Little creek running through the park. Taken from Alta website (the company re-designing area).

Sugg Farm Park, officially "Jefferson L. Sugg Farm at Bass Lake" is a a piece of 112-117 acres that the town of Holly Springs bought back in 2012. Prior to the new "park" plans, the piece of land was all farmland (house and cattle fields), and still houses several farm features including a horse stable and the previous owner's home. There isn't much to the large green space, no playground facilities or public bathrooms. The main {current!} feature for this plot of land is to host private events, such as the one I attended this past weekend: Beericana. Luckily, if you've got tots or need some park "entertainment", the land distantly connects to Bass Lake Park, which has an existing parks and recreation facility. Among the events the town hosts here include: The annual Spring Fling, July 5th celebrations and HollyFest. But have no fear, this patch of land is a work in progress. Rumor has it that it will one day be the home of an "Education/Adventure Park". With the hope to bring the community in with their large event space, mountain bike trails, a dog park, raptor rehabilitation, a ropes course, a nature based playground, bouldering, a barn for farm animals, demonstration crop areas, a community garden, and several miles of trails. Of course, this all is yet to be seen. Until then, I can say that Sugg Farm Park makes for a great special events area, while the ONLY downside is the location has one way in and one way out along a narrow road. Arriving and exiting can make for a very slow process, especially since the road into the park is the same as the pedestrian walkway.

Most times I like coming here for events but sometimes they don't seem prepared for the number of attendees. The 4th of July was one of those occasions. Not enough things for the kids to do so the lines were so long it wasn't really worth it. They should charge at least a dollar per attraction to try and cut back on the number of kids waiting in line, and use the money to get more rides and inflatables. Also Tere wasn't enough port a potties and no hand washing station which was gross considering they are selling food. They should invest in actual bathrooms here some day. The good thing is events here are usually free and they don't charge for parking, but they really need to prepare better for the huge crowds that show up.
