I came here during my trip to sycuan. Overall the food was decent and the drinks were good! You don't make a reservation as it's first come first serve. Was an interesting ambiance as you could smoke hookah at the tables outside.

After being done for the activities for the day, we decided to try our luck at this new casino and after some games we went to this restaurant and it paid off! I was worried about their ratings here on yelp but after we went inside it kinda made sense: the issue is that everything here is kinda new so some inconsistencies is expected. However, our experience did not disappoint. The waitress was attentive and gave us some good food recommendations. The decor and ambiance is all clean with a Mexican theme with wrestling and ranch-like scenes. I had originally ordered one of their combos with a taco, but they had run out and ended up with their mixed fajitas. That's really tasty and filling. My spouse got the chile relleno with surf and turf taco and that really hut the spot (I tried a bite). Then when we were leaving, our attendant chased after us because when I was paying, I had dropped my earning from the games. This was cash! The fact that she came out and handed me my cash speaks volumes of their character. I am glad we found this restaurant while visiting this casino. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

I'm a fan of Suerte Cantina. My roomie picked this place to eat for lunch, so we drove out to Sycuan Casino on a Saturday afternoon. It looks like Suerte Cantina opened in November 2023. Their focus is on Mexican Food and in creating diverse, delicious, simple, but sophisticated dishes that represent all of what Mexico has to offer (from Baja California to Oaxacan inspired Mole Enchiladas). Between the 2 of us, we tried: - Fresh Guacamole - Flautas De Pollo - Fajita (with Beef, Shrimp, & Chicken Combo) - Enchilada (with Chicken) We each tried a different cocktail, but for the 2nd cocktail, we both ended up ordering La Calavera (with Mezcal instead of Tequila). Fave! The drink was made with Campari, Dry Curacao, Lime Juice, Agave Syrup, and Activated Charcoal. Came in a cool skull-shaped glass. We tried their Choco Flan for dessert. Food was delicious. Freshly made. Only complaint was that our table wasn't big enough for the food we ordered! Ambiance was casual and colorful. Service was fast and efficient. ENJOY!

My friend and I were at Sycuan for a concert and decided to eat here for dinner. Riley was our server, and she did an amazing job! We had a couple of cocktails - Paloma and margarita. They use fresh grapefruit juice. The burrito was bigger than I expected and was pretty good - chorizo, adabada and pineapple. It came with a side salad. I notice it was dry, so I asked for dressing. The only dressing they have is a jalapeño ranch. That was odd. My friend ordered the surf and turf tacos. Plenty of filling, the shrimp had a weird texture. Maybe they were overcooked?? Overall we had good food, drinks and service. We'll definitely be back.

We stopped in on a Thursday before a concert. Sat at the bar. It was slammmmed and very clearly not staffed appropriately for the rush. I felt bad for the 2 bartenders. Trying to serve the bar but also getting all the servers orders. One of them was new and he kept messing up drinks- so they kept coming back. CHRIS was a superstar bartender and server!!! Poor guy was trying to do the job of 4 people. He could hardly take a breath!! I got the chicken tacos and loved them. Husband got the cheese enchiladas and sadly.... They were.... Hardly edible. They seemed like they were previously frozen and then not cooked enough. We didn't have time to order more or send it back bc of the wait so he managed to eat most of it. We def will not order those again. Best part was the chips and salsa they give when you sit down!! 3 different salsas and a cheese dip!! The chips are seasoned and fresh!! We will be back for tacos. Right now they don't have taco Tuesday at all. Hope they can get staffed up and have one soon!!

Was at the Casino on a Saturday afternoon and decided to try the new Suerte Cantina! The inside is so fresh and filled with colorful Latino art and decor. They also offer patio seating as well as little stands for your coat or bags! Off the bat, our server Nico did an excellent job at recommending the best food picks and drinks. He told us that the Fajitas house platter was a good choice! On this day we chose not to get any alcoholic drinks, but they all looked very delicious! We saw how another customer was given a drink that was presented in a little case and it smokes out, so maybe we will come back and try that! Food: Complimentary Chips & Salsa: 5/5 Crispy and fresh chips made with tortilla. I could taste the oil on them HAHAH!! All the salsa given to us was good too, my personal favorite was the nacho cheese and the salsa verde! We finished it before our entrees, and Nico even offered us some more! Birria Tacos: 3/5 I'm a huge fan of birria tacos and consome, but their tacos did not hit I was a little sad because the meat was dry and hard to swallow. I still finished my food though. The consome lacked substance as well... it felt like it was missing something. It was just soup without all the other meat that you would typically have in it. I felt like I had to pour consome and salsa over my tacos to save myself from choking on the meat. Fajitas House Platter (Beef, Chicken, Shrimp): 4/5 I throughly enjoyed the fajitas platter, as it was paired with tortilla on the side and I made my own burrito with the beans, rice, meat and salsa given to us. My favorite was the shrimp!! To be honest the shrimp had more flavor than the beef(steak). For that, I rate it 4/5 because the steak was hard to chew through. There was some good pieces and some not. The veggies were perfectly seasoned to my taste palette. Overall, excellent service. I think the Birria tacos were not worth the price point. Fajitas are a yes, and they can be shared for 2 people! I will have to come back and try their drinks.

Came here to Sycuan for a quick trip and saw they replaced Elicit with Suerte. Overall, I think it was a good decision. First, I think it's good that they have a Mexican option now at Sycuan as it helps "diversify" the cuisines a bit more than the past. And Second, the ambiance was definitely a fun, cozy atmosphere and was a welcome addition for sure. Service was pretty good! Friendly and quick too. We did get our "appetizer" quesadilla after our entrees and the food runner called it "dessert" quesadilla lol Overall food was good, definitely really hefty portions. The highlight though was definitely the margaritas. Very good! Overall, if you are looking for a Mexican spot in the area, I definitely recommend this place

One of the benefits of this place is that it's pretty. I love the decor, with the art featuring notable Mexican artists such as Frida Kahlo. There's a wall of golden, which is a perfect backdrop for a gram post. However, the food and drinks fall short. Drinks: El Verado. Very heavy on the alcohol with not enough lime juice, tamarind, or syrup. I tasted the El Catrin, and the flavors didn't not go well together. My friend had this and she was so unhappy that she only took two sips. I even had the red blend wine, and it tasted like it wasn't fresh. Apps were super plain. Salsa was guacamole was bland, not enough lime, lemon, or salt! The fresh guacamole only had three chicharrones! I'm super disappointed. We also ordered the esquites, which had either lime or lemon juice in it. This does not compliment the dish at all, and we just took a few bites and left it alone. The shrimp tacos are a decent size and had the most flavor out of anything I've eaten. In an attempt to save this meal, I ordered the chocoflan. The flan was not creamy, had no caramel drizzle, and the chocolate cake was a tad dry. I've never felt sad after a meal. Customer service was good, however.

Our server Cindy was extremely nice and real with us which my group loved. The chips and salsa keep us coming back here because they're the best ever! They come with a few different salsas and warm nacho cheese. Each dish was so delicious, my favorite was the scallop aguachile, it was so spicy yet so citrusy and refreshing! The joe-rito was giant and great too. The only reason I gave this 4 stars was because the way the food came out was timed pretty poorly, we were half way done with our meals before my friends enchiladas came out which was unusual. Overall the vibe and ambiance is great here and I'd give them another try for sure.

Pleasantly surprised by this place! Came to Sycuan for a date night. Decided on Mexican and came to Suerte. We were seated right away and the greeter was awesome. The menu has a lot to offer. We ordered surf and turf tacos and chicken enchiladas. Every table is served chips and salsas. The salsas are sooo good! All fresh and very flavorful. Love the ambiance of the interior, very modern Mexican vibe, love the decor and the view. The drinks were great, even the watermelon Fresca. Service was great, food came out fast. We will def be back!

Came here on Mother's Day for lunch. Delicious salad! Great service! Nice and cool on the patio with an overlook of the pool area. Only minus was the drink was $17!! Would come again though

This place was AMAZING! I am usually VERY reluctant to try trendy Mexican restaurants, but this was an excellent choice. I come to Sycuan a lot, and patronize the other restaurants, but had never tried this one before. Came yesterday for the first time because we wanted something different instead of the usual Easter dinner. This did not disappoint. I had the chicken, steak, and shrimp fajitas and my cousin had the chicken enchiladas. They gave you a nice serving of meat, and not just an overabundance of veggies like most fajitas plates are. What was really a nice touch was the queso and salsa varieties that came with the complimentary homemade chips. Will definitely be back!

Cool place to have some drinks and food while gambling. The food was ok, didnt care much for the burrito and guacamole. The flautas were delicious though. Service was good, our server checked on us constantly.

It's beautiful... and that's the most appropriate comment I will type…read more My husband and I met Joseph in August of 2024 to plan our daughter's quinceanera that just took place on May 9th 2026. We went over the contract thoroughly, eventually deciding that we would bring our own vendors (taquero, DJ, photographer, baker, event decorator, and 360 photo booth), as I have known many of these people for years and have an established, trusting relationship with most of them. Joseph said that was perfectly fine, the only service that we had to use from his side was the bartender, which my husband and I understood. During this meeting we also met his assistant Patty and were told that she would also be helping us through this process, but that he was always available, and we would have his complete attention the week of and leading to the day of our daughter's celebration. Part of our contract states that we were able to bring the supplies/decor/spirits to the venue the week of the quince. So, on May 4th, my family and I filled the event room with the decorations et al, that we would be using for the following Saturday, the 9th. Every single day, Monday through Friday that week, my mom and I were at the venue, sorting through boxes, opening packages, putting the cake table pieces together, setting up the candy bar, making sure that when the day of came, everything would be organized and ready for the staff to take out to decorate. Friday afternoon (5/8) we met with Patty to clarify all of this. But first let me elaborate a bit more... My family and I had informed Joseph and Patty that we would be bringing some salads, fruit/vegetable platters, and items for a nacho bar that would need to be set up before we arrived. Joseph explained that he did not have enough staff to help with that (8 people doing various jobs, still unsure of what) and that either myself or a friend/family member would need to come and get this ready because he could not accommodate this. We were so grateful that our BAKER, who is not employed by the venue, was able to help with this since she was also arriving early to bring the desserts for the cake table. More on that in a minute. When we arrived at the venue the day of the quince, it looked beautiful, the tables looked ready, centerpieces, runners, etc. then I started noticing that there was so much more missing, and my guests were already walking into the party space. For starters, I did not see hardly any staff in the party area and Patty was unfortunately running around like a madman. She was feverishly trying to set up the luminaries and LED pillars we had brought for the garden walkway. I also noticed that the fruit/veggie/nacho bar table was not set up. I ended up rushing to the clubhouse where all of this was being stored and took everything out of the refrigerator myself. I encountered a staff member on the way back who said to me, "Oh are you the mom? Oh let me know what you need help with." My mind was absolutely boggled. Did my family and I NOT just spend the entire week here and leave detailed instructions? And then... While carrying said fruit/vegetable trays, I walked by the tables to notice that there were not any "reserved" signs placed. We had asked for two tables to be held for the immediate family. I had mentioned this to one of the staff, I believe Lily (she was very lovely) and said she would get right on it. About 10 minutes later I saw that the signs were there, but what I learned the following week was that one of the tables already had guests sitting at it and they were promptly asked to move to another table. Sigh... And then... Once my husband and I were able to catch our breath, we grabbed a quick drink. Jason was our bartender, very kind and solid drinks. While we were at the bar, Joseph came up to talk to us, telling Jason that someone got sick in the bathroom and that he had to stop serving hard alcohol for an hour. Mind you, the bar has only been open about forty-five minutes, and no one has had any shots or is intoxicated. We all disagreed with this but had to oblige. By this time, we were falling behind schedule and had to do the main entrance. Then I realized that I had not seen my daughter in almost two hours, the sun was starting to set, and we did not take any pictures with her in this beautiful space because we had to do the jobs that we had hired this venue for. In the end: No pictures with our daughter in this space that cost half our budget Staff enjoyed our taquero without checking to make sure all of our guests had eaten Saw photos of Joseph and his staff enjoying our 360 photo booth Learned that 80% of my vendors experienced an unpleasant encounter with Joseph My guests were unsatisfied with parking/golf cart availability Not enough restroom signage Reports from vendors state as of 2pm, tablecloths weren't even on the tables.

While checking in for our tee time, a member of our family who holds a Black Card with Sycuan Casino Resort was present. Another member of our party simply suggested contacting the casino host to ask about a potential complimentary round of golf, which is a completely reasonable and common suggestion for Black Card members who spend significant money with Sycuan. Trevor immediately responded in an aggressive and hostile manner. He raised his voice and told our group member that they "didn't know what they were talking about." His tone was confrontational, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. Instead of calmly explaining policy or offering assistance, he chose to belittle a guest in front of others and continued displaying a negative attitude toward our entire party. There is absolutely no excuse for customer service staff especially in a hospitality and golf environment to speak to paying guests in such a disrespectful and abrasive way. This was not a misunderstanding or simple miscommunication. This was blatant poor behavior and a clear lack of professionalism. What makes this situation even more frustrating is that every other employee we have interacted with at the pro shop has been courteous, helpful, and respectful. Trevor's behavior was a stark contrast and reflects very poorly on the standards that guests expect from a Sycuan-affiliated property. Guests who spend substantial money and support the Sycuan brand deserve to be treated with respect not spoken down to or yelled at. Trevor's attitude was inappropriate, unacceptable, and damaging to the overall customer experience. Frankly, if this is how he treats guests, his position in a customer-facing role should be seriously reevaluated. This experience left our entire group disappointed and frustrated, and it is not the level of service we expect from a property associated with Sycuan . The black card member will communicate this to his host.

Sadly there was no coffee machine so and our phone did not work they told us that you take your key card and you slide it in and at the front door and sadly that didn't turn on the phone so I had to use my cell phone to call front office and I told him the phone wasn't working and there was no coffee machine and he was telling me where it's at where it should be located at but we didn't have it so he went ahead and brought us a coffee machine didn't say anything else he said didn't downgrade us or anything he's like I'll be up to bring you the coffee machine So he came up brought the coffee machine was totally awesome Yes this is it was anybody else that we needed and there was nothing else we weren't leaving anything else and he gave us enough towels the most hotel rooms give you only two large or four large towels but if you have three people in the room you kind of expect to have more and their towels were really big not normally where sometimes I can't even put it around by chest whenever I take a shower so just to give you that idea but great shower lovely place I took some pictures of it and people were enjoying the night going out for a night dip in the pool please was beautiful had a little wanna be Starbucks in there the bar it was so great area Love you location maybe though like you were traveling. So I have to say John and his wonderful and beautiful customer service that he gave us was awesome The next day when it was time for us to leave we called up and John was there and we requested a luggage rack and he came up and brought us a luggage rack we were able to go downstairs and check out so smoothly You did everything with the smile it was wonderful ruined expecting that but we got a wonderful service for the job You deserves to be praised and we're praising him through Yelp. when we come back to El cajon will definitely stay at this hotel room it was big enough I mean big enough for us it felt like a sweet but not really but for us always ordering two beds we always get a double with this time we got cleans and which was nice. We have pictures to show you.

Skip ahead 2 years and it's run down, dirty, and staff doesn't care. The last time I booked, I contacted the hotel to cancel the stay, spoke to Sebastian (mentioned several times in reviews for being unhelpful), and attempted to cancel due to a medical issue that prevented me from traveling. He denied the cancelation, saying its policy and he couldn't change it and to call Hilton. I did, Who said that he could cancel this, but he didn't want to do that. He wouldn't reschedule this, cancel this, or work with me even being a diamond member. Other hiltons will cancel reservations when things like this happens, but this won't. Overall, skip this location by all means. It's run down, questionable cleaning practices, but on a plus, you don't have to go far for some food as it shares a parking lot with fast food options.

Thank you for making me feel so special--not because you had to, but because that's simply who you are. Your understanding, humility, and genuine care reminded me that there are still people who choose compassion first. You made me feel seen, valued, and welcomed in a way I'll never forget. I also want to extend my sincere gratitude to your boss. Great leadership is reflected in the people it inspires, and it was evident in every interaction I had. The culture of kindness, respect, and genuine hospitality that you both created made me feel like I was home. That's something money can't buy, and it's something I'll always remember. Please know that your compassion and the way you treat people leave a lasting impact. Thank you for turning what could have been just another visit into something deeply meaningful. I'll always be grateful. With heartfelt appreciation, Isabelle

I am increasingly disappointed with my experiences at Barona. Despite repeated attempts to enjoy…read morethis casino, the consistently low payouts on the machines have made it difficult to justify returning. Other casinos in the area offer noticeably better returns, and I struggle to understand why Barona is considered a favorite by so many. During my visit today, patrons repeatedly exited through an emergency‑only door to reach the parking lot. Each time, the alarm sounded throughout the building for approximately 15 minutes. No security staff responded or appeared to investigate. If this had been an actual emergency or attempted theft, the individuals involved would have been long gone. Barona should consider stationing a security guard at that exit or installing a barrier and clear signage to prevent misuse. It has also become apparent that the casino caters heavily to one demographic, leaving others feeling overlooked. The upcoming addition of new seating and another Vietnamese restaurant reinforces this imbalance. While the coffee shop has improved, it remains understaffed. To their credit, the employees who are present work hard and provide good service. I will acknowledge that the comps have improved recently, and most employees have shown better attitudes. However, I did encounter one staff member who ignored me while repeatedly assisting the Diamond line. When I asked if anyone could help, he responded "no" and walked away. Fortunately, another employee--Michelle, I believe--stepped in and assisted me professionally. Club Barona should strive for more consistent service across all tiers. At this point, I plan to take a break from visiting Barona. My husband rarely wins, and we increasingly feel out of place. I am also frustrated by the behavior of certain patrons who rush to take over machines the moment someone stands up, insert their player cards before a person has fully finished playing, or hover and stare to see what others are winning. I have even had people insert their card while I am still playing. This behavior only seems to happen at Barona and creates an uncomfortable, discourteous environment. Additionally, the machines are positioned too closely together, leaving little space to play comfortably. There are simply too many people hovering and watching. I also want to acknowledge the custodial staff. I have never seen so much spitting in trash cans or trash thrown on the floor. My husband has never seen so much spitting in the urinals. It is genuinely disgusting, and I cannot imagine the mess these employees have to clean up daily. They deserve recognition--and a raise--for dealing with this. Overall, your staff that walks the floor are great, but Barona has several operational and cultural issues that need improvement. Meaningful changes should be considered and implemented before I would consider returning. Instead of having security stare at players as if they are going to damage a machine--or whatever is being monitored from the eye in the sky--security should be walking the floor and addressing the rude behavior occurring daily. I truly hope Barona takes these concerns seriously and makes changes that create a fair, welcoming environment for everyone. Many longtime players I know, including high‑money players who once visited regularly, refuse to return until improvements are made. Continuing to cater to only one demographic is both inconsiderate and detrimental to the business.

This review is specifically about the pool area, particularly the swim-up bar. The pool has become my favorite staycation spot, and I genuinely love the food, music, drinks, and overall vibe. Up until this visit, I had never had an issue with any of the staff. Unfortunately, my friend and I had a very negative experience with one of the bartenders at the swim-up bar. We sat patiently for about 35 minutes waiting to be helped. During that time, the bartender was primarily serving one side of the bar as well as guests swimming up directly to him, while our side was consistently overlooked. A nearby group even mentioned that he would be coming to our side shortly, and he confirmed that he would. However, when he finally came over, he skipped past us and helped a couple who had just swum up to the bar. My friend calmly said, "We just wanted to let you know we've been waiting for about 35 minutes." In response, he sarcastically said, "You and everybody else... feel free to go to another bar." My friend awkwardly laughed and said, "Okay, okay." What was most upsetting was that after serving another couple nearby, the bartender referred to my friend as "bitchy" while speaking to them. We were honestly shocked. It was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and offensive, especially considering my friend had spoken respectfully and calmly the entire time. I have visited Sycuan many times and have always received excellent service, which is why this experience stood out so much. I hope management addresses this situation so that other guests do not have a similar experience. The bartender's name was Martin. I still love Sycuan and will continue visiting, but I wanted to share this experience because it did not reflect the level of hospitality I've come to expect from this resort.
