Toddler park 2-5 years old
Xuan-Lise C.

Pro tip: Wood mulch = wear closed toe shoes In order to not loose our sanity indoors we decided to start venturing out on weekends to our local parks. This was definitely a unique park, it's a wooden structure. You can tell it's well loved by the community, there were lots of signs around explaining that this park is upkept by volunteers. I loved that it looked like a giant version of kids building blocks with some cute murals and fun cutouts. It is split into two main sections one for under 5 and one for adventurous toddlers and up. We also loved that it's a fenced park, so no fear your little one will run out into the parking lot. There were so many neat structures that we know we barely experienced all there is to do, we didn't even make to the trail! I love knowing that even when we go back, there will be lots of new things to see. Only thing that would make this a 5 star park, wood mulch made it a bit tricky to push our stroller around and there weren't too many benches close to the action for a parent to plop down. The paint was also starting to chip and fade, I can't wait to see it when it is in a freshly painted glory! Covid wise it was easy to spread out and avoid other folks. Breakdown: Toddler section 4 baby bucket swings A climbing structure shaped like a train A half court for basketball Main section 7(?) Swings 1 ADA swing 1 Tire swing Huge climbing structure A sand pit Spinning section So many climbing things that were a little too advanced for our 2 year old, i.e monkey bars, etc. Lots of tables under covered sections, it looked like they had been used for birthday parties earlier that day. There were open restrooms didn't go in though.

Incredible park with something for everyone. Love love loved this park. It is in a nice shady area,…read morethere's playhouses, multiple picnic/patio table areas for parties and people to eat meals and/or snacks. It also has a big range of play equipment for different age ranges. Did I mention that I love this park? There are cool statues inspired from fantasy themes like a lion with a squirrel body or a tortoise with a hare's head as well as a giant sea monster on a hill, complete with a nest of eggs. There's also an area with water spray thingies. That's my best attempt at describing them. They had been off for the winter but they're back on since a couple weeks ago! The kids love it especially with the weather heating up!

"Can we go to the dinosaur park, mommy?" I don't think he fully gets the difference right now…read more There is a large dragon sculpture that kids can climb on but there's no dinosaurs. The park is in heavy usage and it seems like due to this, likely, there are often things broken here. A bench, a fence, etc. There are multiple different play areas and a water play area. It's a delightful park to visit. We have played here for two hours straight. There is a covered picnic area that you can rent and people often do so for kids birthdays. The variety of play experience make this play so popular - sandbox with play excavators, climbing areas, platform rocks, a tree house area, dragon area, water play, slides and Roller slides, instruments, young kids play areas. This park is recommended (by me).

You can see from my photos the ness teenagers left and 2 teenagers that wouldn't leave the tunnel…read more They also used strong language and dropped multiple f bombs. It wasn't until the 5th fuck that I said something. My 4 year old autistic child just wanted to go through the tunnel. Very disappointed, this used to be a nice family friendly park

Very nice new (2018) playground in Wake County. Located next to Salem Schools, and a small path…read moreconnects this park to the Wake Zone Espresso coffee shop. There is a .5 mike path around a pond adjacent to the park. There are also three picnic tables next to the playground. A small dedicated parking lot with about 25 spots is adjacent. At this time, there is no bathroom available. The playground itself is cute and well thought out. It is a Train theme and the rubbery ground has some printed train tracks and other related pictures. There are three structures -- one for younger children, one for older children, and one for climbing. There are also two kid swings (no infant swings) and one circle swing more than one child can play on. There is no accessible swing in this playground. There's a small fake pond with a crawling log and a stone to climb. Overall, it's a nice playground with good, new equipment. There's a spinning cage to play in for the sensory inclined. There's a "ticket window" for some imaginative play, as well as a small place to sit with a table inside the play area itself. The playground is not fenced but is adjacent to a fenced soccer field. Equipment was hot in the hot summer sun, but that is to be expected when it is 95+ degrees out. The playground is small but has a lot to do, and it would be easy to keep an eye on more than one child at the same time in the space. Lack of a bathroom is annoying, but another excuse to go grab a coffee at the Wake zone then come back to let the kids play more. I look forward to the future greenway connection to Davis Drive playground.
