Dined here for my daughter's birthday this past Saturday night and we enjoyed our dinner. We ordered a variety of dishes to share. The Hokkaido scallop sashimi was delicate and delicious. The crunch of the caviar combined beautifully with the mild soft scallops. The pork tonkatsu was crunchy and delicious but the curry broth could've been thicker so the fried pork could keep its crunch longer. The kung fu roll was delicious and plentiful. The futomaki roll was enjoyed by my sister until on the last piece she found a stem or stick of some kind in the roll. We thought it might have been an avocado stem? I pointed it out to the waitress and she stated she'd let the chef know. We also got no recognition for it being my daughter's birthday despite including it in the reservation as well as advising the waitress when we ordered our drinks. The waitress was super sweet though and we liked the food aside from the stem. I would give it a 3.5 but rounding up since the waitress went out of her way to find out the name of the movie playing on their big screen for my sister who was interested in it. I wouldn't go back to celebrate a birthday though.

Get here early for dinner and you'll practically have the place to yourself for a bit. The dim lighting adds to the experience by making the space perfect for dinner with a partner or place to celebrate an accomplishment. The prices are very reason for the portions, especially for Myrtle Beach. Everything was delicious! I'm vegetarian but the friends I went with ordered the duck fried rice as an appetizer and couldn't stop raving about it. Our waitress was the perfect balance of attentive and giving us space so we didn't feel rushed.

So when we arrived at the restaurant, I arrived a little bit late my boyfriend and his brother and his brother's wife have already ate, and my boyfriend has already asked for a drink three times the same drink, and they still never brought it to him so I asked again. They never brought it again and he already had a drink on the table and he checked the expiration date and it was expired by a year technically two years because tonight is New Year's absolutely ridiculous. Very infuriating.

AWFUL TAKE-OUT! Literally TERRIBLE! We stopped by on a whim - who doesn't want to try the new sushi spot around the corner?! They told us they were fully booked for the evening, but the place was completely empty inside, so we sat at the bar and ordered a 10oz sake to share while we waited. The staff was very friendly but slightly confused about the sake menu. We ordered: Crispy Tuna Rice, Otoro upcharged sushi, King Salmon upcharged sushi, Spicy Tuna classic roll, California classic roll, Shrimp Tempura classic roll, Spicy Crab classic roll. The take-out order, with the 10oz sake and tip was over $210! Nothing was edible. Why bother going back?!?

Thought it was ok nothing special. I got the ginger salad and salmon sushi just thought it was meh. Price was average. Server was very nice.

Beautiful and clean. Service was too notch. Ambiance is really cool. Specialty rolls were not worth and and the general rolls were much better. Would have liked to see some more options for rolls But it was good and I would go back.

You are immediately struck by the beauty of everything inside when you walk in. A fresh looking decor that will stand the test of the years. The menu is a quad fold that surprises you by the hefty weight when you pick it up. The reason is quickly clear it is not only bound in leather but also lights up from behind when opened! I started with the most perfect truffle miso soup. The attendant (Bella) asked if I would like some heat / spicy - well of course why not! It was an orchestral moment on my tongue. Best miso I have ever had! Then I moved on to the smoked salmon roll , excellent the only mis-step was the soy sauce and requisite small dish arrived after I finished this roll. No matter it was solid. The next roll was a Chilean Roll it melted in your mouth! Quality experience with the best tasting ikura (roe) on top. It was well after 10pm on Saturday night and the clientele kept coming in waves. It's refreshing to have a go to spot open till midnight. I plan on being back many times.

The light up menu (closed)...very nice touch!

Loved the food, ambience and the service was awesome! Even in a short area power outage they were awesome! We had cute lights on our table, so my sister and I could still eat our salads and have our drinks which they didn't charge us for. Also, we loved the music and the movie clips on the big screen. Definitely worth a try!

I was excited to try this new restaurant. When I walked in the decor is just fabulous. It's about time. Myrtle starts to get restaurants that look and feel like you're stepping into a restaurant in a big city. we ordered different sushi and the chefs platter. Everything was pretty good. The staff was very friendly. The only negative thing is they had too many staff just waiting around, but I think that's just because they're a new restaurant.

The…read moreapproach is awkward and confusing, tucked away enough that you begin to wonder if you've accidentally wandered into the maintenance area instead of a restaurant. Once inside, though, the place is genuinely attractive. The dining room is bright, clean-looking, and modern, with a relaxed coastal style. The outdoor patio and beach view are the real stars. Sitting outside looking toward the ocean is exactly why people come to a place like this. The food was mostly good. The chips were thin and crisp, the guacamole fresh and homemade, and the salsa was simple but tasty. The chili lime bowls were fresh and flavorful, and the beach bowl and surf-and-turf salad were both very good. The kids' burger special with two little sliders and fries was a smart idea and worked perfectly. The margaritas were also good. The Salt & Lime margarita and the Flaca "skinny" margarita were both enjoyed by everyone at the table. Our server, Pierre, was excellent--friendly, attentive, and easygoing. And despite the name, no, he is not French. Unfortunately, the restroom was a real problem. The dining room looked polished, but the restroom was visibly dirty, with grime and stains around the fixtures and toilet. Fair or not, that always makes people wonder how careful the kitchen is as well. A restaurant can spend a fortune on light fixtures and ocean views, but if the restroom is neglected, people notice. Overall, Salt & Lime has a beautiful setting, good food, good drinks, and a terrific server, but the restroom and awkward entrance keep it from being a place I could fully recommend without hesitation.

My wife and I have been coming to Myrtle Beach for years, and every time we drive past JEM I always…read moresay, "We have to try that place sometime." The parking lot is usually full, which always felt like a good sign. Well... after years of saying "maybe next time," we finally stopped in -- and we're glad we did. We were in town for a few days doing some work at our place and decided to try something new for dinner. I checked Yelp beforehand to see if they had a happy hour menu, and they did -- and it looked good. We arrived around 5:00 pm. There were only a few cars in the lot at that time, and the building (which used to be a Pizza Hut) is easy to spot. When we walked in, we were told to sit wherever we liked, so we headed straight to the bar. The bartender greeted us right away, gave us menus and waters, and made us feel welcome. Since it was our first visit, we had a lot of questions about the menu. The food seemed like a fusion of Asian and Korean flavors, and we weren't very familiar with it. She was fantastic patient, knowledgeable, and very helpful. She even mentioned their Date Night special, which turned out to be a great deal. She made my wife an iced tea that was different than the usual but very good, and I had an Old Fashioned that was excellent. We decided on the Date Night Special, which is a prix fixe menu for two for $45. It includes one starter to share, a selection of small plates, each person choosing their own main from a list of six (two with a small upcharge), and a dessert to share. For our starter, we chose the Scallion Pancakes. They aren't really pancakes in the traditional sense -- more like a thinner batter that's deep-fried and served with two sauces. Both sauces were excellent, and the appetizer was a great way to start the meal. For our mains, my wife ordered the Bibimbap with chicken, and I had the Korean Fried Chicken (+$3). When they set the plates down in front of us, I looked at my wife and said, this looks really good -- why haven't we stopped here before? Her dish came in a shallow bowl with cucumbers in a sauce, thinly shaved carrots, kimchi, rice topped with an egg, and a piece of fried chicken with sauce. Mine came with coleslaw, fresh-cut French fries, and two chicken breasts covered in the same flavorful sauce. The chicken on both dishes was the same, and that sauce was outstanding. My first bite was literally, "Why have we passed this place so many times?" My wife loved everything on her plate, and I enjoyed every bite of mine as well. Our dessert, the Apple Crumble, came out before we were completely finished with our meals. This was really the only thing that could have been handled a little differently. Even though we didn't eat it right away, it was still good we just felt a bit rushed trying to finish our food so the dessert wouldn't get cold and the ice cream wouldn't melt. Overall, we found a new top-5 restaurant to eat at when we're in town. To top it all off, while sitting at the bar we were talking with a waiter named Logan. He asked where we were from and mentioned he had family there. It turned out he's a cousin of a friend who grew up with our son and was actually in our son's wedding. Just a few weeks earlier, they were all in Myrtle Beach for a bachelor party for his cousin. Small world! Don't be like us driving past for years and saying "maybe next time." Just stop in and give it a try. The food is wonderful, the service was great, and we will definitely be back.
