During a pickup today, staff asked me to fill a customer's drink. Preparing items violates both DoorDash policy and local health ordinances. Drivers are not certified food handlers, and expecting someone straight off the street to prepare any part of a customer's meal is a serious sanitation risk. When I politely explained this, the situation was handled with zero professionalism: - Initial Employee: Showed heavy attitude and stated she would fill the drink "just this time," claiming store policy requires drivers to handle beverages. - First Manager: Remained calm, but incorrectly insisted that forcing drivers to make drinks is company policy. - Second Staff Member/Manager: A muscular man with extensive tattoos, glasses, and a baseball cap aggressively intervened. He acted extremely rude when shown the actual policy on the app and told me, "Don't accept any more orders from here then, because we won't be making drinks." Passing off basic food prep to delivery drivers because the drink station is located away from the kitchen is pure laziness and a display of poor standards. Management urgently needs to educate this staff on food safety regulations, basic health protocols, and professional customer service.
