The food was great. Everyone loved their dishes. We got chicken ramen. Beef ramen. Shrimp ramen, pho, and habachi chicken. The steamed pork dumpling appetizers were great as well. The staff was fantastic. A Karen was being loud and yelling. The staff and manager handled it perfectly. Then came by to every table around and apologized. Will definitely come back again with my family

We had a great dinner here! Loved the drinks and sushi was so fresh and delicious! Would definitely come back! The hibachi portions are also very generous! Staff were 10/10!

Excellent food! Casey, was my server and she gave outstanding customer service. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for Christmas.

We always have such an enjoyable time at Sugami! The chef is so talented and personable. We always enjoy dining with other and meeting new friend is this friendly atmosphere. Of course the food is amazing. The Hibachi is great but I found a new favorite... Tuna Hamachi. So fresh. So delicious. Can't wait to come back for my own plate!

    Sushi rolls!

Had a lovely dinner while in Myrtle on a long weekend. Looking for sushi and something for the kids. Lots of options on sushi rolls! Everything tasted fresh. Presentation was a little - over the top? Haha. Decorative. But food was good! Daughter had filet skewers and they were over done - but we got some teriyaki sauce and she said that made it better. Service was great - server was very upbeat and positive!

I got three sushi rolls. They were beautiful and delicious and presented very nicely. I am very happy and will come again!

Not cheap! But very good rolls! The food was fresh, service was fast and not intrusive. A good quiet place for lunch.

During a September 2024 vacation with a group, we went to Broadway on the Beach a couple of times. One of the nights the organizer of the trip wanted to go to a Hibachi place. My girlfriend & I didn't care that much about getting hibachi, and it's pretty expensive as hibachi tends to be. We ended up splitting a good amount of sushi rolls. It was a 3-roll combination, which came with soup & salad. I ate the salad & most of the soup, my g/f tried a couple of bites. We also added calamari, which my g/f ate more of, but she shared some. Everything was delicious. And we still got to see the hibachi show that the cook made, which was entertaining. Most of the group got the hibachi, but we weren't the only ones to not do the hibachi. Our sushi & food in general was solid. We also split a wine, which was good too. Staff was pretty nice, but a couple of things ran a bit slow, but overall it was pretty good service. At the end, we asked if they charge a credit card fee (as a lot of restaurants in Myrtle Beach did), and I had large wads of cash prepared to pay cash everywhere, and I was pleasantly surprised when they said no; so I paid credit here.

Last year, my family and I went to Yamato, and our entire party wasn't there yet. The restaurant…read morehad a policy that they wouldn't seat incomplete parties, and I completely understood and respected that. That was never the issue. The problem was the way the hostess treated me. She was rude, argumentative, and made me feel personally attacked. Because of the way she spoke to me, I asked to speak with the manager. She told me to "hold on one second" and went to get him. When he came over, I calmly explained what had happened. I wasn't asking to be seated anymore. I simply wanted him to know how I had been treated. I never cursed, yelled, or became abusive. We left peacefully. A few months later, we decided to give Yamato another chance and ate there in May without any issues. Today, we returned for my son's birthday. We had made our reservation two weeks in advance, and I even called earlier today to add one more person to our party. When we arrived, it was the same hostess. She recognized me, told me to wait, and went to get the manager. He then told us we had to leave "for security reasons" because of how I had supposedly treated the hostess last year. I was stunned. Last year, I simply reported what I believed was rude and unprofessional treatment. We had already dined there since then without any problems, so I don't understand why this suddenly became an issue today. Being asked to leave in front of my family on my son's birthday was embarrassing and upsetting. This is now the second negative experience I've had involving the same hostess and management. Based on my experience, I won't be returning, and I hope management takes customer service concerns more seriously in the future.

Highlights were the honey chicken, coconut shrimp, butter shrimp, pork dumplings, bbq ribs, and believe it or not, the dessert! Really good ice cream (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and maybe cookies and cream), banana pudding, chocolate pudding, cookies, sweet bananas... yum! We were there around 2pm so no crab legs, but it was still an excellent value. I would recommend skipping the Mongolian-style grill. The sushi was decent but I wouldn't go to this buffet if that's your focus - there are maybe 8 kinds. I enjoyed the salmon wrapped crab roll though. Not a date place, but I think the word buffet pretty much sums that up. However, it was clean and comfortable.

To start, didn't acknowledge my presence for several minutes once I was at the counter. There was no one else in the building a woman taking orders and a man cooking. No personality whatsoever! If that was the only problem - I could live with that. It was 9 o'clock and they close at 10 so I understand BUT - THE FOOD WAS DISGUSTING!!! I got the steak and chicken entree. Steak (dog?) was not edible full of grizzle and dry. Chicken (cat?) was also horrible - dry chewy. How hard is it to get the rice right? ABSOLUTELY GROSS! LOOK AT THE COLOR EVEN! Paid $17 and change left the change from a $20 as a tip for doing NOTHING! WORST $20 EVER SPENT ON FOOD!

This is the finest I've ever had in the state of South Carolina! My cousin from Florida also loves to eat sushi. He said it was the best sushi he's ever had anywhere! We were in town one Saturday night in June for a concert and wanted to try the local sushi. I asked Reddit for some good options and Koi was the winner. The setting was dark and quiet, which we enjoyed. Our server was excellent and helped me get my sushi just the way I wanted it (minimal/light rice). It did not take long for our rolls to come. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was out-of-this-world. So fresh and delicious. I didn't even have to use wasabi, which I usually have to use to offset the fishiness of some rolls. I didn't have to use much soy sauce either. I ordered the Mount Fuji Roll, the Kung Fu Roll and a spicy tuna roll, while my cousin ordered a Geisha Roll and a spicy tuna. The food, the service and the ambiance all made for such a wonderful time, that I am torn between going back again or just remembering it for its perfection! Be sure to bring cash since they do charge a credit card fee. They also have clean bathrooms and ample parking. It was totally worth the two-hour drive. Sure wish they'd open a Koi down here!

You will see that everyone has several inches between their backs and the back of the seat. Perhaps some pillows would help solve this issue but the restaurant has none available. Unfortunately, we'll look elsewhere next time we crave sushi.
