Nhan Cao is an incredible mortgage broker! He made the impossible happen and got my loan approved and closed while I was literally in the hospital about to give birth. We officially closed on our house the same day my baby was born. Talk about stress-free and reliable! Nhan was professional, responsive, and on top of every detail. We closed on our first home today after exactly 10 days!! We were already in contract with a different lender for 2 weeks before reaching out to Nhan when we needed a second option in case something happened. Despite the fact that we might end up staying with the original lender, Nhan got to work immediately on a Friday night and was able to let us know our options. At the end, we were offered even a better rate than before! Nhan has gone above and beyond to help and guide us through the stressful process of first time home buying. Nhan kept us informed on every step of the way, updated us on the next steps, and was extremely responsive to all of our questions even on weekend. We cannot thank Nhan and his team enough for being such a joy to work with. We considered ourselves lucky to have known and worked with Nhan. This is the first, but definitely won't be the last! read more

We just closed on our house and it's all thanks to Nhan! He has been amazing to work with from the moment I first reached out to now. We actually started working with a different broker when we got under contract, but ran into issues in underwriting 2 weeks before we were supposed to close. I scrambled to find someone else and am so glad that person was Nhan. He helped us to get conditional loan approval in ONE DAY. I couldn't believe how fast and smooth the process was. Nhan is knowledgeable, honest, detail-oriented, and above all communicative. His responsiveness to texts and calls put my mind at ease in such a stressful situation. I really appreciate the level of support he provides his clients, and will definitely contact him for any future purchases we make. I'd also like to call out that he was able to help us lock in one of the best interest rates compared to other brokers I inquired with. Thanks Nhan! read more

Although there are many 5-star reviews, my experience with Nhan Cao was not pleasant. As a customer unfamiliar with the loan process and paperwork, I naturally had concerns and asked for his assistance. Instead of offering support, he told me I was the most bothersome client he had dealt with. Besides, in the paperwork, we agreed to a specific fee, which Nhan Cao charged through my bank account. However, later in the process, he requested an additional payment in cash. There was no written agreement or documentation for this extra amount. Although I was uncomfortable, I went along with the request at the time. Later, I spoke with a friend who works in the real estate field. After reviewing my paperwork, they informed me that this type of transaction was illegal. I then did my own research and found that under California Business and Professions Code § 10176, real estate licensees are prohibited from accepting or demanding any undisclosed compensation or secret profit. Violations of this law are subject to disciplinary action by the Real Estate Commissioner, which is exactly what happened in this case. Unfortunately, it was too late to notice this fact, since I had already switched to a new agent before being aware of it due to the loan's interest for every month being too high (above 10%) and that person was able to lower the loan. Therefore, I'm sharing this experience to warn others: if a realtor asks you for an extra amount in cash, please don't follow their instructions unless everything is clearly documented in writing and legally justified. Protect yourself and review all agreements carefully. read more

First Stop Mortgage made my loans: fast, smooth and cost-effective. Since 2023, I had 3 loans with Nhan Cao. One was a refinance for my primary home, one was for an investment property and one was for a property in which I was a coborrower. I like to work with Nhan because he knows what he is doing and he knows which options are the best for the customers. My loans were closed quick with competitive costs (closing cost + total interest cost until the next refinance loans). He handled the process professionally and responsibly. He responded on the weekend and even when he was on his vacation. I expect to have more loans with First Stop Mortgage in the future at least 3 refinance loans next year when the rate should drop. If you are a busy person looking for a "private" loan broker or a first time home buyer, First Stop Mortgage is an excellent choice for you. It is my first choice. read more

Today, I signed the paperwork and closed the loan process. It's a joy on the last day of the year. I had a horrible experience with Wells Fargo for the pre-approval, underwriting, lender. But my life has changed since I found FIRST STOP MORTGAGE. FIRST STOP MORTGAGE was referred by a friend who worked with the company before and had a smooth transaction so I didn't need to shop around a lot and was confident to get my application approved after the first evaluation. My mortgage application is more complicated than normal, but Nhan - the entrepreneur and owner of the company - solved any problems or issues that we faced during the process. Our loan processer Leon Thai followed through with this case. He checked every step along the way to make sure that I didn't miss anything. He's a great contact between the client and lender to update any progress. Our mortgage loan has been approved on time even though there's ton of work in the process. I recommend you get in touch with Nhan or his team for your loan process or refinance. It will be an easy process for you. The team has filed many cases. read more
