I really wish I could give zero stars. This man is working out of his house, for one. As if that…read morewasn't sketchy enough, he never discussed how much the repairs to my laptop were going to be before doing them. He only gave us an amount after he started the repairs. He said the diagnostic was free, and that's all he said. By the end of him fixing it, it took almost a week to put in a new SSD and replace the disc reader. Oh, and clean it on the inside. He made sure to tell us all about how dirty it was inside, which made sense because we bought it used. He kept telling us every time we spoke on the phone about how nice the laptop was and listing all of the components to us in the process. In the list, was the 16gb of RAM that is stock on the laptop. When I finally got my laptop back, it was super slow, had a different version of windows than it came with, and had a bunch of random stuff downloaded on the desktop. My only concern was that it was so slow, so I looked in the computer information and it only has 8gb of RAM installed now. We called him and asked him about it, thinking he might own up to it saying he forgot to put it in or something, but he doubled down and said there was only 8gb installed when he received the laptop, which I know wasn't true. I specifically remember him saying that there was 16gb of RAM and now all of a sudden there was only 8gb when he got it. Moral of the story, make sure you look long and hard at all of these bad reviews before you make your decision on whether or not to patronize this man's business. Do it at your own risk.

Unfortunately, my computer began to slow down and became very unresponsive, which made me extremely anxious since I don't have an IT team to turn to. I found Acamar Computer Services on Yelp and decided to contact Evan based on his excellent reviews. Everything I read was accurate! After explaining the urgency of my situation, Evan was able to see me that afternoon. During the consultation, I mentioned that I was prepared to hear that I needed to buy a new computer, considering I had purchased mine in 2021. However, after just a few minutes, Evan informed me that my hardware was in good condition. He only needed to address the "software bloat" to get my computer back in order. He also assured me that once this was done, I would likely have another two years before needing to worry about replacing my computer. We spoke on a Friday, and he kindly asked if I needed my computer back over the weekend or if I was okay leaving it for him to start working on it the following Monday afternoon. I chose to wait until Monday so I could finish a few more tasks. I dropped off my computer on Monday evening and picked it up the next day. Evan took the time to explain in detail everything he had done and how each change improved my computer. Evan is extremely talented, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. His pricing is very competitive and well worth every dollar spent. His primary focus is on delivering exceptional customer service, which is exactly what Acamar provides. I informed Evan that he is now part of "The Chrysalys Team" and will be my go-to IT professional for all my computer needs moving forward. I cannot recommend Acamar highly enough. Evan is a lifesaver!
