SUGARPLUM EVENTS did an awesome job for my daughter's Baby Shower. June19, 2021 (RUGRATS THEME). I still have guests swooning. The food was so delicious, everything was done with the utmost professionalism. The entire staff was outstanding. Overpriced, limited menu and rude unprofessional attitudinal ppl. After agreeing to my requests at the price we discussed, Karen later called me with different prices from what we'd discussed. She began by saying that CDCs space for 150 exceeded the limit. That was her number initially given when I asked how many their space could accommodate as my guest LIST was 90 and of course not all would actually come. The ladies at SugahPlum Events were simply amazing! They were the definition of hospitality. They were kind, very helpful with great ideas and suggestions, extremely accommodating with updates and changes, they had a great eye for design & color combos, they are perfectionists and take pride in their work and it truly shows. They did the design and set up for our event at the DoubleTree Atlanta Airport and it turned out beautifully and exactly as I envisioned. I took a lot of cell phone pics which I will upload as well. Absolutely wouldn't recommend this business! Ordered his and her throne chairs from the owner for the sweetheart table for my wedding reception and she provided us with mix match chairs! They were supposed to be all white with silver trimming and as you can see--1 is white with silver trimming and 1 is ivory :( Just tacky and being that my decor was white, it threw everything off! Owner refused to take accountability and refused to refund the money paid to her, although this could've been avoided, had she provided the correct colors for the chairs that were stated in our contract and on the invoice! She wasn't present at the event so the issue was made known to her staff, whom said she would follow up with us and that never happened. So I had to follow up with her when I returned from my honeymoon and she stated that nothing could be done because the event was over. She at first stated I was lying because she "don't even have ivory chairs" but then I sent pictures and videos and she stated nothing could be done because the event was over :( She became rude and condescending! She was yelling and trying to argue because I wanted my money back! She threatened to sue me, if I posted a negative review about her business! SugarPlum Events is not the place to use for a special occasion. The ower is very unprofessional and lacks communicating directly with the customer. On the day of my event, it was a disaster from the beginning but Thank GOD it turned out to be a great party. No thanks to SugarPlum. I was told that the seating capacity was 125. There was only seating for 102 guests. The chairs were weak and wobbly. Thank GOD my decorator had additional chairs. The bartender was extremely late and had a nasty attitude; very unprofessional and rude to guests. Let's not discuss the restrooms. They were filthy and had plumbing issues; out of toilet tissue. Her attitude is horrible she is very unprofessional. Was not welcoming at all 2.) The kitchen is NASTY very unsanitary she had a pair of Sparkly Pumps On a rack where utensils were held! The refrigerator is disgusting it looks like it came from a dump. 3.) Our function started at 6 o'clock the restroom was out of Tissue no paper towels trash can was full from a previous event the day before! & KALEMA OR CALEMA HAD THE AUDACITY TO HAVE A ATTITUDE CAUSE I TOLD HER SHE NEEDED TO GET THE RESTROOM TOGETHER. 4.) The Gentleman that she brought along to help serve our guest was in the kitchen eating our fried chicken! BEFORE THE EVENT STARTED!!! we had no problem offering food to the gentleman however, to sneak and eat the food while your suppose to be setting up is unsanitary and unprofessional & just worng!!!! 5.)We made a mistake and left cake at the facility the next morning we called to get the cakes only to find they had been eaten which Kalema failed to tell us. 6.) Once our event started Kalema left came back 30 min later fully dressed and hovered over our event. Who does that??? 7.) Late post, but i am just recovering, having 2 events back to back is hard work! I hosted a dinner party and a conference with my company over a week ago at this event space. With the events being only 14 hours apart, i wasn't sure how they were going to pull it off as we had two truckloads of equipment to switch out within that time and the decor and schematic of the space had to be changed as well. The dinner turned out beautiful! The food was delicious, and the servers were kind and very efficient. The event space planner Khaleema even managed to arrange transportation for over 100 guest to travel to and from our hotels for both events. I was fairly concerned about the transformation that needed to happened essentially overnight for us to begin our conference by 9 am the next morning, however, Khaleema assured us that it would be taken care of. We returned promptly by 7:25 am and not only had the venue been morphed into our conference space, she also provided my staff with breakfast and coffee, free of charge! I was totally amazed with this little lady. The space was amazing, and was very versatile. In my business, you always expect bumps in the road and things to go not always as planned. Not this time! Everything went perfect for once! The staff was excellent, the food was delicious. Khaleema was a joy to work with, and i am looking forward to working with her again. read more

Sugahplum events is not the place to use for your event! The owner is very unprofessional. On the night of my event she started calling me 45 minutes before my party to get $150 for my chef using the kitchen. He wasn't cooking, he was setting up food to be served. She harassed me for 1 hour about getting another $150 for using the kitchen. What venue won't let you use the kitchen to set up food. Should the food be set up in front of the guest? Her bartenders were hitting on my guest asking for phone numbers. Any professional business owner knows that you don't harass your client 45 prior to their party. Don't be fooled by the decorations. **Disclaimer** Besides our incident with the owner, the venue was nice and the party turned out great - after the owner left. My mom recently celebrated her 50th birthday this past Saturday night. We rented the space in Fairburn, GA with SugahPlum Events. When signing the contract and taking the tour of the event space, everything was explicitly stated. We were told that the kitchen could not be used to cook food at all. We told Khaleema (the owner) that there would be absolutely no cooking because we had a caterer. On the night of the party at approximately 7:20pm (just a short 40 minutes before the party) Khaleema calls my mother stating that the caterer was using the kitchen to prepare the food and that he was not allowed to do so. She then told my mother that she would have to pay $150 because our caterer was "using the microwave to warm food." Now, if the food is already cooked, and one simply needs it to be warmed, that is not considered cooking. At 7:20pm my mom is getting dressed and ready for her party, and Khaleema calls my mother multiple times stating she would need to bring the money with her - no exceptions. Now, even had this been a charge we agreed to, it was not appropriate or professional on any level to call someone within minutes of their party, harassing them for money immediately. I then told my mother to finish getting ready and not waste any valuable time getting upset with this con artist. I spoke with Khaleema, who was very short and nasty in explaining her reasoning as to why we would need to pay an additional $150. My mother then spoke with our caterer who said that Khaleema was unbelievably rude, nasty and just plain unprofessional. She told our caterer that she would "shut the party down" if we didn't give her the money as soon as we arrived. No one wants to be minutes away from their party being harassed for a charge that isn't even valid. And to make matters worse, she was confronting the guests of the party asking many of them if they were the birthday girl. Which obviously means she was planning on confronting my mother at the party, which just confirms her severe lack of professionalism. She obviously doesn't understand that referral business is the best business you can receive. We have already had people ask about using the facility and we told them there is no way in good conscience could we refer someone to possibly incur the same thing. In conclusion, if the rule was that we couldn't use the kitchen at all, then it should have been stated verbally and well as written in the contract. Her overall approach was tacky and uncalled for. If this is the type of event coordinator you'd like to plan your special event, then by all means book SugahPlum Events. But if you'd like someone who isn't trying to intimidate, bully, and con you into paying additional money RIGHT before your event, then please steer clear of this unprofessional, lack luster, and frankly inappropriate "business." read more

Beware! We hired this company to coordinate and plan our wedding. Worst idea ever. Our wedding budget was $10k, they wanted us to pay them directly and they would deal with the vendors directly, cool. Our wedding was October 25, 2014....we hired them Feb 2014, by August 2014 this company had not booked not one single vendor! But they were in possession of $4300.00 of our money. They didnt even pay off our venue! Needless to say we fired them and they only returned $2700.00 of our money.
