Overall 4.5 out of 5…read more Can honestly say, I've never tried something like these Mofongo Tacos. Very unique and tasty. Although the pork was a bit dry, the avocado and chocolate sauce rounded it out. Got a ham and egg burrito for my sons and they both enjoyed splitting it. Was VERY large. Wife enjoyed her Puerto Rican Bowl a lot. I personally thought the pork, again was dry, but she didn't seem to mind. Ended it with a lava cake. We ordered it after eating everything and it took A LONG time. Granted, that just means it's fresh. Just didn't expect it to take 20+ minutes. So PRO TIP: Don't order it after eating. Order it early.

The chocolate ketchup was surprisingly decent, but I wasn't standing up yelling, "GET THE SCIENTIST!". Somebody put chocolate in ketchup and I handled it pretty well. Also got an Old Fashioned with chocolate dripped around it. It was fine. The atmosphere was hectic. I went alone, so I was just sitting there holding my little chocolate whiskey while everybody else had people who knew where they were. Couldn't eat upstairs either. I really wanted to. Don't know whats up there. Writing this out, I realize "this place won me over" might be generous. We reached a ceasefire. I'd give it 3.5 stars, rounding to 4 because I ordered the most basic thing available and can't make that everybody's problem. Might come back next time I'm in San Juan and actually participate in the concept.

When we walked in there was a long line and hardly any tables available to sit. Thankfully, the line gave us ample time to read through the menu and decide on what we wanted. For reference, there are two different lines. One for the bakery items and the other for actual food, sandwiches, etc. The food is good, but very heavy. Honestly, the place wasn't really my vibe. It was way too busy and chaotic.

The good thing first- the line goes through fairly quickly considering how busy they were the day I was there, Sunday July 19, 2026, and parking was plentiful. Service was fine, cleanliness was good. The bad. Way overpriced for this region. There are plenty of bakeries in Puerto Rico offering the same things at half the price. The worst. The food quality sucked. Jugo de China Natural usually means squeezed to order. It was squeezed ahead of time and served with ice without being asked. Fresh squeezed orange juice is best served room temp. A good one will still be a little foamy on the top with very low acidity Ham and Cheese on Mayorca Bread- a staple of PR breakfast. Traditionally served pressed with a little powdered sugar on top that caramelizes a little because of the pressing. This one had a ton of floury tasting powdered sugar on the top and bottom of the top and inside the top and bottom of the bread, not normal at all. And for whatever reason, mine was served with the insides of the bread out side but I saw others that weren't served that way. So strange. And the ham was oddly pale. Also, no knives or forks to be found, so the extra sugar was extra confusing Quesitos- I ordered 4 to take out. I should not have. They went straight to the trash. The dough was severely under baked and soggy yet the filling was dry and crumbly without barely any sugar on top to offset the cream cheese. Arroz con Dulce- overly sweet and watery. Also went straight to the trash. Should be a little thicker from the starch of the rice combining with the sweet milk as it cooks. It tasted like they cooked the rice separately and then added cinnamon, evaporated milk and a ton of sugar without heating it. Not even a hint of vanilla to be found. For $44 dollars before tip. It was straight disrespectful to tourists and locals alike. I hope they improve because there is nothing worst than a popular spot resting on the laurels of a good location PS- The Habichuelas Escabeche were good.

Hands down, this is the best gelato I've ever had, and I say that as someone who tried every gelato spot I could find in Rome and Florence last summer. Somehow, this place in Puerto Rico blew them all out of the water. The variety of flavors is fantastic, the staff are incredibly friendly, and they let you sample everything. Honestly, the hardest part was picking a flavor because they were all so good. The portions are generous, and the shop is cute and colorful. Even with so many customers, the staff stayed calm, organized, and handled the volume extremely well. The line may look intimidating, but it moves pretty quickly. Trust me, it's worth the wait! My favorite was the Chocolate, Pistachio & Kataifi.

The place is so pretty and there are many flavors to choose from. They offer free samples which is great because my kids never know what to get. I tried the hazelnut mousse flavor and it was delicious. It had crunchy pieces throughout and was overall a 10/10.

Oh boy... this was a 10/10!…read more After spending a long, hot day exploring Old San Juan with the kids, we stopped by Cortés ChocoBar in Condado for something cold, and it was exactly what we needed. We ordered three of their frozen chocolate drinks, and every single one was absolutely delicious. Thankfully, it wasn't busy when we stopped by, so it was the perfect place to cool off and take a break from the heat. The café had a modern, inviting atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I asked if one of the frozen drinks could be split for the kids, and although they didn't split it for us, they happily gave us two extra cups so we could divide it ourselves. It was a simple gesture that we really appreciated. The frozen chocolate drink was rich, creamy, refreshing, and perfectly chocolatey without being overly sweet. Even the whipped cream was delicious, especially with the chocolate pieces on top. Everyone in our group loved it, and it quickly became our favorite sweet treat of the trip. Whenever we're craving something cold and chocolatey during our stay in Puerto Rico, this will definitely be our go-to spot. We can't wait to come back and try their bonbons before we head home!

I've bought them at the grocery store for my mother over the years when I couldn't find Menier. I was hoping to see some unique desserts at Chocobar Cortés. Let's just say that the chocobar at this location was not what I was expecting. It's like an express version of their original one in Old San Juan. This is located in the lobby of the Condado Palm Hotel. There are 2 entrances. Don't make the same mistake we did by trying to access at street level. That door is locked. You'll need to enter through the hotel lobby. The service is very slow here. There was only one other person there. We ordered a box of 6 chocolates and payed for it. I'm guessing he was making a drink for the other guest because he asked us to wait a few minutes. It ended up being longer so he told his colleague (who just came back from a break) to make up the chocolate box for us. Unfortunately, it took even longer as this other guy was more interested in the 2 young girls who just walked in. The chocolate bonbons were good, but nothing unique. It's the same artisan chocolates that you see everywhere for the same high price. Perhaps this location is better for their specialty cocktails in the evening time. I was looking forward to trying the choco-latte at some point. I doubt there will be a next time.
