Hostile, Unprofessional, and Unresolved Experience -- Avoid This Location(SKIDAWAY LOCATION)…read more I've been a loyal customer at the Suds on Skidaway Road (Savannah) for years--until a completely unacceptable encounter with an employee named Charmaine. From the start, Charmaine seemed irritated. She offered no help, spoke rudely, and got aggressive when I asked a simple question about my receipt after paying with exact cash (since the card machine was down). Her attitude was unprovoked and inappropriate. She handwrote "needs to pay" on my receipt and highlighted it, which left me confused. When I asked for clarification, she snapped, yelled, and became hostile--in front of my child and her own, including one handling laundry behind the counter. She made disturbing comments about my clothes, and as I left, she yelled: "That's why you have to bring your stank a clothes in here to wash, you uppity bi***!"** This behavior--especially in front of children--was disturbing and unnecessary. When I reported it to the store manager (Brittany), she offered no apology. She claimed Charmaine called her during the incident but said the call dropped. That's false--I heard them on speakerphone. Charmaine even went outside yelling about me on the phone as I was leaving. I escalated to the district manager (Christie). She called after I contacted other stores, said she'd follow up--but didn't. When I called her back, she acted like she didn't know who I was and seemed annoyed I followed up. She simply suggested I go to another Suds location. When I picked up my clothes, Charmaine was still working, and no one acknowledged the issue. No apology. No accountability. This location clearly has high turnover, poor management, and zero customer service. It's also not in a safe or welcoming area--and now I understand why. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Avoid this location at all costs.

The main entrance was covered with left over snow/ice, possibly presenting tripping hazards for anyone coming in or leaving with bags or baskets of clothes. The water fountain didn't work, bathroom door locked, small washing machines on the back row had dirt and possible rust on the bottom of the tub, trash on the floor and the attendant didn't speak English. The cost @ $6.25 to wash (20/min cycle) and $0.25 to dry (11/ min cycle) is gouging, especially considering the overall filth and conditions of the machines. Think one needs a Hazmat Suite to visit followed by a visit from the Health Dept.

There was a ton of what I think was someone's weave all over the floor, and it was pretty rude and sloppy of that person to not have taken 10-15 seconds to clean up after themselves. The machines were a great value and well maintained. The area seemed a bit rough but that's most laundromats I visit. The barbershop patrons next door were quite loud and lively, but you can't hate on that happiness and passion. Unless you're my dog, because loud men upset him quite a bit as a general rule. I might visit again, but not alone and maybe without my dog to bark and get upset. The sign was so faded I'd apparently drove right by it the day prior. So here's the deets - This Laundrette is attached to one side of the DPTMS building, next to the Auto shop at 162 Leonard Neal St.  (I used the Waze app to navigate to the Auto Skills Center, taking a little sandy driveway to the front door.) The machines were all in clean working order.  Note the number(s) on the front of the machine(s) you wish to use, then head to the pay station at the back.  Hit Start, enter the machine number(s) you want to use & pay with a credit card, which is covered under you MI&E for travel.  $3 to wash a load & 25 cents for 10 minutes to dry.

Used four (4) separate washers ($3 X 4=$12). And two (2) dryers (2X.25=.50) for 10mins of drying. Used High & Medium Heat settings & the dryers worked Perfectly. 2. The Parking Area is rough terrain. It is also covered with Sand with lots of extinguished cigarette butts. So wear enclosed shoes or your sneakers (NO SANDALS). When we arrive at 3:15pm, 3 of the parking spots in front of the doors were blocked off and there was a sign taped to the door stating last wash was at 3:00pm and they were closed at 4:00pm (on a SATURDAY). I inquired within and the attendant stated they had changed their hours. They weren't even open on a Sunday. First off, please update your hours for your customers! Secondly, have hours we can actually use! Monday morning, my girlfriend went to do laundry while they were open, but was completely turned off by the mess that she found. The 3 parking spots were still blocked off with no one parked there and many of the small machines blocked off as well. She went to another closer to home laundromat. We gave this place a lot of business driving the distance to the Southside from Midtown for great service and great environment, but, sadly, no more.
