I've been to their nutley location before but so glad they opened up in Livingston ! So much closer to where I am. The vibes here are so so cute and pretty ! Perfect for picture taking especially when it's early ! Luckily we got there early as their first customers. By the time we were leaving it was starting to get packed. The sweet time to get there is definitely within the first hour or two of opening. According to our waitress, the rushes are typically at 10am and 1pm. Anyway. We ordered an omelette (build your own) and the chicken salad tartine. The portion size is perfect for something light. 10/10 will be returning

The place was really cute. I loved the decor! The food was a bit pricey for the portions but was delicious. While they had spots for charging and wifi connection I would not recommend this as a place you can work from, the tables are tiny, could barely fit my laptop with the food. And the music was really loud, me and my husband had a hard time holding a conversation without feeling the need to talk loudly. The service was great though.

I heard about this cafe located in Nutley but decided to try out the Livingston location. The service was friendly! We originally had a table outside but upon arrival asked to be switched inside because it was raining and it was no issue. The restaurant is to beautiful! There's these beautiful flower murals all around and a beautiful flower tree in the middle of the restaurant. We tried a bit of everything. I got a vanilla iced chai and my friend got a lemonade. I really enjoyed that my chai didn't taste artificially flavored. My friend and I then got the chicken and waffles, Mac and cheese, and nitro fires. The chicken and waffles were so good. The chicken had a hot honey like flavor but the syrup on the waffle was sweet so it was a great flavor balance. I have to give this place credit for their Mac and Cheese because MAC at restaurants is hard to do right and it was pretty decent so I was impressed. I like the flavor of the nitro fries. They were interesting in that they came with a coffee Cajun dipping sauce. Very unique flavoring between the fries and sauce. However, I would have liked to see the fries a bit crispier. They were a bit soggy, but the flavor made up for it. The buffalo empanada had great flavor and oozed cheese, but I was a bit disappointed it wasn't heated up thoroughly.

great cozy little brunch spot with the cutest decor and coffee drinks - I love the original location in Nutley. service was wholesome and attentive, took great care of us. ample parking and would like to try other items from the menu in the future.

I'm sorry to say that this is the third time I have been here and it was just a horrible experience. The service has always been slow but today it was even slower. They need more staff or who they have working now needs way more experience. A long time after the initial order my son had ordered a breakfast burrito but they said they no longer had it. Mind you this was way after initial order. He then order the smash burger with eggs but they forgot to put it in. They brought it later on the side with no explanation just a 'I don't know why'. My son didn't really like the burger so he didn't eat it. My wife ate the eggs and immediately after felt nauseous. When we told the server she goes 'oh I'm so sorry' and then walks away. No manager or anything. When we got home everyone started to feel bad. My daughter even threw up! Something is very wrong with the food now. Guys get your act together. You've been open for a while now. There is no excuse.

Honestly I'm so bummed! Found this place online and thought it looked so cute. Inside design is beautiful, but when I got my drink I was so disappointed. As a chai lover, I got my usual iced chai with whole milk. It honestly tastes like pool water. I hate to leave a bad review but it was honestly the most brutal tasting chai I've ever had.

4 drinks took 30 minutes. Cute spot, nice staff, but we won't be back. Would be a good spot to do a work on a laptop.

The Mrs. and I started with the mussels (white wine and butter sauce which was very good) and the arugula salad with apples and goat cheese... SO good! My wife ordered the roasted Branzino (butterflied, deboned & served with salmoriglio sauce, sautéed spinach, green beans, and tomatoes which she loved. I opted for the Tagliatelle duck, duck Bolognese, tomatoes in a light cream and pomodoro sauce. Great dish I would order again anytime. Service is always great here... A bit loud, but I guess some people would call that "ambiance." Still a great BYOB we always enjoy.

This is very good and on the sweet side. Next came the Caesar Salad. What was different about it is there was a hint of basil and instead of croutons they did a dusting of fresh bread crumbs which was unique. Our meals were the rigatoni and a meatball. And WOW what a beautiful sized meatball. It was a bit too salty but my daughter liked it and that's all we care about. I had the linguini and clams which was good. The clams needed some better cleaning since I had a few with some sand in them. Stand out dish was the Fettuccine with shrimp. Had a nice pesto sauce mixed in with the Alfredo sauce and it really made the dish pop. Shrimp were good and cooked to perfection.

I honestly need way more than just five stars …read more.. Made a reservation for 5pm . Showed up at 4:25 , waited about 5 minutes and they accommodated us right the way . ( place was packed and busy ) . Service is definitely a 10 out of 10 from the minute with walk in the door . Beautiful decor , friendly and welcoming hostess . We were seated and right the way a gentleman named Mathias came to serve us , what an amazing personality , friendly , knowledgeable of the menu , efficient.. I can just keep on going . We were also helped by a lady named Jenny whom I found out later is the manager of the place . She even got me a special hook/stand to hang my pocketbook instead of leaving on the floor . The food was ordered and served within 30 minutes , to cooked to perfection. We had the Chuleta / pina . Pork chops with pineapple and caramelized onions , pollo rumbero - chicken with prosciutto and cheese in a white sauce , and boiled yucca . Food was spectacular, complements to the chef , table was always clean and service was beyond outstanding from beginning to end . Team work , great atmosphere, great food . Can't ask for anything better !!! Oh, and the was a drink called el guayabero , made from guava poured and rum that is to die for ... If you're in the area I would definitely recommend this amazing experience . Thank you Mathias , Jenny and the rumba Cubana staff for making it a great night ..

Tops is the tops of all NJ diners. We had a special event…read morenear by, needed a good place to celebrate and eat well. Based on prior experiences, we made a reservation which saved us. Place gets packed despite the many tables. Service was amazing, food was great (slightly higher prices than others, but the quality execution and quantity balanced it out). We had cornbread (very good), fries (was fine), chicken parm with pasta (we asked for vodka sauce which they accommodated for small charge), fried chicken (must have), churrasco steak breakfast and turkey club. No false notes that we could tell. Some standouts were mashed potatoes (really good), cornbread (toasted and slight sweet, with strawberry butter which was wild), whole wheat bread toasted (it was good I tell you) and fried chicken (it will haunt me in my hungry moments). Didn't think a diner would impact me as much, but they over delivered. Go, but make a reservation unless you want to wait.

READ FULL REVIEW!!!…read more March 2026: First time at this establishment was just ok. Hosted a very small get-together here (5 guest). Atmosphere was nice. Music was wayy too loud to hear the person you're sitting next to. Food was tasty and fresh. Coffee was good with great creamer selection (at the time). Our server was my least favorite part of this experience. He was over the top with his energy and upscale tactics (pushy with getting us to order extra drinks and appetizers despite declining). I was hosting this event and did not need him selling us after already being told "no, thank you" twice. It was awkward and ultimately changed the vibe. He hardly checked on us after that encounter and we constantly had to remind them about request that were never brought out to the table. Staff needs to be trained better. This was just an ok experience. April 2026 : What ultimately lead me to write this review was my 2nd experience at this diner. The server was a lot better than our first experience, but we did run into a few too many problems. First, we ordered coffee and are informed that per managements request, we can only have half-half or cream with our coffee. Previously they had French vanilla creamers and other flavored creamers but I guess management decided to save on the additional cost. This was a bummer especially realizing that they could easily afford creamers. This restaurant easily pulls at least $150,000 per week in revenue, so I didn't understand cheapening out like that. I still ordered the coffee. When it came to the table I added the cream into the cup only to find something floating in the coffee. I send it back and ask for a new cup, which the server politely provided. We order our meals and all goes well. Eventually two of the three meals come out and we wait for the final plate to come out. It's common courtesy to wait for everyone to have their meal before eating, so we wait. We wait about 6-7 minutes and the final plate comes out only for it to be cold. All of us ordered breakfast, so you can imagine trying to eat cold egg, potato, and sausage. We ask for the waiter, but before he could get to us the manager passes by and we let him know the issue. He takes the plate to the back and about two minutes later he comes back with the same exact plate. Before the manager arrived to take the plate away, I saw the guest split the egg half and add black pepper on everything so we knew it was the same plate and food she started eating off of that was reheated onto the kitchen grill where other food is being prepared for guest. The manager informs us that he had the chef heat the food up on the griddle and that it should be a perfect temperature. We refuse to accept the plate because it was reheated and not remade entirely. We were shocked that this was the solution even being offered. Reheating food on the griddle seemed unsafe (contamination risk, diseases, illness, etc) and offensive. No one pays these prices to have reheated breakfast served to them. I could've just made that at home for a fraction of the price. We politely refuse the reheated plate and he apologized and took the plate to the back. The server comes over to see what the issue is and we explain everything. He says that he will look into it and take that meal off the bill. Now I'm frustrated because one out of the three of us aren't eating anything and the experience was off. At this point, I'm not eating my meal but the 3rd guest is eating. So the guest who sent their plate back and myself are waiting for the 3rd guest to finish their pancakes. He ordered a stack of 4-5 chocolate chip pancakes and was happily eating away at layer by layer. Eventually he gets to the last 2 pancakes and before he adds syrup he notices what appeared to be an eyelash or short piece of hair imbedded in the pancake. Picture of the clearly imbedded hair included with this review. He immediately stopped eating and looks sick. He had already eaten 3-4 pancakes by then and the idea that he ate more of whatever that was felt unnerving, to say the least. We both start looking to see what he's looking at and long behold the hair was there. At this point we are extremely frustrated and completely over this experience. Management did not make this experience right even after addressing all of these issues both separately and together. I felt like my money was not valued and my business certainly wasn't. They did nothing to remedy these issues and I will NOT be going back to this establishment. This restaurant may look visually beautiful but the service is not. Staff needs more training, music needs to be turned down, chefs need to wear hairnets and everyone needs to follow safe food handling skills. You're putting your guest and your business at risk ignoring these issues. I really really wish I had a better experience.
