We really loved this quiet little inn, which only hosts 24 or so rooms. The room we had was a King, and it was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We liked the old fashioned quilt on our bed, instead of the boilerplate heavy thing we normally get (and refuse to lay down on).
Our room had a refrigerator and a microwave, in addition to the coffeemaker. This came in handy when we understood the hours of operation for most eating places were geared towards the early risers.
We meant to, but did not take advantage of the restaurant inside the inn. The menu seemed generous, albeit expensive. This an expensive place to live, whether you are a tourist or a resident! The prices seemed on par with the other inns in town. Our stay came with a complimentary breakfast. It was a boilerplate sort of thing with milk, boxed cereals, bagels and danishes. None were homemade, so after the first morning we opted out. The coffee was good, however, and better than the coffee pods that were included with the room.
The local eating places leaned towards generous and pricey entrees, so frugality was easy and we always had a midnight nosh thanks to the fried and microwave.
Amenities were present; basket of soaps, shampoos, conditioner. Plenty of nice, white towels and washcloths. We stayed three nights and didn't take advantage of the maid service because A) we reuse towels and don't slop stuff around, and B) four bath towels for two people in a three night stay was more than enough.
We were checked in by a gentleman who we also saw healing clean rooms and organize the breakfast. We wondered if he wasn't primarily responsible for everything! Since we didn't utilize the restaurant, I have no idea how many people worked here. A friendly and helpful woman who cleaned the rooms and the aforementioned gentlemen were the only people we saw. The level of quality in and efficiency we experienced certainly seemed like a small team of people!
Our only complaint (and it isn't really that) is that we wish the window curtains were more light-blocking. We understood that the usual clientele were likely to be skiers or hikers and morning people. We aren't those things. But on the plus side, we got out without asking for an extended checkout!
I highly recommend this place, especially if you want to save some coin and bring leftovers back for the next days lunch! read more
