So, I've been in Branson and the surrounding area for a week now, and if I'm being honest, the food has been just OK. But heading here for breakfast this morn changed my mind a bit. In a sea of tourist traps, this join stands out. In a week, this biscuit breakfast sandwich was the best thing I've eaten. The coffee was dope, and the pastries are delicious. Like most of Branson they're understaffed, so be kind and patient. It's worth the wait! We enjoyed a breakfast sandwich, BLT, and a slice of cake. We also had brewed coffee and a latte. The barista was making drinks for both sides all by herself and she was still so sweet and making tasty drinks as fast as she could. read more

Lovely little coffee and brunch/lunch spot! Food was served hot. The biscuit was HUGE and was made fresh that day. Mouth watering! It was topped with an egg and siracha bacon and some sort of aioli. 4.5 stars. Why not 5? Their crazy long and inefficient line to order food and drinks. I came around 11 am on a busy Saturday and the line wasn't super long but it took forever. They need to separate out lines for drinks and food, or do something/anything to improve this process. The decor is so lovely and enchanting, you feel like you've been transported to another location. Also, while you wait in line you nearly drool over their appetizing desserts. Smart thinking on their part. When you order, you are given a number and they bring the food directly to your table. From placing my order, it took about 10 minutes for my food to be delivered. I ordered the half grilled cheese panini and the chicken and wild rice soup. The soup was rich and creamy, and so clearly homemade. There was a generous amount of delicious chicken included in my small bowl, which was fresh and tasty. The grilled cheese was good, nothing super special and could have been just a tad bit warmer. This is a great place to meet up with friends and grab some food, take children of all ages and/or sit down alone and read a book. We have been coming to Branson for almost 10 years and Sugar leaf is our stop every time for minimally one of our meals while here. The food is delicious and we enjoy the salads, soups, and sandwiches. However, on our trip this year, the service was unacceptable. It's the week before Christmas so there are lots of people out shopping and eating. There wasn't a long line when we came in (2 parties before us) but we waited for over an hour for our food to arrive. My parents were with us and ordered AFTER my family. They received their food first (which we thought was ok because it was 2 of them and 3 of us). But when they were almost DONE eating - i went to the woman taking out the order and asked her about our order. She said she would check on it - but even though she was standing there at the counter where the food comes out when I asked her - she never asked anyone about it. As I watched her (she was busy working but totally NOT concerned about us) she never looked into what was the status of our order. So after about 10 more minutes waiting - I went back to the counter and asked the people preparing the food - they had NO record of our order. He asked me what we ordered and I told him. He said they would get it together. After about another 10 minutes (he came out 2 more times asking about what we ordered) we finally got our food. My parents had finished a long time before. The worst part was that NO ONE ever said, I'm so sorry about that. Apologies go a long way. I don't know who's in charge or feels responsible for good customer service - but no one seemed to care. read more

Walked in about 12:05 before our massage appointments at 1pm because we just needed a little something light before dinner later. We ordered 2 bowls of the creamy chicken and rice soup and 2 lavender lemonades. We figured ordering that we could be out in about 30 to 40 minutes right??? Since I own my own restaurant, The first thing I noticed was the restaurant was about 80% full but no one had food on their tables. I told my friend we might be rushing. Well we were. The soup never came until 12:32pm. The young lady delivering our food said they were making our lemonade and would have it right there. Let's just say after watching the cashier and the barista laugh and have a good ole time they were bringing our lemonades out as we were leaving. We had finished our meal. Personally I would fire employees who couldn't get drinks out before the meal. I was actually in line to get my money back when they brought the lemonades. Had I not been in a hurry I would have gotten my money back and they could have kept the lemonades. Sugar leaf. Yall really missed the mark today. Everytime we come to Branson, I make it a point to stop in Sugar Leaf. The atmosphere is so tranquil and inviting. Relaxing stop to grab a quick bite or dessert during a shopping trip or while you are out sight seeing. The Key Lime Pie is a must try. Rivals the best I've had including pie from Key West itself! We had the ultimate BLT (the bacon was somewhat chewy for a BLT, but the bread was delicious), mesquite chicken (very tasty), and the chicken and wild rice soup (delicious but needed more rice). It was definitely a great departure from the heavier meals available in Branson! We ended with the salted caramel cheesecake. My husband is pre-diabetic, and I was (gracefully, granted) able to steer him away from a very decadent-looking strawberry cheesecake and instead toward a much more sensible chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad here, by the way, is just like my Great-Aunt Helen used to make hers -- with just the PERFECT touch of curry. (Not too little, not too much. YUM.) Friendly, smiling service from start to finish. Incredible aromas from the kitchen, too -- I loved that part. When we travel, we like to seek out places to eat other than the usual chains. We read all the positive reviews about Sugar Leaf and wanted to give it a try. We were staying at the Radisson and Sugar Leaf is literally 3 minutes away. At first it was tricky to find because it's located in the Grand Village Shops off of 76 Highway, so it wasn't visible from the Main Street. But once inside, the cafe is cozy with lovely decor, charming and smelled delicious! The menu on the wall is handwritten with tons of selections. They also have a paper menu but I didn't see until after I ordered. I suggest you look this menu over because they have additional items that are not on the wall menu. All of the food items listed were creative and you can tell everything is fresh. I ordered the half and half: Chicken Salad (a curry flavored salad) on top of a light, crisp chip very similar to pita and a green salad with a tasty balsamic dressing. It was just the right amount of food for me, not overwhelming but a perfect late lunch (we came around 2pm during the week day so it wasn't too busy). My husband had the Pastrami on Rye. It was a good sized sandwich, gooey and flavorful. I was craving for really good coffee and their coffee was dark and delicious. It hit the spot. I only wish they had non-dairy options for cream (coconut or almond). We couldn't leave without checking out the baked goods so we ordered a chocolate chip cookie and the s'mores cookie to go. It was 90 + degrees outside so after awhile the s'mores cookie melted a little - it was perfection! The staff at Sugar Leaf were very friendly and we enjoyed their kind service. We love supporting local businesses. Our stay in Branson was short but if we could, we would have returned to Sugar Leaf to try more of their amazing and well-prepared fare. read more

We were not able to taste the food unfortunately, but it looked absolutely delicious so this review is based solely on customer service. The restaurant is adorable and smells amazing. That being said, we were the only people in line and there were multiple employees, but we were barely acknowledged. After standing at the counter waiting for someone to come help us for at least 10 minutes, we left. I understand that maybe only one person was able to run the register and she was doing something else during that time but it should be handled better. Waiting to have our order taken for awhile while being ignored by employees just doesn't feel very nice. Definitely recommend the manager or owner makes sure that the first impression customers get is a good one. read more

We would have loved this quiet and quaint little bakery/cafe if it would have been managed better. We left feeling sorry for the poor young girls running the place as there didn't seem to be anyone who was in charge. The first problem was the inconsistent menu. They were not serving quiche (first thing on the menu) that day but didn't tell you until you got up to the counter to order it. A simple sign that said "WE DON'T HAVE QUICHE" would have saved us the 20 minutes we had to wait in line while people had to decide what they wanted instead. Second, everything is covered in sriracha mayo. Why? Even my simple bacon egg and cheese had a thick layer of Mayo thrown on it. Lastly, they completely forgot the hot chocolate we ordered (we waited 45 minutes for our food) and they were trying to train new staff at the counter during a busy Saturday morning breakfast rush. The cashier kept leaving the register to go get the trainee (running around doing other tasks) to show her things on the computer. It was nuts. Barista was not very friendly which is the reason why I gave it 3 stars. I went to another coffee shop later that evening and the barista was extremely kind and friendly. There are a lot of options these days, so I only encourage these baristas to put a smile on their faces (well..under your mask) and bump up that customer service voice.
