a carton of vegetables I would have eaten a frozen bag for $2.50 tonight.

Even though I didn't dine in, I appreciated the beautiful decor and the attention to detail. Gone from their early days during the pandemic when they were take out only to their newly renovated and larger dining area. There's nice bar with stools nearly centered in the restaurant. Employees are more friendly than you can imagine. Located on 280 near the Greystone entrance, YYST is on the right in a small quaint strip shopping area that's raised "above" 280. So if you're driving by you can see YYST by looking up. There's no outdoor seating, but plenty of tables and chairs inside with seating at the bar. They are quite proud of their Yelpies 2025 award for "Beloved Birmingham Business" which sits at the front entrance. Their menu is comprehensive with the right amount of dishes to satisfy. Every "Thai" place seems to have their own take on most dishes and YYST is no different. Their "recommended" entrees include Mango fish, Pad Thai Chakangrao, Massamun Short Rib, Pad Thai Wings and Panang New York Strip. Then they also have "Signature Plates" whose menu descriptions had my mouth watering. There's also stir fry, curries, salads, and even a lunch menu. Since I wasn't dining, I was going to do my litmus test and try their version they call Beef Drunken Uncle noodle. I also ordered their Fresh Basil Shrimp Rolls, and Bangkok market fried rice. I waited at the bar for about 10 minutes when my packaged meals arrived. I was offered a glass of cool water as I waited at the bar. The rolls were wrapped in saran wrap and I would guess were probably made a couple of days ago. Nothing wrong with that except I got unlucky and rice paper wrapper was almost crunchy. They were a little heavy on the use of lettuce, but each had 4 large fresh shrimp. The taste wasn't anything spectacular BUT their version of the dipping peanut sauce saved it. Yom Yom Yom! The fried rice was delicious. Tossed in a wok with eggs, onions, chinese broccoli and their house sauce, I had beef added as the protein and it was delicious. My Drunken noodle was very good! This traditional street food inspired dish is a classic. Wide noodles tossed with snap beans, garlic, onions, bell peppers with thai chili and basil, their version is quite good! It had great flavor and an excellent representation of the drunken noodle. Next time I might have to pay extra for a fried egg on top. Yom Yom Yom Yom! I'm glad I finally visited YYST. I am looking forward to returning and this time dining in. The Panang New York Strip and Mango Fish have my name on them!
