I've never been one to post reviews online, but I felt the need in this case. We Went there for the first time ever on Christmas Eve, and they were super busy. As someone who has worked in this industry, I recognized just how chaotic it was for the staff. However, the service from start to finish was impeccable. And the food was absolutely delicious. All of these folks had several people to deal with from moment to moment, yet they treated each interaction at a very personal and attentive level. I would like to give particular emphasis on the two ladies at the front desk/hostess stand. I believe one of them was named London if I recall correctly. Absolutely amazing service from them. And the bartender, her name was Tina. She was by herself and getting absolutely slammed with orders from the restaurant and people waiting to be seated. And while we were there, there was also an upset customer she was trying to handle a dispute with, yet she handled that, and everyone else waiting in queue, with absolute professionalism and kindness. The server, and the hibachi chef, were also very good and warm and welcoming. Very impressed with how everybody handled such a chaotic night. We will be back. And hopefully London, and Tina, and everyone else will be working because we know we're in good hands there. Thank you all so much for a wonderful Christmas Eve meal. This place is extremely unorganized. I called to make an order and I did didn't see on the menu where they have hibachi. So I asked about ordering hibachi to go because it looks similar to what we have in California called Benihana. They said they cannot take orders over the phone we had to come in and order and wait. So I came in after looking at the webpage knowing exactly what I wanted to order for sushi because I can't order hibachi. I asked what the deal was with the hibachi and they said that they don't do hibachi to go; only on Sundays. I said OK so then if people come in they can have hibachi any day? She said no it's completely random when they get a hibachi chef in. I said so in other words people have to call and see if you even have a hibachi chef? She said yes it's very frustrating for everybody. I said that's very unprofessional and I don't know how a business can do that. I was brought over to where I order sushi and the menu is completely different than their webpage. I asked the guy about the rolls that I wanted to order and I pulled up the webpage showing him that the menu they have here is completely different than online and the prices are different. I told the guy he needs to tell the manager that they need to fix their webpage so that it's accurate with menu items and pricing. So they get an F for them not keeping everything updated, no online or phone orders and not even having a hibachi chef that's on staff every day it's just ridiculous. When I gave the guy money to pay for my stuff he's sitting there waiting there as if I'm gonna tip him. You don't need to tip on to go orders.... you're not providing me a service that deserves a tip, plus he kept my change anyways. When I got my rolls I took them to go. Everything was great the manger was excellent she had several large parties and we was a walk in . The hostess told us we couldn't be seated due to the large parties we had. Dined here this evening with my dad and daughter and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed an orange blossom roll, lemon salmon roll, dynamite California roll, seafood dynamite appetizer, salmon carpaccio, and a shrimp and teriyaki chicken hibachi dinner. The sushi was fantastic! It was fresh and beautifully plated. My dad said the shrimp and chicken hibachi was delicious. The dynamite California roll was tasty and the lemon salmon roll was my favorite! They're creating a new menu but we were able to order off of both. The salmon carpaccio was sliced so thin and dressed with a delicious ponzu sauce. The service was attentive and the decor reminded me of Benihanas in Las Vegas. Made reservations for a party of 12. Our chefs name was Marlie and he was great at entertaining the whole entire group. The portions are large, so if you're one of those that likes lots of rice, this is your place. Everything was cooked to perfection, and don't worry about ordering dessert because you get a sherbet ice cream at the end that is included with the meal! But it was to the point it felt like we were being rushed out the door. From being offered boxes, to making the payment, to the offering of sorbet, it felt as if we were being pushed out the door and it was not a welcoming environment, which was unusual. The place is really clean and beautiful inside with great air conditioning (might want to bring a sweater). They don't have big, noisy, vent hoods like other Japanese Steak Houses, so that was nice too. We went during their happy hour and noted some good pricing on meals (but opted for a more expensive trio of proteins). Be prepared for a brick of fried rice (it's a LOT), but is not made with vegetables so expect plain, seasoned, fried rice. I wonder if they give you a lot of rice to distract you from slightly smaller portions of meat/seafood? The "show" was much better than the tired presentations you get at other places. Our chef was excellent and very witty. My husband and I were super excited to try this spot for his birthday. The ambience is nice and everyone we encountered was friendly. Our waitress was so sweet! However, our experience was not what we hoped for. We had a reservation and didn't know until we arrived that their hibachi grill was broken, which I'm sure was very frustrating for the establishment. That said, they were also out of several other items we tried to order. Additionally, I have a gluten allergy and they are NOT gluten friendly at all and their menu does not list allergens. I did order very simple rolls, which I was grateful that the chef was willing to modify per my request. Even then, we found the food to be just ok, nothing spectacular. If I could offer any feedback it would be to start offering even just a GF soy sauce to show that they are considering those who have true allergies or needs. I would also be more specific with the menu, such as noting that the crab is imitation crab, because that is important information for someone like myself. read more

we were a party of 8 and when we arrived they don't see our reservation. Red flags already. Due to it being slow we were able to get a table for the hibachi. 8 people we were squashed together where one person had to be at the point of the table unrelaxed. Then we were informed they are not allowed the serve bottles of wine only glasses at a Ripoff price. WOW you cant make the stuff up. Then the overpriced food where the meat was all fat and grizzle the rice undercooked and the shrimp overcooked. I was super impressed with the show here. I've been going to Japanese steakhouses since I was a kid & was excited to finally get a chance to take my toddlers. We all had a great time. I was hesitant to go at first, with how the service industry seems to be lacking/failing at so many places these days, but that was not the case here. The show was great & so was the food (taste & portions). They give you a TON of rice & nice size portions of everything else. You'll definitely have leftovers for the next day, maybe even 2 days. I did not feel like the show was rushed like other Japanese steakhouses I've been to. Happy hour is from 4:30pm-5:30pm with some good deals on food (I got the shrimp & chicken for $24), as long as you order before 5:30pm you can get the happy hour pricing. We had a party of six so we made reservations. We only had a ten minute wait for our table which seats eight. After seating, our waiter quickly came and took our drink order. When the drinks came, it was time to order our meals. Then the fun starts. Our chef was knowledgeable, entertaining and funny. The meals come with soup and salad with your choice of dressing. Went here a couple times before when it was miyabis and the sushi and hibachi were both great. Had a reservation but it was packed so went to the bar first. The bartender overcharged me by $3 for one of the specialty drinks that was listed right on the board by the bar and then gave me attitude when i called her on it and only gave me $2 back. When we sat the waiter asked if we had been before and we said yes back when it was miyabis and he said it was exactly the same. Same cooks, food, etc. Started off with a spider sushi roll that was soooo dry you could barely swallow it. I ordered chicken and shrimp and my husband ordered shrimp and scallops. The soup and salad were both good. The chef came out and it totally felt like he was just reciting a script and seemed bored. The veggies were good but the rice was so boring. Nothing in it just some soy sauce no egg or anything. Again super dry. I had ordered chicken and shrimp which had always been chicken breast but when it came out it was chicken thighs which I am not a huge fan of so my husband traded me his scallops which were decent. The Hibachi Chicken is my faviortye entree here, but they also offer a 6 oz seared scallops as a add-on to their house specialities which as are served with what they advertise as the Core Four, fried rice, miso soup,house salad, appertized shimrp and a dessert, which are all more than filling. From the spicy tuna roll to beginner sushi they have something for everyone. The portions offered are ample and large when compared to other sushi places. The worse part there were a couple of younger people at our table and all they did was texting on their phones. No engsaugment with the Chef, who was impressive with his skill and showman ship, I felt bad for him. I would wish they would seat you more appropatiely and keep these indivudals to their own areas. There are so few places left like this. The management and wait staff are so accommodating and really made my elderly parents feel special. My father is in his late eighties and does not go out much, except for this place because he knows they will easily accommodate his allergy needs and not draw attention to him. Had a great time at Aquino's! Food was amazing, hospitality was great, and overall the experience was so much fun. The drum squad came to our table at the end and gave us a solid dance off. I left a personal item behind and didn't realize it until I was packing to leave. The manager, William, was able to find it, and even went to get it shipped from Myrtle Beach to San Diego. I feel like every time this restaurant has changed its name it gets worse and worse. The food is expensive and subpar. We always sit on the sushi side and usually it is decent but tonight my server could obviously not be bothered to do her job. The sushi was warm from her not getting it to us when it was made. We were the only table in there aside from the two people at bar she rang in nigri when I ordered sashimi and instead of correcting it she literally just took the one piece of fish off the rice and gave it back so i paid full price for half the food. Very Rude manager. We spent $253 on very mediocre meal where they brought appetizer in middle of dinner service . I ordered sushi appetizer but got no small dish for soy sauce but others at table got. one person only ordered sushi but they gave her more attention and food she didn't even order. Meanwhile someone else ordered Filet mignon Rare that was over cooked to medium with no sauce or flavoring at all. The show was same at each table. Chef show for kids was ok but again rushed. wait staff was helpful pleasant saying no rush but then manager came and started clearing our table not asking if we were done. One person didn't get finish wine and another was still eating dessert and drinking sake. Slam bam thank you mam. Don't waste your money. Same rude attitude as China buffet but 10 times more expensive And food is blah. I told manager she was Rude rushing us off table but she just walked off said nothing and came back talking loudly saying it was time to set up for another 14 people coming in. Just a money machine for this restaurant manager and I feel bad for the people having to work there. No respect for customers, just want to rip you off and put you out the door. Just so unbelievably Rude. And overpriced besides. Stupid because only catering to tourists but being a local I can tell you I will never go back or ever recommend them to any visitors. There are 2000 other restaurants in this area better to choose than this place. We we're there early but didn't seat us for 15 mins and we were there for a little over an hour before they just cleared table forcing us to leave. For that amount of money for mediocre food and rude service in the end tourists better off spend a little more and go to Pirate Show dinner or Medieval Times dinner show at least get something for your money and not just booted out the door before you're even finished. Skip this place and take out from Ginza Japanese next to Publix. Total waste of money and incredibly Rude and obviously just don't care attitude. Local who will not return. read more
