Sadly, my favorite sub, the rotisserie chicken, was taken off the menu. Other than that it is a nice place.

"Yeah buddy, I really don't care if your iced tea is hand-crafted...whatever the hell that's supposed to mean." Anyhow.... The pulled pork samich was outstanding -so juicy it destroyed the bun - just the way it should. The hot sauce was mild but good and tangy. Didn't really need it though, the flavor of the meat was more than enough. Also the chicken wings. You know, you get heavily spiced and sauced wings and think, man I love this fat and skin, this salty and spicy- but you never really taste the chicken. No so here. Just spice rubbed, BBQ'd and ....they're chickeny! And meaty! Who'da thought!? Also loved the kickin beans. A unique taste I couldn't really put my finger on. Some hot pepper, little sour, some ground beef of all things- I don't know, but sure wolfed those down. Unique. Cole slaw was fine, the usual. Only bad thing were the sweet potato fries. I think they may have been made earlier and were re-heated because they were tough and chewy. Still.....I'll be back whenever I'm in town! A place not to be missed. Nice people too.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio - A couple times a year the missus and I do a 16- to 18-hour round trip drive on…read more70. Generally it's boring highway food. Then, we discovered Giacomo's. Friday afternoon, around 1sh, not empty but plenty of seating available. Clean. Staff all friendly. We expected 'oh, this'll probably be a perfectly fine sandwich.' Wrong. This was dang good sandwich experience. She ordered chicken salad on a Giacomo's bun w/out tomato and lettuce ($10.50 including bag of chips). Bun definitely homemade, fresh, little dusting of flour, good consistency, soft but not like those grody grocery store hamburger buns. The salad itself had a fresh, light herbal seasoning. Actual cut-up chicken breast instead of processed canned chicken. Not too much mayo. Sandwich held together well. Overall, a solid, nice sandwich - she'd order again. My Giacomo's Club ($11.50, w/chips) was da bomb. Big hefty sandwich, thick with meat and cheese and bacon. A nice light grilling of the bread made in-house. A club sandwich isn't a sexy sandwich, but this was something I'd 100% get again. The chips were an Ohio brand, which was nice. Got a biscotti, which was surprisingly soft-ish instead of hard crunch, and bits of broken candy cane on the crust. Quite nice, we'd get again. And we got a Ho-ho cupcake (chocolate, with a chocolate drizzle frosting and white cream frosting, reminiscent of a ho-ho). Not too sweet. Moist. Nicely done. Total damage, with drinks, $39. We very much will be stopping here again on future road trips. Big thumbs up. Pro-tip: not open Sundays.

I've had the chicken salad, club, Italian and a few of their salads. The club and the Mediterranean salad are my favorites and the chicken salad is incredible. Their mint patties are a must try. Everything on their menu is fresh and mostly made in-house. They make all of their bread fresh daily.

Good old Jimmy Johns! I'm not one to opt for a sub often so when I agree to head over to Jimmy…read moreJohns you bet I'm hungry! It's about the only place I'll get a sub from and depending on the location, it's hit or miss. When it comes to the Jimmy Johns in Zanesville, I've been several times of the years since was put it. I remember longing for the day that Zanesville would get a JJ and it finally showed up after I moved away, what are the odds? I always get the veggie sub plus sprouts (when they have them) and peppers... and I usually hit up the drive through. In my experience the service has always been friendly, but it can take a little while. The food I have received has also varied from a completely inedible sub to getting exactly what I want. On my most recent visit I actually went inside, and it was nice to see how well kept it was. Everything was super clean despite them not having napkins anywhere but behind the counter (scratching my head). They had tons of seating and a giant patio out front as well. I suppose my biggest complaint about this JJ is that it isn't consistent. Other than then that, it's all good.

It's about time that Zanesville gets some "healthier" fast casual food options and I'm so glad this…read morerestaurant chain made a home on the North end of the city. I've eaten at tons of Panera Bread establishment over the years, some in Phoenix, some in Chicago, others here in Ohio, and the experience I had here was very similar to the norm. There's plenty of parking at this location (score) and they have a rather large patio out front with tons of tables and umbrellas for shade. Although the fake plants can go, no need for that. The place is kept clean and the staff was cordial. They have a lot of vegetarian friendly options so and I'm so thankful for that. I usually get the pick two and I always get the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich. When I visited PB in Zanesville, it was no exception. It's honestly the best vegetarian sandwich I've ever gotten at a chain establishment. They start this sandwich on tomato basil bread and add peppers, feta cheese, cucumbers, greens, tomatoes, red onions, a delicious cilantro-jalapeno hummus. While it can be messy, I always eat every bite. Lastly, when it comes to the price, everything here is really reasonable. There's a few other reviews that complain about it being too expensive but honestly, its higher quality food then what you get at McDonald's so of course it's going to cost a little more. I get my meal for under ten dollars so I'm always happy walking out the door. Toss out the staff having random bad days (we're all human) and the occasional sloppy sandwich and this place is cool in my book.

Place is dirty. Trash on floors. Tables need wiped. Bathroom nasty. Out of many bagels at lunch…read more Used to be better
