It has been over a year since we bought our first home through Tuan- it's my fault for forgetting to write this earlier but he was so great that I had to come back and do this. My husband and I came to Tuan after being dissatisfied with our prior agent, who made a number of mistakes on our written offers that we managed to catch the night before submitting (which as you can imagine, is pretty nerve-wracking when you're a first-time home buyer!). When we first met Tuan, he essentially told us "some people make mistakes. I don't." And I can say that throughout the entire process, Tuan never made a mistake. Without Tuan, we definitely would not be in our home today, and I can not recommend him more as an agent and friend. From the very beginning, Tuan put in 110% to help us in our search, including driving out over an hour the day after he met us to review a house that we were interested in, taking detailed pictures and providing much more information and research on the house than we had ever received from our previous agent. Our previous agent was very highly reviewed on Yelp, and had all the right answers when we interviewed him, but Tuan is both very highly recommended and (and I cannot stress this enough) will put in the time and effort to really help you in your search. We got the sense that our previous agent was so busy that he didn't really put much effort or attention into our search, and in the Bay Area, that is a huge disadvantage. Tuan is AWESOME! First of all, i'm a simple guy and not impressed with fancy stuff & I appreciate when I work with "genuine" people. I've worked with previous realtors with our first home and was not impressed with their style. Everything was about making a commission and not about what was right for my family. The only problem with the VA loan is that VA inspectors are real meticulous about the condition of the home that sometimes escrow takes up to three months to close as opposed to other traditional loans that usually closes in about a month. Because of that, Realtors/Sellers usually pass up bids from buyers with VA loans. We put in several bids on different houses. Despite not getting into contract, Tuan continued to help us search and submit other offers.
