I called Duct Masters late in the afternoon on Friday and had the luxury of speaking to the owner, Roger who is an absolute gem. Since moving into a new house and undergoing endless renovations we had to hold off on cleaning the ducts and now that our son is coming any moment now we had to get the ducts cleaned before we can bring him home. Jonathan was the field service tech and he carefully worked with each duct and had vacuumed each house section he worked in. He showed us photos of each duct before and after. He covered our stored goods in the basement that he had to work around. He carefully resealed all the holes in the ducts until future cleaning visits. The process took only a couple of hours and our cats were glad when he left and they could get back to sleep.

All he did was guess and said a lot of maybe this or maybe that. He even had problems using his volt meter and actually bent his needles and had to replace them. He couldn't get a good reading because he couldn't get the positive needle (red) in the volt meter and he did it twice/three times. Then he proceeded to disengage the pipe inside the furnace to shut the unit down, which then caused another code to appear. After that, he then expressed that maybe the exhaust/fresh air pipes going outside were clogged or that the installation was mis-aligned (after 4 years)! After an hour of guessing and coming up blank, he then said "well it's the blower motor and maybe the power switch or the pipes to the outside." I asked if he had the motor or the switch on the truck and he said it would have to be ordered, would probably get Tuesday and could install Wednesday and I would receive a call. I expressed my concern because of the cold and the frequency of the furnace going on and off and I was told to just turn it off at the main power switch for a minute and it would reset and work fine. I waited 3 wekes for a phone call not two days. I contacted the company Owner, Kevin Budinger and received no response. They ripped me off for $115! I purchased this furnace from this company, so I'm not just a new customer.

He inserted the vacuum to the air handling unit. This would provide the negative pressure to ensure most of the dust and debris would go to the vacuum. Then he use a air compressor to knock loose the dust at each register and as far into the ventilation as he could push the nozzle. My registers unfortunately went up towards the attic, so dust was guaranteed to get knocked loose into the room, so we had to vacuum. This would have gone smoother if Mr. Duct had sent a partner with Miguel. Miguel was also very helpful in airdropping the photos of the ducts to my phone, which was important because we were trying to identify what might be triggering allergic reactions. For roughly $300, it was very reasonable. I would recommend Mr. Duct to those who need duct cleaning services.
