After I hinted I had never been to a spa in my life and it would be neat to try it out, the fiancé took the hint and gave me a gift certificate to Sueno Spa at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel. The experience started with my obsessive reading of the businesses' website (yes, I can be one of those people). There, I found all the information I needed: spa treatments, packages, brief descriptions, current prices, and contact information. I was able to email and ask a few questions back and forth before I easily booked my appointment I appreciated the fact that I received an email confirmation with directions on how to access the spa (please ask front desk for a key), and tips on finding parking. My appreciation increased when I received a reminder call 24 hours before my appointment, restating the important information. Personally, I thought it was very well kept and beautiful space and fit very well with what I was looking for: a solid first-time spa experience, without over the top in luxury or aesthetics. A couple of small rooms for massages/facials separated by thick black curtains, and (from what I could see) chairs in the back for manicures and pedicures. I felt well taken care of after I mentioned this was my first time ever at a spa. I had help in picking a type of facial that would work with my skin, and the lady let me know what she was doing every step of the way. She checked in on me periodically to see if I was comfortable; I did feel so comfortable that I actually drifted in and out of sleep...probably drooled in the process. I was the only one in the spa (whether it was by design or because there was only one esthetician on that day), but it almost felt like I had my own private spa. There are a few things that are worth a cautionary mention for anyone wishing to visit. You are warned ahead of time that you will have to pay if you choose to park at the hotel or nearby street parking. (I honestly think it would be nice if spa patrons were able to park at the hotel for free or even a discount, but that is just me). Secondly, the spa is located right next to the hotel gym and swimming pool, so I did hear the kids' yelling. Personally I didn't mind that at all, and I did appreciate the spa trying to combat the sounds from the pool by playing the soothing music at a higher volume. I was so relaxed by the end of my session that the hardest part was getting up and walking back to the car! Overall, I would say that Sueno Spa is a place that meets all your needs and delivers on great value if you are able to look past the parking and hearing all the activity that is going on at the pool next door. While I am still not the type to frequent the spa, I did walk away from a great first experience, and I would not say no if the fiancé wished to gift me another gift certificate to Sueno Spa for an upcoming birthday/anniversary/holiday. read more

My dream come true: extra star for accepting Amex plus a surprise benefit (that's how businesses get my coveted 5 star lol). First off, a wonderful, cozy ambience inside the Guildford Sheraton hotel. Front desk super friendly in giving out the elevator access card to get to the 2nd level by the pool... Not only do they offer great facials using Eminence products -- all natural, hence the plethora of stars here -- but Loretta is super friendly, knowledgeable, think she's been in the business for over 20 years. I prefer experience over new rookies touching my face lol. So here's the surprise benefit: you get to use the pool and hot tub right next door, with an exposed roof so you really get in all the fresh air! Cozy little spa inside the Sheraton. Can't beat their Eminence facials here for $45. Great selection of normal polish colours for mani and pedi's. Rooms are separated by curtains. Brazilians are cheapest here but downfall is only one girl does them so maybe hard to get in at times. Tea is served in styrofoam cups and lack a nice hang out area so maybe not the best for a spa hang out day (there's overpriced spas for that). The girls are nice and service is great. read more

For starters, the spa is located on the 2nd floor in the fitness centre. You need to get a key card at the reception area before you can go to the spa. Look for the fitness centre and you will find the spa inside. Also, it is paid parking at the hotel. I just enjoyed a $35 one hour facial special they are promoting. I picked the large pore - sour cherry facial. The facial included steam, cleansing, extraction, mask, moisturizer and scalp, face, shoulder and arm massage. My aesthetician was very thorough with the extractions and massage. I really enjoyed the overall experience. The spa is small. There is no private rooms. Each spa bed is separated by heavy duty curtains. Yes, you do hear other conversations going on. However, you have to look at the price. It is half the usual prices I have paid in Surrey for a facial. So my expectations is adjusted accordingly relative to the price. The place is clean, the bedsheets were fresh, and they use Eminence products. I rather have a thorough facial that is done properly in a clean environment. Came in for a massage and facial. The rooms have no doors, just curtains so you can hear everything that is going on during your treatments. My massage was mediocre and only one side (back) of my body was massaged, the front was not massaged at all, I was left alone in the room while the mask was on. Ordinarily, the practitioner will out the mask on then massage your hands or your scalp or neck and shoulders but that did not happen. The practitioner made rude comments about my mascara and she let me know that she was still a student in cosmetology school so I don't even know if she was certified. Sueno Spa is my new hidden gem. It's not luxurious like certain facilities in downtown hotels, but I'm paying nearly 1/3 of the price for what I need, a facial without the frou-frou. Rooms like other mentions are divided by thick curtains. You can't see through them, but they are thin. There's also a pool nearby and you can definitely hear people. If you're not bothered then it's definitely worth going. The spa uses Eminence Organic Skin Care which is a line I haven't tried before, but now like. Facials currently start at $45 for a full hour! Such a deal. So far, I've tried the Chocolate Hydrating Facial and Antioxidant Blueberry Soy Facial which have been great. Found a groupon for a set of 5 brazilians ($85 only! So cheap! :D) for this place so I decided to try it out. Its situated in the Sheraton Hotel on the second floor. The place is pretty clean and easy to find (dont be hesitant to ask the hotel staff!). Both times I've been here the people working have been great, I find them to be quite professional and they talk to you to distract you from whats going on below :P Despite the bad reviews I've had a pleasant experience here. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because its annoying to have to go through all the locked doors to get to the place but all in all im quite happy, will definitely be back. xx read more

I went to Sueno Spa for the first time today. My Esthetician's name was Kristina. She was very professional and made me feel comfortable throughout my Brazilian wax, underarm wax and eyebrow wax. Was done in a timely matter and made it almost painless. Very happy with the results. I have been waxing for 20 years and will definitely go back to see Kristina! She also gives a 5 star pedicure. I had a Groupon for Sueno Spa and their regular prices can be reasonable. However, with or without a Groupon or promotion, I wouldn't go back to this business. I had to wait 3 months+ before I could schedule an appointment. This is ridiculous, especially when Sueno Spa is ALWAYS selling Groupons at regular intervals. Is this business financing itself with Groupons and unable to keep up with demand? That's how it seems. How many Groupon customers just forfeit or forget the Groupon with the spa in frustration? Sueno Spa is at the Sheraton Surrey in a very odd location which really must be seen to be appreciated. It's inside the hotel's gym, in a corner, between a pool and weight room. A key must be acquired at the front desk to access the gym, which we only learned after wandering around the hotel and finally asking someone. The Spa is not well signed. The pool is noisy with children screaming and playing. The spa is low budget. It is cramped and there are no fancy pedicure chairs or foot spa. The massage beds are separated with simple black drapes. When receiving our pedicures, a base coat was not applied. The finish of the polish on my toes looks uneven. I'm not sure if this is due to inadequate prepping or lack of base coat (or both). read more

I go here once a week They let you use the pool if you have a spa appointment which is great since The pool is all year heated and on the roof top which is great for fresh air. Visited Sueno Spa for a wax and pedicure. It is not the most luxurious spa (the view infront of the pedicure station is of a sink, the backroom, and a broom/dustpan) and I did not like that the pedicure was in a large silver bowl instead of the traditional pedi chair with jets. Overall, the prices are VERY reasonable, service is fast, and they always have monthly specials. I will be back! read more

Oh how i love you so! So I started going to Sueno and my gal is the best in the biz. Her name is Loretta. She is just so warm and has always made me feel comfortable. I rave about her to my friends cause she talks to you and you kinda forget what your there for lol. She is very thorough and you can tell (and she has said) she takes pride in what she does and she does it well. I mean it still will always kinda hurt but she makes it easy for you to handle and shes just lovely! Now the brazillians are 35+tax but your in a nice calming room with spa music playing and comfort cant get any better in this situation. The quality of person and service is worth the money!! As for the hair stuff, ive gone once and had my hair dyed but they wouldnt blow dry/ straighten it for me which i have never heard of before and its def a money grab. This is straight from the website: * Quick dry-offs are included by an assistant. We will provide brushes and blow dryers for use if you wish to style your own hair. Sueno is a cozy little spa inside Sheraton hotel in Surrey. It always smells so nice inside and the atmosphere is always spa-like, quiet and relaxing. Great staff & they always have specials going on. I had an old Groupon that had expired but they honoured the value. I've had 3 facials done here, and always leave feeling refreshed and glowing. I had a mani-pedi done last week and the esthetician did an amazing job on painting my nails (perfection)! I liked how they had a lot of selection for nail-polishes. They carry CND Vinylux (better than OPI in my opinion). I took one star off due to them not having a proper pedicure machine that holds hot/warm water. Sueno uses bowls filled w/ hot rocks instead. And street parking is annoying esp in the cold. Regardless, I'll def go back for more treatments. read more

It was my first time to come here for their summer special ($35.00 for 60min eminence facial) and it was a bad experience. The esthetician who did the facial left me after she put the mask on my face which is not suppose to be. I know I am only paying $35.00 but I had been to many other spas and they massage my scalp,arms or feet while the mask is on, they don't ever leave me. To make matters worst, I can hear her and the other staff gossiping and giggling (hello?), I am suppose to be in a relaxing and quiet environment. And the staffs know too that they don't have closed rooms, the rooms are only separated by curtains (no solid walls) so I can fully hear them and what they are talking about, very unproffesional. Good prices, bad service! stay away , I use to get full face waxes and they did such a bad job i had scarring on my face in more than one spot. usually it was only one spot they would mess up on and it was a small sensitive area, however the last time I went it was just horrible, so much scarring near my mouth mainly. I now go somewhere else where they are maybe trained properly? Anyways if you care about your face, maybe the waxing is not the only thing they arnt properly trained in. I am just happy my scars healed, after maybe a week. Also at times they would not even take off the excess wax that was left over on my face. And another thing, I had forgotten my hair tie once and they had nothing to keep my hair back while waxing, they actually got wax IN my hair...very relaxing experience? I think not. I had purchased a coupon and what they don't tell you is that they place you into the less popular times and it took over a month to get an appointment for a pedicure.
