I can't read my own writing for his actual name. From ordering my food until the time I left the above mentioned staff was super. I worked at Casino Windsor for 14yrs. I was the youngest girl hired before construction was finished. I was 19yrs old. I've always said that you can provide outstanding customer service or you can't. Working with people is something you can do. It's not something you can learn. Customer service stands out with me more then the average person. One thing I've noticed both times dining in is that tables around me were being cleaned with strong products while I was still eating, sometimes very close by. The fumes can be a bit overwhelming and take away from the experience. I ate the spaghetti with meatballs, the bolognese sandwich, and the spaghetti with bolognese. It's comfort food with fresh ingredients served hot and quickly. No complaints from me. I knew the food might be on the mild side so I stopped at Kroger or Meijer and picked up some Serrano peppers to liven up my meal. The chilis made it all pop just right. Mom's Spaghetti tastes good and is three or four notches above Olive Garden or Chef Boyardee. Great comfort food, reasonably priced, for people that are hungry and enjoy a good time and a great value! Eminem's food joint is a must. If I lived in Detroit or if there was a Mom's Spaghetti in Los Angeles, I would have no problem eating here at least twice a week. It's affordable and it fills you up. Spice it up anyway you want to. Mom's Spaghetti got a lot of hype for obvious Detroit culture. The reviews seemed really good so when in Rome- we stopped. No line on a Friday afternoon, they have a basic menu; spaghetti with or without meatballs and a spaghetti sandwich. On average you're looking at $12 for a meal. Here's the thing, it's basic pasta and sauce from a plastic container- that's it. Limited flavor and honestly the nostalgia wears off almost instantly. I would also argue that the entire experience was a let down because I was looking for that connection to the city and well the hype. Instead I had a take out container of less than decent Ragu. I have no idea why this place is rated so high. It's not the food quality, it's not the ambiance, it's not the price... it's honestly so puzzling. If I can prevent one person for taking the chance and wondering "how bad could it be" I will have done my job. If you're like me and going to say you went, lower your expectations.
