After visiting Starbrite Laundry in Glenwood Springs, I can see there is a definite contrast compared to Wavemax near Denver. Wavemax has plenty of space with benches and tables, TVs (showing cartoons), and outlets for charging devices. Starbrite is cramped, lacks seating unless you don't mind being in someone's way, and one tiny tv that wasn't turned on. Starbrite is expensive! 25 cents gets you four minutes on low dry temp vs approx $2 to dry for nearly an hour on low temp at WaveMax. However, Wavemax requires that you load a credit card type of device while Starbrite requires quarters. No detergent is sold at either place, so good things we stopped at Target beforehand for a small box of eco-friendly detergent sheets. Service was friendly and helpful at both locations.

We had multiple shirts that were grease stained by their press machine and one brand new shirt with the tag still on it completely ruined. The owner actually argued with me that the stain was on the shirt when they got it, nice try. They never took responsibility for any mistakes and consistently continued to charge for non pressed shirts. So frustrating to take a load of shirts down to be cleaned and they are still completely wrinkled, with a jacked up collar when you pick them up, yet they still charged me over $100. To top it all off, you feel like you are a bother when going in because everyone who works there is so grumpy. I would drive an hour + before going here again. Unreal...

Before I left, I asked for an estimate, just to make sure I was prepared. The young lady told me $10-$12. I did question her because I thought, wow, that's very inexpensive for a quinceanera dress. She looked at a piece of paper on the counter and said, it should not go past $30-$35. Two days later I have someone pick up the dress, as I was driving back to Colorado. I got a phone call and said the dress would cost $207. I was not very happy, but they would not give me the dress unless I paid $207. I had no choice but to pay for the dress, my niece's Quinceanera was the very next day. On day of quince, we are getting her ready for her big day, and low and behold only the top two layers of her dress looked presentable. All the tulle underneath of the dress had not been touched. It looked just the same way as when we took it out of the bag it was delivered in. She had no choice but to wear it that way. Yes, you could tell that the dress was not properly steamed. This was supposed to be a beautiful day in her life, instead she was super sad that her dress didn't look beautiful. Before this lovely story happened, my sister ordered four tuxedos from the same Kilbanes cleaners. That was another horrible experience. There was so much confusion, the tuxedos didn't actually come in, only the jackets. My sister had to buy white shirts and each of the young men had to wear their own black pants. All they kept saying every time they made a mistake, was that they have new people on board. I understand "to error is human", but at least make it right. Instead of them trying to make everything right for our family, the owner was such a horrible person. I truly believe she should never be in customer service. I did business with Charlie who used to be the owner there for years, for my office. I have always recommended Kilbanes whenever someone needed a dry cleaner, because of Charlie. Now, I want to let everyone know, Kilbanes is not the wonderful neighborhood dry cleaner anymore. The new owner is not a nice person. It is a sad loss for Montrose. I will never be taking my business there again. I have attached a couple of photos of her dress. Shame on them.

The washing machines work well, didn't try any dryers. Didn't like the card because you have to carry a balance but minor issue. Attendant helped me troubleshoot an old card that was no longer valid. This was a breath of fresh air after battling with incredible rude attendants at every other location I have tried because they were either closing early or simply had an attitude. Maybe it goes with the territory, but that only improved my impression of Holiday Cleaners. I never go anywhere else now. Clientele were friendly and considerate too.
