We were staying at Waters edge resort and got hungry and decided to search the area for something to snack on and subway was the closest. Even though I am not a subway fan it was very convenient as we had like 4 hours before they served dinner. We were greeted by the sandwich preparer politely and he asked what he could get for us. I couldn't make up my mind with what I won't but our server was very patient. We orders a BLT and a steak and cheese sub which was amazing. Our server also gave us chocolate chip cookies. I came here once about two years ago or so, and once again the other day. Both times were super weird experiences. Both times, we were greeted the same extremely friendly older man(I assume the owner). I love friendly, but it was over the top and uncomfortable. Both times felt like we couldn't get out of there, because he was interested in our whole life story and wouldn't stop asking questions about our life. Like I said, friendly is great, but this was just a little too extreme and uncomfortable. The first time when I went a couple years ago, I had my daughter with me. There were cookies cooling on the top out in the open, and as the guy was talking to us, he kept spitting on all of the cookies. Then he gave us cookies for free to take home, (that we ended up throwing in the trash because they were covered in spit) that was super nice, but gross. When we came here the other day with our son, he went to get a free cookie for my son as well. First, he licked his finger, and then he grabbed a cookie bag with that finger, and then used that same hand and finger to pick up the cookie and put it in the bag. No gloves, just a spitty finger. Gross. When we walked into the store, we looked down on the almost empty chip shelf, and it was caked with layers of dust and dead bugs. The floor looked like it hadn't been swept or mopped in a very long time and the icemaker randomly started shooting ice out of it while we were ordering. My son was super excited to get Subway, so we let him, but my husband and I were grossed out about the whole situation and didn't order anything. Then I get to the register and tried to use my rewards app, but I couldn't get it to scan on their scanner. I asked the guy behind the counter (different guy than the super friendly owner) how to use the scanner and he said he has no idea because he has only worked there for eight weeks. What!? Both experiences were so weird and the second visit was especially gross. We will not be back to that location again. I feel like a visit front the health department would be in order here, as well as lessons on appropriate customer service. read more

This is by far the best Subway on the shoreline. I've eaten there many times and I've been impressed with the quality and freshness of the food, the staff is very friendly and although they move quickly you don't feel so rushed that you forget an ingredient that you wanted. read more

This place is definitely a rip off! I've drive by here for a while and finally decided to stop in. I ordered ahead online and when I arrived home. Opened my "Outlaw" and it was half filled!!! Subway is my favorite fast food restaurant. I've been to many and most are well run and quite good. The Subway in Westbrook was my worst experience with Subway, ever. It was a weekday around 11:30am. We were the only car in the parking lot. However, the service was terribly slow! Slow... and they got the orders wrong. The sandwiches were not made correctly. The place is old, small and not very clean. I was very surprised and very disappointed. Management needs to keep a better eye on this store. read more

You're typical clean, well-kept subway that follows the national specials. We like going here if we don't feel like cooking dinner at times. Staff is polite and the place is easy to get in and out of with the parking lot having entrances on both sides. Located right on Rte1.
