Second place trivia prize! Green tea shots
Emily K.

I came here with two friends for trivia on Tuesday and it was such a blast! It's a pretty cozy bar with not many tables downstairs and I believe a few upstairs. The bartenders are great - I had a couple moscow mules and they were a good strong pour! Trivia was really fun and I definitely recommend the host. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries and really enjoyed them. Their happy hour deals are amazing! Will be back here soon for sure.

Great bar with decent beer selection, weekly specials, and great happy hour deals. Plenty of space to gather a small/medium meetup group or friends. They also have an upstairs which is great for private events!

Wings are great. Fried hard, breaded, plus ranch. Brendan Bartender was so nice and hospitable. Went late night great experience. Try it out for some U street food and fun.

Crystal was amazing on the St. Patrick's Day she was such a joy and it was amazing time.

Perfect rainy Friday vibes! Stopped by for happy hour after work--wasn't too crowded yet, but the drinks were good, and the fried food was delicious. Cheat day well spent! Friendly service and a cool atmosphere made it even better

Happy hour menu

Great service, as always. Good happy hour specials. Bartenders quick to greet you even when bar is crowded.

Wings - happy hour, real good

Nice bar in the DC area. It has great specials, food was real good, and the bartenders were nice. It's probably the best bar/sports bar for the price in the area. I'm a wings guy and these are quality wings. They must bread the wings a bit, but I love it because it soaks up the Buffalo sauce some more. The Buffalo sauce is real good as well, a good blend of hot sauce/butter/whatever else they use. My wife got the chorizo quesadilla and it was pretty good as well. Nice char and grill marks, chorizo made it a bit greasy but that's expected. Overall great meal. Definitely would recommend as a neighborhood bar!

Sudhouse has a awesome bar like atmosphere with great happy hour prices! Most dishes are between $4-9 and drinks between $4-6!! They also have a few tv's that show mostly sports games... we watched a tennis match! They have jamming modern music and bar type food and drinks! *The drinks we got weren't on the happy hour menu because we like to be extra !* Laura and Bridget were awesome! They were very attentive, made great dish suggestions and kept us and the other customers laughing the entire time. We'll definitely return!! Came to meet a friend on a Thursday night. First time here! Great mix of crowds of people! There's 3 floors. The middle floor is tiny and big enough for like 3 tables and overlooks the bar on the first floor. The top floor is kind of small too but they have some games up there. People were playing corn hole when I went up to look. I think there was another bar up there too Main floor, seemed like the bartender was the only person working - besides the people who brought out the food and cleaned the areas. So it seemed like it took a long time for her to swing around - but she was a beast, handling everyone's orders and drinks! Give her a raise :) Happy hour everyday from 4-6. A 2 min walk from the U street Metro. Mozzarella sticks were good! The buffalo wings were just okay- I wasn't a fan of the blue cheese lol

The owners were incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel like family. The food was absolutely amazing--everything was perfectly cooked, seasoned so well, and full of flavor. Every bite was delicious! I honestly give the food a 10/10. Between the outstanding customer service, warm atmosphere, and incredible food, this was an experience I'll remember. Thank you for making my first visit such a wonderful one. I will definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend Celtic House to anyone looking for great food and even better people. Cillian was such a great server as well! Very kind and attentive knows everything about the menu and even suggested some amazing entrees and appetizers

I had the pleasure of visiting this past weekend and they definitely lived up to their reputation. Got a seat at the bar and they had the NFL game playing. After deeply scrutinizing their whiskey list I decided on the EH Taylor Single Barrel, but unfortunately, they were out! Instead I opted for the Barrel Proof, which was a bit more pricey, but I think it ended up being the better option, which I thoroughly enjoyed sipping while watching the game. The ambiance is a typical Irish pub, with Guiness on tap, regulars at the bar, and friendly service (in fact, I think the owner was there and greeted us). Unfortunately, we were in between meals and did not order food, but I hear their food is equally great. Now that I validated how great their bourbon program is I think I will need to add Celtic House to my rotation!

Ordered the leek/mushroom omelet and the French toast (which is really a decadent bananas foster in disguise). Both are killer. Enjoyed an Irish coffee with Teeling small batch whiskey (from Dublin) and also sampled a couple of lovely stout beers on tap. Service was friendly and professional. Decided to get some take-out for the kids and went with fish & chips and mac & cheese and nearly didn't serve it to them, wanted to devour it myself. This is where Brookland's Finest used to be. The interior has been revamped and the new design makes it more functional and inviting. It seems like there's more seating. The space can be opened up to let in the gentle breezes, so pleasant. The Harp is tickety-boo. Slainte, indeed.

Unfortunately the kitchen was closed by the time I arrived so I can not review anything about food. I will say that the atmosphere is very lively, there's a range of hip hop music to irish music that will switch occasionally. The staff here really take care of you; and make sure that you get your order in if it's busy. On a busy saturday night, that's much appreciated! I will definitely have to try out their food next time; a must visit for those who seek good irish food and drinks ranging from beers to good mixed drinks!

The food was good without being extraordinary. I tried the Guinness burger which was cooked to my specifications. Everything else--from the food to the service--was an absolute disappointment. We waited an hour for our food, and when it finally came Virtually every dish served to our family had temperature or quality issues: Shepherd's Pie: The mashed potatoes were cold, and the meat filling was barely warm and average at best. Kids' Chicken Tenders & Fries: Served cold, with completely limp, soggy fries. Fish & Chips: The exterior felt hot, but the inside was doughy and uncooked with a raw, floury texture. Chicken Sandwich: Cold sandwich paired with cold, soggy fries. The beers were fine, but cold meals and undercooked fish are unacceptable--especially when paying $150. On top of that, our waitress was noticeably rude and inattentive. A charming interior doesn't make up for terrible service and poorly prepared food. Save your money and eat somewhere else near Union Station."
