There's large clawfoot tubs large enough for two, and each item is delicately chosen to stay within the realm of an old farmhouse from long ago. There are treats and coffee available at all hours of the day and night, a delicious breakfast that is 2nd to none, and a social every day with meats, vegetables, and cheeses that is unlike anything you've had before. We decided to enjoy ours on the front porch in rocking chairs and I must say that it was one of the most enjoyable parts of the whole stay! The town around the Inn is stunningly charming. It feels like one should be walking or taking a wagon from the Inn, rather than driving, to the General Store or to Over Yonder restaurant which is just a short distance from the Inn. We booked the Little Room which is actually next to the main house. They told us up front that cell phone reception was spotty, and they were right, but they do offer wi-fi. In the evening, we had some complimentary tea and brownies and rocked in the chairs outside the main house. One evening we even heard bagpipes playing (must have been practicing for the Highland Games). Breakfast was delicious both days. There are no TVs in the rooms, which was fine with us. The next day I get an email with an additional $80 charge. I called the location to see why I was charged a "Pet Cleaning Fee" on this itemized receipt. She asked if I had a pet with me, to which I had responded I did. She said that they were a newly pet friendly hotel and that is their charge for the pet. I explained that I had booked on my app and nowhere did I see an $80 charge for the stay. I would never had stayed there for that fee. In fact, I've never seen anything over $50 for a pet stay. While talking to the woman on the phone, she cuts me off and says, had we known you had a dog we would have greeted your dog and given her a treat. Well, the front desk personnel must've been particularly blind since she acknowledged us walking through the lobby with our bags and my seven year old black lab, walking on her own four feet. I will not be going back, and I will be advising all wedding guests to book literally anywhere else for their stay. The room with taxes was $100 for me to stay. Add my dog for $80 and it was almost double the cost. I could literally board her for several days for that price! I don't know why I bothered to have my dog stay on her own blanket to avoid having hair in the hotel room. Had I known, I would've had my dog stay with me in bed where she is most comfortable.

Upon arrival around 11:30 AM, I was denied early check in because there were no rooms available. I wanted to settle in the lobby to complete some work as my drive had been hefty and I had an early start. I attempted to get hot water for tea as it was available for guests but it was lukewarm with no way of heating things up. I left and had a late breakfast/early lunch in the hopes of killing more time. Upon my arrival around 1:30, I was again told that there were no rooms ready for checkin. The checkin person seemed shocked at this but let me know that's why the system said. A housekeeper who was straightening the lobby suggested this was incorrect and to call the head housekeeper to confirm. They did and I was able to check in. The room gave a weird but not an ick feeling upon my initial arrival. I always wipe and disinfect to my satisfaction so I wasn't entirely grossed by that but the room had a wet feel-almost like the feeling you get in an area that floods often. The furniture was worn, carpet needed a thorough cleaning, and the room needed an overall revamp. Nonetheless, I settled in for a midday rest. At about 5pm as I was napping, I was awaken to the sounds of music blasting from the next room-this went on for hours. I went to get dinner and turned in for the night at around 9-10pm. I woke up about 4 am to prepare for the day and to my disgusted surprise, there were roaches crawling on the nightstand. I immediately packed up my things and left disgusted. I called later to speak to the manager. I didn't receive any apology or pleasantries other than the generic details on when I could expect a refund for the remainder of my stay. I absolutely would not recommend this hotel-great location but horrible accommodations.
