We recently stayed in one of the suites at Sugar Creek Resort. There are also cabins. The vibe was rustic and private, and the view of Beaver Lake from our deck was spectacular. It's a little secluded, which we really liked. You do have to drive a little to get to some of the more touristy areas, but we knew that, and we thought it was nice. It was lovely being away from the more trafficked areas at night and sitting on the deck looking at the stars. We were there for four nights, and our check-in was completely remote and easy. We received detailed instructions via email, including where to find the key. It was very private, which was perfect. The rooms are not cleaned during your stay, unless you call and request it, but that is all explained in the provided instructions. There was a phone number where we could call if we wanted fresh towels or anything else, but we were fine using the same ones, so we didn't need to call for anything. This is important because, while there is an office, it was always locked and we never saw anyone there. You have to call if you need anything. The photos on the website look gorgeous, but they also look like they might have been taken a long time ago. The place could do with a little updating, but it was clean. The bathroom is tiny - just barely big enough for a sink, toilet, and shower, but no tub. If you want a bath, you have to use the jacuzzi in the middle of the living room/kitchen/bedroom (kind of awkward placement, to be honest). Our only maintenance issues were minor. The blinds on the front window were broken, so we just left them closed while we were there. Also, the toilet stopped flushing after our first day. The chain inside the tank broke, so we just had to take the lid off and flush it manually. We could have called them to fix these things while we were there, but we didn't want to take a chance on them coming at an inconvenient time, so we just left a note when we left. read more

We loved our stay at Sugar Ridge Resort. The owners are amazing local guides who gave restaurant recommendations, connected us with a local boat tour, and were incredibly responsive to our outreaches! The price was spot on which helped our budget. The room included an AMAZING view (see the photos) and an indoor hot tub. The facilities were clean and well prepared for our stay. The only issue we had was that you could hear the neighbors through the wall which was a little concerning as it was our initial honeymoon (yay CoVID canceling international trips!), but even that wasn't a big deal. read more

My husband and I decided to do something different for our first wedding anniversary, and instead of staying in a bed and breakfast or a hotel in town, we opted for a secluded cabin overlooking the lake. And while I'm not one to go roughin' it, I certainly enjoyed the serenity and peacefulness this little cabin provided. First of all, my GPS about had a massive freak out while trying to find this place. It really is off the beaten path and up a very steep one-laned hill. I'm not sure how people would be able to visit during the winter if there is snow, but Sugar Ridge is definitely open all year round. My husband and I were in cabin #5, and as soon as we opened the door we were hit with a lovely lemon scent and a beautiful view of the lake. We had a two-room cabin. The living room was very rustic (complete with stuffed fish above the fireplace), but super homey. Had all your comforts like appliances, kitchen table, even a little writing desk. The bedroom had a nice king bed and a large jacuzzi in front of a huge picture window overlooking the lake. Outside was a deck/balcony that was really lovely complete with a small bistro set, a couple of Adirondack chairs, and porch swing. I wanted to spend most of my time out there because of how inviting it was. Perfect for relaxing at any time of the day. Each cabin comes with a charcoal grill if you are so inclined, but only the main office and the suites have wi-fi. So beware if that is one of your must-haves. However my Verizon service and husband's AT&T service worked just fine out there, no issues whatsoever with 3G or 4GLTE. Sugar Ridge was the perfect place for us to spend our anniversary. It was only about 20-25 minutes outside of downtown Eureka Springs, so it wasn't too much of a hassle getting to the "big city". We would have no second thoughts in staying here again in the future. Nice little place to stay in the woods. We stayed in the suite and our view was amazing. A little outdated on the decor but that's ok. The suite comes with pretty much everything you need. The kitchen has all necessities including a coffee maker, microwave, fridge, portable stove, pots and pans, utensils, some spices for cooking, towels, hair dryer, TV, DVD player, charcoal, lighter fluid, matches, etc. There is a trail nearby which my dog loved. There aren't any places to eat unless you drive about 30 minutes into town. But finding a good place to eat was challenging; not very many and the place we went to wasn't good. There is a grocery store called Harts that we went to and bought groceries at so we could just cook it ourselves. There is a jacuzzi in the room, which is a plus. There is a cave nearby called Cosmic Cavern if you're looking for something to do. We stayed here from Friday through Sunday and it was about $200/night. read more

OMG! The cabins at the Sugar Ridge Resort were absolutely a dream to stay in. Normally they run around $425 a night... we got on hotwire (a website of that nature) and got the room for $360 tax and all fees included. When you have 7 people staying the cabin that is not a lot to pay at all. I posted several pictures of our cabin and the view. Their is 3 California king size beds and 2 queens in the upper loft. Two full bathrooms and two complete entertainment rooms downstairs and upstairs. Two decks and a BBQ grill. One kitchen complete with dishwasher, refridgerator, coffee maker, and cooking untensils. Fire wood is on the porch that you are welcome to use in the fire place.! On my specific stay my friends and I, there were 7 of us, BBQed that night and watched TV. One of the couples used the hot tub that was in the master bedroom by the window over looking the view of Beaver lake outside. It doesnt get better than that! As for the location it is outside of Eureka Springs about 10 miles but is well worth it. Far enough to get you away from the town but close enough for driving distance. This is the IDEAL place for people who travel in groups and want a night out. Because the cabin is so big (three stories) there is also a sense of privacy. Absolutely perfect.! read more

My first trip to Sugar Ridge Resort was in July of 2013 with my boyfriend Chris. We were celebrating our 4th anniversary and wanted to get away from it all. Sugar Ridge couldn't have been better. The pictures on their website simply do not do them justice! When we walked in the door to our cabin we were blown away. It is so peaceful looking from the back deck. On our first night there, we needed recommendations for dinner and the owners were very helpful. When we got engaged in September 2013 we knew that we wanted to go back. So, in 34 days, May 30th, 2014 we are getting married at Thorncrown Chapel (in Eureka Springs) and we are having our reception at the resort in one of the larger cabins. The owners and employees of Sugar Ridge Resort have been very accommodating, and seem to genuinely care about their patrons. I've booked stays at Sugar Ridge twice now and I still think it's one of the best places to stay in the Eureka Springs area. It's right on Beaver Lake with pristine views and lots of bird watching. Each cabin comes with bird feed to fill the bird feeders that are on the back porch decks. The cabins were clean and stocked with the basics whether that be towels, soap or dishes and cooking utensils. We made dinner twice while there last weekend. The cozy cabin and awesome fireplace makes for a great place to stay in the fall or even wintertime. They provide plenty of firewood as well. Also the oversized jacuzzi is a pretty great selling point. I've seen a complaint here about no wifi, but I don't think the resort's website ever said they provide wifi. There is Dish Network and a TV in the living room and in the bedroom. We didn't watch much TV though and just enjoyed the cabin and its surroundings. Fun fact, the property backs up to the old abandoned Dinosaur Park. If you go for a walk into the woods you'll pretty much end up there. It's kind of a fun and weird old place that I'm sure one is not supposed to be, but rules were made to be broken, I suppose. The owners/mgmt are very nice and accommodating and I wouldn't hesitate to book there again. read more

We stayed in Cabin 6 for 4 nights for our 21st wedding anniversary. This was our best anniversary trip ever! We will definitely come back! We had the Eagle's Nest Family cabin. Pros: Beautiful cabin. Beautiful view (just like pictures). Very friendly staff. Cons: Smoke smell, from fireplace usage, incredibly strong inside cabin (unfortunately, you CAN'T see this in the pictures). Even though we did not use the fireplace while there, everything in our suitcases was saturated with that smell when we returned home. Also, there is no wifi. We prepaid for 4 nights but were ready to leave after 3 (even though we knew we wouldn't get a refund for last night). read more

We stayed at Buckey's Place and it was beautiful. When we first walked in we were taken away by how amazing the cabin was set up. It was clean and had a very fresh smell. The cabin has everything that you need. There is a kitchen with everything, you just have to buy the food. It is great to be able to cook breakfast and fix lunches before leaving for the day. We had seven people staying in the cabin and there was space for a lot more people. There was no point that it felt like we on top of each other. There is one big master bedroom and bathroom, living area and kitchen on the main level, a loft with two full size beds, and the downstairs has two rooms with King beds, a bath room, and living area. With two huge balcony's you can always see an amazing view of Beaver Lake. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you need anything they try their best to help you. They even let us park our motorcycle by the office so it would be on more level ground. If you have any questions about what to do while you are there, just ask. The staff has great knowledge of the area. You are close to anything you want to do. The cabins are a couple minutes from Beaver Lake and the river. If you want to go to Eureka Springs, you have about a 20-25 minute drive. There is something for everyone near by. It is also great to just relax in the cabin. It was such a peaceful stay, I did not want to leave. I enjoyed not having wifi because I was able to fully disconnect and relax (there is still cell phone service). I would recommend this place to anyone. We are already planning our next trip back and we just left. read more

My husband and I both enjoyed some R & R at this cute cabin with the gorgeous view across the lake. We even got lucky with some thunderstorms and was able to watch the storms across the lake. It was amazing to capture some of the photos we did with the lightening. The location is perfect not too far out of town and there was plenty of privacy. We had unlimited amount of fire wood! That was a plus. When we checked out I noticed I forgot my hair dryer and straightener, the owner mailed it right to me no question! I was very pleased of. His kindness.
