Blue Sushi Sake Grill - A Flavorful Happy Hour Gem I discovered Blue Sushi Sake Grill thanks to a Facebook post highlighting their Happy Hour, and I'm so glad I decided to check it out. From the food to the drinks to the atmosphere, this spot exceeded my expectations. Food * Mango Crab Rangoon: A standout appetizer with a perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors. Each bite was a playful mix of textures and taste. 8.5/10 * Cloud Nine 2.0: This roll was a delightful surprise. The flavors blended beautifully, and the Serrano peppers added just the right amount of heat. 9/10 Drinks * Samurai Saketini: Light, smooth, and refreshing--a true gem for saketini lovers. 9.5/10 * Bluetini: A house martini that hits the sweet spot--not too sweet, with a natural blueberry infusion and smooth vodka base. Perfectly balanced. 8/10 Atmosphere Walking in feels like stepping into Tokyo. The décor is thoughtful and immersive. I sat at the bar this visit, but with warmer weather coming, I'm excited to try the outdoor seating next time. Service The bartender was doing an impressive job single-handedly, which speaks to her skill and dedication. I'm curious to see how service might flow with additional bar staff on hand. Price Happy Hour pricing is exactly what you'd hope for. The only menu item I tried outside of Happy Hour was the Cloud Nine 2.0 roll. Here's what I ordered: * Bluetini: $7.75 * Samurai Saketini: $7.50 * Mango Crab Rangoon: $6.75 * Cloud Nine 2.0: $15.50 Bottom Line: Whether it's the inventive rolls, the expertly crafted cocktails, or the immersive Tokyo-inspired atmosphere, Blue Sushi Sake Grill is a must-visit for sushi and cocktail enthusiasts. I'll definitely be back--and next time, I'll snag a seat outside!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. We travel from two hours away just to eat here for my birthday dinner. Imho BEST SUSHI IN ALABAMA. I've had sushi and sake from all over the world. This is just top notch. Yes, it's a chain, but an exclusive one. Excellent service and ambiance. It's a vibe inside for sure. Don't miss out on the happy hour specials.

There's nothing like a sushi date night . I was feeling adventurous and wanted to try a different roll and I settled on the Triller and boy am I glad I did. That was sooooo good! My only gripe is I wish it was bigger. The rolls are smaller than average. Service was ok. I think they were a little understaffed but the wait to be serviced and getting our food wasn't too bad. Always a good time at Blue Sushi.

Blue Sushi Sake Grill was such a fun and beautiful spot--definitely a place I'd go back to. We started with the shishito peppers and two types of edamame: the spicy garlic and the classic garlic salt. Both were absolutely delicious and a great way to kick things off. For drinks, we tried the Sake-tini (a martini made with sake), which was smooth and really well-balanced, along with sake on the side--both were excellent. Food-wise, we ordered a variety of sushi rolls, including the Lion King roll and a couple of others, plus one of their bowl-style dishes. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and clearly well-prepared. We ordered a lot, and not a single item disappointed. The service was good, the atmosphere was lively and inviting, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. If you're looking for fresh sushi, great drinks, and a fun vibe in Birmingham, this is definitely a spot worth visiting again.

Friday lunch. I think this is a great addition to The Summit since Abhi has moved now. There's quite a few locations of Blue Sushi, so it's not mom-and-pop. It's a pretty extensive menu, even if you don't do raw fish or sushi there's certainly plenty of options. Service was quick, no complaints. They have a happy hour menu that runs for all of lunch, we ordered most everything from here. The brussels sprouts lacked a bit of flavor, but the calamari and accompanying dipping sauce were very good. We had several sushi rolls. I'm anti-cream cheese in sushi, and they were happy to accommodate that. I must say, I would probably choose this place over P.F. Changs, and I used to be a big fan.

The happy hour is a tough deal to beat at Blue Sushi Sake. One really nice feature is it runs until 6:30, so you don't have to jump out of work early if you don't want to. I tried the Samurai Martini and it was very good. The house red was also pretty good. The bar is hopping during happy hour so it is a fun vibe. With that said, the bar staff tend to get a little overloaded, so be patient or order everything at once.

Was greeted by a host, I found the restaurant to be very inviting. (The Hist needs some work, not really friendly) Love the decor. Has a positive vibe atmosphere. The staff is engaging with the customers. Had the coconut crab soup 9out of 10 Delicious yummmmmm. Had the house salad with Sesame honey dressing really nice 8 out of 10, Had the itchy sea-bass sushi there were only 2pc however so good 8 out 10, also the thriller sushi. 8 out of 10... The wait time for my meal, was ridicule long. Food was very good.

UberEats had a buy one get one one item free. Sushi was packed beautifully and I was given chopsticks, soy sauce, wasabi and ginger. But the blue crunch roll had cilantro in it. It was on the description but I must have missed it. I do like cilantro but it was not tasty to have it in my sushi. I noticed this place does interesting flavor combinations with their sushi but the cilantro thing I wasn't a fan of. It's an herb that takes control of a dish and that's all you taste. I couldn't taste the seafood or anything else in it. All I tasted was cilantro. The red crunch roll was good but overall the sushi I ordered lacked the sushi taste of ingredients coming together that work well. Sometimes classic is good.

I've already been to Blue Sushi Sake Grill in the Summit a handful of times, and I have enjoyed it every time. Today, however, I was on a mission to try their vegetarian/vegan options that my vegetarian friend spoke highly of. We went at about 5:30 pm to try to catch their happy hour (which is always a steal--go then if you are going). They were PACKED--it was going to be an hour-and-a-half wait unless we wanted to sit at the bar, so we chose the bar. We were able to order pretty quickly once we sat down. Between my partner and I, we got a China Doll drink, one beer, the crispy Brussels sprouts, the Eden Roll, the Thai Hippie Roll, and the Lion King Roll (non-vegan). This was a LOT of food, but with the Happy Hour prices, it totaled to just under $50, which is insane for a nice restaurant and good food. I've attached photos of the menu, the cocktail, and the rolls--the pictures don't do them justice because the presentation was very pretty and appealing in real life. The staff was all very friendly, and the vibe inside the restaurant is so swanky and hip. There's a mix between traditional decorations and modern twists that blends well. The place was pretty loud because of how many people were there, but I could still hear those near me well. My main grievance was that it seemed a little understaffed for how busy they were-- by the time we were ready to pay, we waited maybe 10-15 minutes for our check. Again, no shade to the staff; they were all working hard. As for the food, it was fantastic. I've never intentionally picked a specialty vegan roll anywhere, so BSSG's options were a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend the items that we ordered. At times, some of the ingredients felt a little disproportionate in the roll, but it's not that deep (e.g., in the Eden Roll, sometimes there was a lot more salt in one bite than in the next). All of the vegetarian/vegan substitutes were really good! Taste & temperatures were good for every item, and I would LOVE this place's options if I were a vegetarian/vegan! 5/5!

This was my first time dining at Blue Sushi and I was pretty impressed! The inside is funky and well decorated. We made a reservation since I've heard it can have high wait times on weekends. What we ordered: Crispy Rice Cake: I had very high hopes for this appetizer but it unfortunately didn't live up to my expectations. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was just way too much rice. The ratio of rice to the tuna on top just didn't match. It's only 4 pieces and the majority of it is rice. Personally, it would be best if the rice was spread thinner and topped with a tad more tuna. Hotel Cali: my FAVORITE! This is a fried roll that's topped with a sweet and spicy chili sauce. It may not be traditional sushi but I do love a fired roll. Green Eggs And Hama: this roll was super tasty! It was my second favorite of what we ordered. Shiitake To Me: a vegan roll filled with shiitake mushrooms. If you love mushrooms, this one is for you. Overall, I think Blue Sushi has a great concept with such a unique execution. While I'm not vegan, I appreciate the large vegan selection on the menu. They also prioritize sustainability through their Conscious Earth program which is awesome!

I'm glad this wasn't my first experience with this restaurant. I came one Saturday night with my boyfriend and sat at our preferred spot, the bar. Unfortunately, this seemed to be a mistake. Our service was practically nonexistent. But, as always the food was amazing. Thankfully, I have been here several times and know this isn't the norm... at least I'm hoping this isn't the new norm

Went here on a friend date and the atmosphere is really cool! It is laid back but you're not out of place with heals and a nice dress. We came in athleisure and I did feel a little under dressed but think that i just don't get out much. anyways, let's start with the apps. Omg the lettuce wraps and the rangoons were incredible! It was a lot of food but didn't fill us up too much. The wraps were so flavorful and had several toppings that complemented the hibachi chicken. The rangoons came with a mango salsa which was sooo yummy. I grabbed a drink with boba it was so refreshing and lasted the entire dinner. I got a roll but cannot remember the name of it. It was friend and delicious. Can wait to come back and try another one!

Cool and modern ambiance and kind staff. Sushi is very average and I was a bit disappointed with the amount of raw fish they gave. The drinks are great though, especially the China Doll!
