The place does not accept American Express. But then, the food is also rather lackluster. With lemonade being sickeningly sweet and having an odd, chemical flavor. The Budweiser Prohibition Brew we ordered was replaced with Budweiser Zero - a much poorer alternative. The food is edible and we did not get sick after eating it, but it is on the more expensive side, given the quality. In particular, everything was very greasy - which is not always a bad thing with a diner, but here it was not great. My steak - ordered medium-rare, came medium/well-done which I had to ask to be replaced. It did get replaced with a (nearly) properly cooked (more solidly medium, not rarer) one. I wish it was 14 oz ribeye I paid for, not a thin 8 oz, though. The meat was tasty, a bit lacking the flavor, and the bone was large - not worth the price. The fries were good. The place is halal certified. So the bacon you will get is chicken-based. The environment is very "movie 1950s" - unlike the true diners, but also lacking the atmosphere of the 50s. It would be very enjoyable for its ambiance, if not for the fact, that the place is filled with families with young kids, and as such gets kindergarten loud at times. I had high hopes, but I did not get a satisfactory meal. I did not have a great experience, and I did not get a bargain. Nowadays we appreciate and build those bikes for the nostalgia and esthetic they bring to the table. The same can be said about Ace, it doesn't forget where it came from. The establishment feels as close as it would have back when it was originally operating. There's even a juke box in there (not sure if it works), but I doubt people still place bets if you can get to the next café before the song is over playing hahaha. The food is pretty decent, but I can only attest to the "quick bites" portion of the menu since I wasn't too hungry. I ordered the tuna sandwich with an iced coffee. They don't go well together, but I had to have coffee there! How can I go to ace café and not drink any of their coffee?! That's like saying you went to San Francisco and didn't visit the golden gate bridge. People were very kind and fun to converse with. No matter where you are the biker community is always friendly and that's what I can say about this place and their customers. They also host bike nights and events. I only wish that I could attend with a bike, but since they're stuck in the states I don't imagine that will happen any time soon. Ultimately I'm extremely happy I was able to go to the place that started café racers because those bikes are what got me into riding in the first place. The great thing about the Ace cafe is it's open 24 hours so when you are cruising about on your bike late at night you can always call in here for a coffee and meet some kindred spirits. The Ace Cafe website has a great archive of black and white photographs from the 1940s, 50s and 60s, which i love looking at. It's all about rock and roll and bikes really.

The following day I come here for breakfast, also a buffet but at a more competitive price of £16.50, the breakfast selection was pretty typical for a hotel breakfast and even included a Peach Iced tea with the fresh fruit juices, which was the "high vitamin" drink. The quality of my breakfast was satisfactory, the food overall wasn't fantastic, especially the extras where I found the eggs to be too runny, which was an issue in the fried eggs but mainly in the poached eggs, I also had issues with the quality of my omelette, it also was poor, I found the ham inside to be hard and the uneven cheese also spread to my dislike of the dish. The overall layout of the restaurant was quite nice, it has limited views of Wembley Stadium across a way from the third floor of the Hilton hotel. The staff seemed decent in the restaurant as well. Indeed, the atmosphere was so effective I wished I was going home to listen to the gramophone in front of a log fire.
