French Macaron Jackpot! This cute bakery makes perfect French Macarons, lots of flavours from typical to Asian palates. Some macarons are extra special cartoon characters and festive for the upcoming Chinese New Year. These will make a great gift when visiting friends, super cute! The owner is very friendly and proud of her establishment. They opened right before the pandemic hence no official grand opening. I am so glad to have found this little patisserie gem. So many cute treats to discover from Asian buns , Mille Cake, French Macarons, custom cakes, unique cookies, Asian fusion teas and coffee of course. My kids really enjoyed the assorted cookies. The cowboy is like a chocolate chip Lacey, thin crispy butter crunch, there's a walnut and plain one. It's not very spacious to sit with friends, only two counter height tables for four, and a couch at this time. They are located ground floor, left end of the plaza below the Oxford Learning. Will report back about the teas and buns soon, this place is worth a visit!

My tgtg adventures. Mediocre at best. The cupcakes looked pretty but didn't taste great... cake was dry... icing tasted like food colouring..

It wasn't overly sweet and had a delicate flavor. They also offer a variety of baked goods, pastries, and cakes, so I'm excited to try something else next time. Plus, having parking available makes it even more convenient. The place was bright, clean and spacious with a friendly staff.

Found this spot and they had a good selection mid afternoon to pick up on a Sunday. The person at the counter is super helpful in helping describe the cake. They have basque cheesecake which is richer and the flavour I'm sure the person I'm gifting would confidently enjoy but I wasn't sure if they would prefer the lightness of their popular options over the classic. She explained the glazed popular cheesecakes they have aren't regular New York style cheese cake (despite their Uber Eats describing it as such for their Yakult flavour cheese cake). It's more like cheesecake mousse. I didn't want to get the basque cheesecake because it didn't look as nice. So she said the black sesame is in between the classic basque / New York cheesecake and the popular glazed mousse cheesecake. It's also made of marscapone and layered with matcha and not too sweet. It's also her fav so I went with her recommendation. I notice the black sesame cake isn't shown as available on Uber Eats delivery. I decided to pick up in person to make sure the delivery goes smoothly. The price difference is just $1. However, Uber Eats does charge tax and other fees whereas there's no tax at all on pick up. I eventually tried a piece and it does taste like a hybrid cheesecake in texture though the middle thin layer is a bit soggy, though I didn't mind that part. However, even though I love matcha I'm not a fan of the matcha and black sesame combination. I think I would've like a layer with more intense black sesame as the cake itself and the black sesame very subtle. The matcha is more intense creating an imbalance and over powers the black sesame flavour in the cake. Still a tasty cake especially for someone that prefers lighter not too sweet cakes. Note the staff does hand you the payment and there's a tip option of 10% as the lowest suggested option, which I found kinda excessive for just putting a cake in the box. They don't even make cakes at this location. It's all made in the Sauga location and she didn't even write the happy birthday on the cake. I know it's optional but it's just the consumer experience, I tipped but I feel like the tipping culture is a bit excessive to pass onto the consumer to tip on an expensive cake. Just price the cake fairly to compensate the employee or waive for pick ups and have it for only dine-ins. Unlike the previous review, it seems like they do provide a little free happy birthday topper and also a complimentary skinny candle and you're also welcome to buy extra candles if you want. They also sell some $10~ decorative helium balloons to make your celebration a bit more festive. This is their second location. The main one being in Sauga, which I've been told has been in operation for over 25 years apparently. This one I was told was opened in the last 2 years.

It made the experience feel welcoming and relaxed. Food 4/5 There's plenty of choices on the menu and everything tasted freshly made flavours are solid and satisfying, and the ability to try samples first helped narrow down what to order. I bought a couple of buns as a customer since then and I'm hooked! Bun Appetit is located at Commerce Gate. It's located closer to Highway 7. It's around the corner from Kinton Ramen, which I have been to a handful of times during the pandemic to pick up good eats. I found a parking spot steps away from Bun Appetit on a Wednesday evening at around 6:15 pm and backed in to it. It's easier to find parking when it's a weekday, in the afternoon. Bun Appetit's breads are naturally fermented for 168 hours. I liked that all buns and breads are gut-friendly and low on the glycemic index. I'm always interested in lower sugar options. I have sampled these items: - Baguette - Whole wheat walnut vegan bun - Lychee bun - Raisin earl grey bun - Oreo chocolate delight bun - Matcha pistachio pretzel - Whole wheat German pretzel - Yeast loaf with Nutella They were all delicious. They were soft and airy. My favourites were the whole wheat walnut vegan bun and the Oreo chocolate delight bun (also known as the messy hands bun). The former had whole walnuts that were so crunchy and fresh. The bread was chewy and soft. The messy hands bun used dark chocolate. It was also fluffy and soft. It lived up to its name. I had messy fingers just eating a morsel! It has 9 g of sugar, which is practically nothing being fermented. I liked how unique the flavours were. I loved the smell of the lychee bun. I wish it had lychee pieces in it. Instead, it was wine-infused and that flavour overpowered everything. I loved the yeast loaf with Nutella as a dessert option. I nearly picked up a loaf after this event was over! As a parting snack, I got the truffle mushroom one. It was the last one. I love mushrooms. It was super delicious with truffle oil, enoki mushrooms, spinach, garlic, and melted cheeses on top. The bun was soft and perfect. It was such a gourmet bun. I have since returned to get more buns: - Strawberry beetroot - Chocolate arancia The strawberry beetroot bun was fluffy. I decided to cut it in half. To my surprise and joy, it had whole strawberries in it. Wow and yay! I love fruit, but I wasn't expecting so much of it in this bun. I loved it. It was naturally sweet from the strawberries. The beetroot wasn't noticeable in flavour. I feel it added colour to the triangular bun more than anything. The chocolate arancia was equally as unique slicing it in half. This bun had candied orange bits in it. It tasted so good with the chocolate morsels on top and the subtle chocolate flavour in the bun itself. It was delicious. I need to return for more. I have found the buns of my dreams, which sounds odd and funny. It's all true! I paid with a credit card. You can register your phone number to collect points towards goodies. I'll be back. (185)

We got the mango cake which looks amazing as the mango slices are arranged to look like a giant flower. The mangoes were very fresh and sweet. The cake was not bad - like a sponge cake - soft and spongy though I feel could have had a bit more flavor/sugar. In between the layers of the cake are a mix of light cream and mango chunks which was refreshing. The base of the cake has a nice layer of chocolate crunch - kind of like chocolate cornflakes but smaller and more delicious. The textural difference really stands out against the soft cake and smooth mangoes. Would definitely order this cake again!

We never had a chance to come here to have a cup of coffee. We happened to come here before 10:00 AM. Those tea shops weren't open yet, so we got to enter Phin La . The first impression of their coffee menu is: why does it have so many colors in their drinks? And why are there many ingredients which feel like they shouldn't be in coffee? Banana, ube, sesame, etc. Whatsoever, I recall I ordered the sesame and banana latte. Surprisingly, it had an indescribable but well-mixed flavor. One sip was enough to tell me it was better than any specialty drink at Starbucks. Vietnamese cafes have done some crazy and playful experiments on all kinds of toppings for coffee. I will definitely come back .

It was so thick, I was able to coat the straw with it and really savor every little bit (even scraped the inside of the cup)! The deep purple color so appetizing. Lastly, I give it the highest Asian compliment "it wasnt too sweet". Highly recommend.
