We checked in at end of the day, got a nice informative tour including interesting history of the house from Scott.

There are water stains all over the ceilings. The walls are cracked due to foundation issues. Our room had cobwebs. The beds are so uncomfortable you can feel each spring. The worst part for me was the black mold all over the bathroom walls. I even found a live roach which I was accused of bring because they said "we don't have roaches". Interesting since the entire inn was full. Then i was told it was a grasshopper. I attached a photo, don't worry. So you can decide. Lastly, we can't eat in the room. So we went downstairs to eat in the dining room. Tessa said no you can't eat here. Go outside. So we ate outside like dogs. Don't stay here

We always prefer B&Bs and inns to corporate hotels so we booked a Sunday and Monday night here…read moreprior to the fourth of July. We booked the Little Room which is actually next to the main house. They told us up front that cell phone reception was spotty, and they were right, but they do offer wi-fi. Our room felt a little musty at first but we turned on the AC until nighttime when the air was quite cool and comfortable. We enjoyed our relaxing stay and sat on our porch during some summer storms. In the evening, we had some complimentary tea and brownies and rocked in the chairs outside the main house. One evening we even heard bagpipes playing (must have been practicing for the Highland Games). Breakfast was delicious both days. There are no TVs in the rooms, which was fine with us. Even though the inn is on a remote country road, we were still surprised to hear cars and trucks go by throughout the night.

Stayed here recently with my dog for my bridal hair and makeup trials. I booked on my rewards app…read morefor the stay and this hotel showed it was pet friendly. I checked in and went upstairs. The next day I get an email with an additional $80 charge. I called the location to see why I was charged a "Pet Cleaning Fee" on this itemized receipt. She asked if I had a pet with me, to which I had responded I did. She said that they were a newly pet friendly hotel and that is their charge for the pet. I explained that I had booked on my app and nowhere did I see an $80 charge for the stay. I would never had stayed there for that fee. In fact, I've never seen anything over $50 for a pet stay. While talking to the woman on the phone, she cuts me off and says, had we known you had a dog we would have greeted your dog and given her a treat. Well, the front desk personnel must've been particularly blind since she acknowledged us walking through the lobby with our bags and my seven year old black lab, walking on her own four feet. I will not be going back, and I will be advising all wedding guests to book literally anywhere else for their stay. The room with taxes was $100 for me to stay. Add my dog for $80 and it was almost double the cost. I could literally board her for several days for that price! I don't know why I bothered to have my dog stay on her own blanket to avoid having hair in the hotel room. Had I known, I would've had my dog stay with me in bed where she is most comfortable.

The outside of the hotel was nice and it was easy to find, which gave us a good first impression…read more Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. Our room was honestly disgusting. The floors clearly hadn't been vacuumed--there were crumbs next to the table and even beer caps under the AC unit. The microwave made a loud, alarming noise within seconds of turning it on, like it was about to break or worse. The bed skirt was covered in stains, which just added to the overall lack of cleanliness. The issues weren't limited to the room. The lights at the end of our hallway were burned out, and there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from somewhere on our floor. While the front desk staff was polite, they seemed visibly irritated and mentioned working a double shift, which showed in their demeanor. Breakfast was also disappointing--the juice machine was out of order and replaced with a random bottle of juice, which felt like an afterthought. Overall, while the exterior looked promising, the experience inside was very poor. I would not stay here again.

We were surprised in the most pleasant of ways. The best part was the bed itself and the linens: if I could've stayed in bed instead of attend a celebration that would've been party enough for me. The only downsize was their in-house, mediocre breakfast. But, if I have to share that - since it was snowing like crazy outside - we were only too happy to have it!
