I didn't see any out of order signs, there were washers and dryers for everyone (not too busy Sunday afternoon), and this time we got smart and brought our own detergent and dryer sheets. There was a worker at the desk to take in laundry and another one was cleaning the lint out of the dryers. It was amazing to see. So much lint. It was like watching Dr Pimple Popper (which I've never done BTW). The high capacity dryers practically dried everything in 10 minutes. It would have been an acceptable level of dryness from my home dryer, but I felt rich and splurged another .25 for another 10 minutes. So easy with the app!

I would double check the machine before use for any leftover bleach or soap that can be sitting at the top where you insert the soap. I don't know if the doors are next to a bathroom or if the rugs have been soaked with the scent of Chicago's Montrose park public bathrooms, but it smells. The plusses are the ample parking. You're not going to have any issues finding a nice roomy spot, the lot is yuge. Another plus are the machines and dryers are on the new-ish side. Not too much dryer gunk (chewing gum-like material stuck to the dryer drum). There are a lot of machines, so even if crowded, things can move fast. The reason for the 2 stars are thus: the place is not clean. The floors always have trash. It's not a tidy place. This might be due to the staff who do their best to pretend not to ignore you. They're too busy doing the drop off service that they don't sweep up or help customers. The other bad thing is the DIABOLICAL LAUNDRY CARD. This is a card that you load up with money to use the machines. You have to permanently lose time off your life, TIME that you will never get back, trying to get the card to read on the machine readers. It is extremely oppressive and is designed to make you question the meaning of your life. This laundromat is the equivalent of the egg salad at a gas station. You're hungry and you think you'll be ok. The only reason why I've been here 3 times is because the card has a balance. I refuse to leave a cent to this place, even if the scent it gives me is unpleasant.

I was going to use this place for the first time to wash my laundry.....went inside and tried to change my $20 bill into quarters. The guy behind the counter gave me a hard time and wanted to "see my laundry" before he agreed to break my 20 into two $10 bills to use with the change machine.....anyway, I had parked at the Taco Bell nearby (same parking lot) to get some food before I dragged all my laundry in and started the washing.....there was a lot of snow and slush outside as well, so I wasn't going to slide my way there with all my laundry before giving the place a look first. Glad now that I did. After pretty much getting b!tched out for not having brought my laundry in at the same time as when I wanted to make sure I'd have enough quarters for the laundry, it occurred to me how 'effing rude the guy was being to me, a new potential customer. I "get" that people must be trying to get quarters from his machines without using them in his store, but, um, could you have NOT been so obnoxious & mean to me?!? .....I told him I didn't like getting yelled at for not even doing anything wrong. In what turned out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy of my NOT bringing in my laundry the first time, I kept the damn quarters the guy basically chucked at me after I handed him a $20 & went to another laundromat slightly farther away, but the attendants don't yell at me.
