A group of friends and I visited on New Years to enjoy a mountain ski trip, which turned into a living nightmare. Since it was New Years I am sure you can imagine what other options we had, so we ended up buying a blow up mattress. The worst experience ever! I could talk for hours about how horrible our "chalet rental" was but I'll sum it up and let my pictures talk for themselves. This place was absolutely disgusting. From the moment we walked in you could see dirt everywhere. There was BLOOD on the comforter in one of the bedrooms and when asked to get a new one they returned it a second time with the same blood stains on it! The carpet and couch upstairs smelled like pee, there was "mud" coming out of the downstairs pull out couch, the lights in another bedroom did not work, and there was mildew in the upstairs bathroom carpet. I will never ever recommend this place, nor will I be back. The health inspectors should examine this business and how it is run. Really they should shut them down. No refund or anything was given. Again just check out the photos. I wish I would have taken more of this junk of a place.

Stay away! We…read morestopped in as we were interested in land, and met with an agent by the name of Reese Carroll. He showed us one property, and we gave him our contact information and told him we'd get in touch if we needed any further information. This was in July 2019. Reese has called us EVERY SINGLE SAY, SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES since, and it is now September 21, 2019. His message are always the same; "Call me, I wanted to see if you got the message I left for you." It's like a sick joke, but it isn't funny or amusing. I have ignored his calls thinking he would get the message, but he obviously does not. I've sent him emails telling him we are not interested. He still calls. Every day. I've blocked his number. He still calls. Every day. I've sent him text messages telling him to leave us alone. He still calls. Every day. At this point, I am going to contact the NC Board of Realtors and file a complaint, because this is harassment on a level I've never seen before. Ever.

The good: 1. House was beautiful and as advertised in the…read morepictures. Stocked well with utensils, plates, pans, etc 2. Plenty of room 3. Indoor and out door gas fireplace was a bonus too. Vs messing with firewood. The bad: 1. the house wasn't fully cleaned from prior stay (2 beds slept in and not cleaned, used soap left in the showers). 2. the driveway condition. We had 2 AWD SUVs and 2 AWD trucks. 1 SUV and 1 Truck made it up. The other SUV had chains and couldn't make it (2012 Range Rover). There was difficulty in getting a plow person there and the first attempt was a joke. We were told to call back if the plow didn't show up. We had to call back 4 times!! Each time we were told "they were on their way". Then when they did show up at 9pm, they only plowed 20feet of a 100ft driveway. They eventually came back and salted the next day. With the degree of slope of the driveway and the unimproved road off ridge rd, some degree of plowing should be done prior to the arrival of guests, or at least sufficiently salted, especially if the house hasn't been rented in awhile. Also, a disclaimer or description of the road leading to the cabin should be advertised. 3. Hot tub. Although a nice touch and a reason we chose your unit, the water was filthy and someone had turned the heating unit off, although it read 102F when we first got there (i'm guessing one of the cleaners when they came). It took overnight for the temp to be get back to 102. Had we had chemicals and hose to clean the tub, we would have. A manual for the hot tub to work the temp would be useful as well. 3. Water was shut off. We called after we couldn't locate the water tank, and the property manager had to call someone else to find the information. This along with other findings, just make it seem like little quality control is done prior to check in for guests. 4. There were mice in the unit. There were rodent feces under the sink and we got a video of one running around at night. We were alerted when it chewed through a cooler for a granola bar. 5. Heating downstairs was inadequate. Folks that slept there had to sleep in long johns and sweat shirts, while the upstairs bedroom behind kitchen were baked. The thermostat maxed out at 70 degrees for heat? 6. The gas grill was helpful, but the burners were so old it caused the food to be either burnt or under cooked.
