We love Ichiban Express. I've been a semi regular customer for the past four years since I moved to Callera and my kids and I really enjoy the food here. Everything is always hot and fresh, and the sushi is very good. I usually get the steak hibachi dinner or a special dragon roll. Both are delicious options. My daughter normally gets the chicken hibachi and loves that as well. I'm not sure if they have indoor dining anymore. I know it had closed for a while during Covid but it may be back open now. The service is always really fast and efficient, and we've never gotten a wrong order. The prices are a little higher than other restaurants in the area, but I think it's well worth it given the portion size and the quality of the food! Go check them out! read more

Ichiban is always quick and good. Definitely not a place you want to dine in despite having a few tables available. However, they are consistently quick about preparing To Go/Pick Up Orders and the food is consistent. Keep in mind that it's not open on Mondays. read more

We usually really like this place. The portions are huge. However, tonight, we ordered online and accidentally hit "add" twice on a sushi roll. It wasn't noticed until we placed the order (with the option to pay at the restaurant) and my husband was on his way to get it. I immediately called them to have them take it off. The lady said she would call me back once it was removed (which is weird). I gave her my number. They ended up calling my husband and he ignored the call since it was a New York number. My husband got to the restaurant to pick up our food and they refused to remove the sushi roll! He tried to explain what happened and that I had called immediately, but they refused. I'm just speaking from personal experience, today was my first time going in here. First initial thought ? The place smelled bad, I'm talking about BAD BAD. I usually would've walked out by the smell of it, however I'm all about reviews. The place has good reviews so I figured I might as well ignore the smell and just try it. I got the Sesame chicken thinking I would actually get chicken. The "chicken" was not chicken. I'm pretty sure the chicken was just imitation. So I'm sure all there meats are the same way. Either I'm hungry or this food is pretty tasty. Both are true! I think this restaurant has been around for a while. However, it just never crosses my mind until Monday and they are actually closed on Mondays. Tried again today and pleased with the price, taste and portion sizes. I went it in wanting to order the Hibachi Steak but decided on the Mongolian Beef. I love all the green onions mixed in as well as the fried rice. Oh and the Egg Roll was a two thumbs up. The hot and sour soup was pretty good. It was more sour than hot. It would have been perfect if it had more hot. It was full of yummy veggies & chicken. It wasn't quite as good as Mr. Lin's in Helena, but it was closer to drive and get it from Ichiban Express and we thought we would give it a try. We also had shrimp tempura rolls and California rolls w/cream cheese. That was, "meh" at best. I won't order sushi from them again. Now, the sesame chicken was huge! It was pretty good and had lots of fried rice with it. You know those styrofoam to go trays? Well, it was in one of those. 1/2 was chicken fried rice & the other 1/2 was full of sesame chicken. Two people could make a meal of it. And, since my sushi was not so good, we did! I give this place a 3. The lady at the take out window was not a customer service specialist. I don't think she even wanted to be there. I order through Uber for a ginger salad and I received 3 small little pieces of carrot & the rest Lettuce with the 2 dressings on the side. The dressing was really good I give it 4 stars but I'm very disappointed in this so called ginger salad. I took pictures of what it's supposed too look like, so you can compare. Also, I asked for Shrimp Tempura which is 6 to 8 fried long shrimp but they sent me a wrap. It was okay but I didn't order that. Next my Egg Fried Rice was missing the egg. I dug to the bottom of my container and I receive 2 little bits of egg. ( see the picture) However, the Egg Fried Rice was not gummy and they didn't add my onion's that I requested. I give it 2.5 stars. My order of Lo Mein Noodles was alright but a little too greasy. But, I added the spicy pepper sauce and it was good. I give it 3 stars. Upon arrival I noticed their health score of 97. I'm weird like that all of their food is cooked when order. Prices were different than advertised online. Sushi was warm and mushy. Chicken teriyaki is covered by a large, soggy piece of lettuce. Large portions, just not very tasty. My family loves Asian food so much that we frequently visit a nearby restaurant buffet. We really enjoy the benefit of the food varieties in one sitting for a low price. I didn't want to have buffet alone today so I decided to order a hibachi steak takeout lunch from my local Ichiban Express. It was a pretty decent portion & tasted good. I like most egg rolls so these didn't disappoint. It was still piping hot when I got it home but I couldn't even eat half so I'm having the rest for dinner. My husband and I have been looking for a new place too eat Chinese food near us. After much disappointment I think we finally found it. I give Ichiban in Calera Al a four plus rating. The flavor of the shrimp fried rice was really good and portion size was great, it could of used more green onions though. The egg rolls and egg drop soup also did not disappoint.
