Sue saved our home loan! My family cannot express our gratitude enough for her kindness and the professional service she provided in the loan process. After signing the contract, everything looked OK and we sync-ed with the former loan agent closely and regularly. Unfortunately, the former loan agent told us our loan won't be approved by their underwriter, just less than 4 weeks before closing the escrow. You know how stressful it was! Pre-approval and commitment were fine with the former loan agent's bank. The former loan agent referred us to Sue. It was weekend. Sue patiently answered our questions and worked around the clock for our loan application. She explained the loan steps in great details and she also assured us that our loan would be approved by their underwriter. We followed the steps: providing many documents, buy home insurance, appraisal, closing the escrow. Luckily, we successfully closed the escrow! You cannot imagine how exciting we were and how many hurdles we've overcome. The loan "journey" includes a lot of paperwork, time, and processes. That's why you get a pre-approval easy but an underwriter approval hard. You need to have a loan agent who is sufficiently knowledgeable, sufficiently conscientious, and sufficiently considerate so that you get your loan finally approved. This is especially true that your case isn't the easiest one. In the market, agents tend to hunt for the easiest cases but usually they lack the considerations and compassions. Sue helped my wife and I purchase our 1st house & was a tremendous help in getting through the whole process. She was willing to meet with us at allhours, including a sit down with my wife and I on a Saturday to go over the whole process. She also joined me while I was signing the final paper work at the Title Company and helped clarify a few problems. My loan was certainly far from a simple loan to process. I was getting a Fannie Mae Homepath loan and also qualified for a MCC, so there was some additional paperwork and headaches. Qualifying for the MCC delayed my loan for almost a month, as funds were not availablle as soon as was initially stated. Sue stayed on top of this, however, and made sure my MCC was properly filed as soon as the funds were available. The only issue I had was that Sue calculated my DTI slightly different than the underwriters and I had to juggle some monthly bills a little to qualify per the requirements of the Homepath loan. While my loan process did not go 100% smoothly, I always felt that Sue was there to support me and always responded promptly if I had any questions. We don't have enough credit cards to support credit lines, and we just moved to US a little longer than two years ago. Sue helped me find other credit source and work with CITI to nail them down 2. It should be noted that generally i really dislike Wells Fargo customer service but I still use them since Sue makes it worthwhile. Let me detail the positives & negatives with my experience: 1) Was able to remove lender contingencies in 8 business days. She got the lender appraisal out there immediately and called the MCC contact every day to make sure everything was on schedule. 2) Very responsive - I think I called her once while she was in line at the grocery store. In looking at the other reviewers down below, I think communication is a two-way street. It would be nice if everyone instantly responded to their emails but when making the biggest purchase of your life, I think you'd be calling your vendors multiple times a day if you're not getting the service level you expect. 3) Very knowledgeable and attentive to detail - she caught multiple errors in my filing that would have potentially delayed the process, or at worse, made me ineligible for the MCC filing. 4) Very good follow-up. Even after the process was done, she sent me an email and called me about next steps on how to file my taxes next year :) The only con I had was that I felt I wasn't getting the best rate possible & considered going with a direct lender. But considering how slow direct lenders are & how they're unfamiliar with MCC procedure, sticking with Sue was a no brainer for me. Btw, she's no longer with BoA. Sue was highly recommended to us by our real estate agent, Edmund Yue, and we met her while securing a loan approval for buying our first home. It took us a year and a half to finally buy our home, and during that time, we had to ask Sue at times to draft an updated approval letter for us. She always did it quickly, no complaints or anything. Whenever we asked her questions (and we had a lot, being first time home buyers), she would patiently answer them, and even give us tips and pointers for buying a home and which properties to avoid. Before making an offer on a home/condo/townhome, we always ran it by Sue first and she would check in the system to see if there was any hidden liens or litigation on the property for us. When our offer on a home was finally accepted, Sue was highly professional and continued to answer our many questions. We decided to put more money down in the middle of the process, and she quickly adjusted the documents to reflect this. We later found out that the underwriter almost didn't approve our loan because of a technicality (not because of funding), and Sue fought hard for us,even bringing in her manager so that we could get approved. She also surprised us on the title signing day by driving all the way over (her office was an hour away) to be present and make sure all the loan documents were correct. The title officer commented that loan officers generally don't attend these meetings, but Sue said she always did. She also surprised us with a lower interest rate that she managed to secure for us (without our knowledge) during the loan approval process, which saves us about $40 a month in interest. That adds up over time! Sue worked very well with our agent Edmund, and together they made a fantastic team. She was personable and treated us like family, not like business clients.
