I got the Oreo chocolate chip cookie filled with cream and it was phenomenal. My only complaint is that when we arrived in the evening they were out of most of their flavors. The man working was very friendly and quickly warmed up my cookie so I could be on my way to explore the rest of the market. Sadly no photo because I ate it so fast. read more

I came across Sugar Shane's for the first time as I was exploring Ponce City Market while waiting to meet up with friends for lunch. At first glance, the cookies didn't look appealing to me so I didn't stop at the counter. I was concerned they would be dry and/or too sweet. However, my brother-in-law brought home some cookies from Sugar Shane's and warmed them up for dessert after dinner. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well balanced the flavors were and they weren't overwhelmingly sweet. The outside was crispy while the center was soft and buttery. I am now completely hooked! These cookies are incredible. They are so delicious and are definitely gourmet. I love the taste and how many flavors they have available. They taste so good after heating them because the centers get nice and gooey. The service when I went was great and she was nice about me needing a minute to make up my mind. We were intrigued by their hefty mounds of baked cookie dough and took a good deal of time to decide which unique variety we were going to sample. We wound up sharing one of the Nana's Pudding Cookies, which utilized a base of banana pudding, a vanilla buttercream filling, and additional bonuses of vanilla wafers, Chessmen butter cookies, and vanilla chips. Sugar Shane is located inside of Ponce city market. With seating in the general area like the rest of the food stores there. the cookies are both visually appealing and flavorful. They are meant to be warmed up so that you can experience a gooey center. The cookie that I got was the cookie butter flavor, and it was very tasty on the outside. Mine was warmed up, but I did not experience the gooeyness, my inside filling was cold cookie butter which made the cookie too sweet, even though I devoured the outside because it was delicious. I knew when I took 2 bites into this cookie, this was a cookie for my husband. My husband would rate this cookie a 5/5 - perfection! I asked for it warm and the cashier was a little confused and didn't warm it. But the base of this cookie is a very good, very standard cookie taste. We tried the s'mores and I loved how the marshmallow was crispy on edges and gooey in center. But the base chocolate chip is a nostalgic flavor. I can't rate this a 5, because I'm a Gideon's girl, and nothing ever lives up. The butter and vanilla and just base of any Gideon's cookie causes my tastebuds to explode. But these were very good. We are from KY and I don't think we have a cookie locally as good as sugar shanes! My husband prefers these to Gideon's, so I gave an average of our two opinions! read more

I am so glad that I went to Sugar Shanes yesterday to pick out some delicious cookies with my family before they I had to leave for my home state following the holiday festivities and I was not disappointed! Their cookies are huge, delicious and fresh baked, how can you complain about that? The bakery was very clean and well tended to when I was there, and the service was absolutely stellar! It was my first time ever here and the employee who helped me out, he said everyone just called him Happy, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and worked with me to pick out just the right cookies for my family, not one of us was disappointed! Interior wise, it's cute. It tries to invoke a sense of Japanese aesthetic with the shoji panels, all the wood and light, the fake flowers, and I don't hate it. It's a fine place to sit and chat, though I feel bad for others who want to visit because again, the parking here sucks. I got their black sesame latte float with a matcha and sakura (seasonal flavor) swirl. The sakura was sweeter than anticipated and not floral, which was a bit disappointing since I didn't like it alone or mixing with the matcha flavor. The black sesame portion was fine. I like the nuttiness of black sesame in general, and I would've loved if they used more for a stronger flavor. The flavor was subtle, and with the ice and soft serve on top, got easily diluted.

The banana slices were also not mushy which I liked. I'm not a huge fan of tanghulu in general, but I liked the strawberries which were sweet, juicy, and fresh. The sugar coating was crunchy and not too sticky which I liked as well. The interior is big, but busy and packed when we went close to midnight on a Friday night. They also have a ramyun station, photo booth, and a cellphone case maker which is fun! I also saw people with laptops hooked up to the outlets, so this may be study spot option as well? They also have a lot of free, ample parking in front. I can see a lot of college kids making this a regular hangout spot.
