I thoroughly enjoy this place!! Very nice atmosphere. They have lots of neat paintings and…read morefirehouse equipment on the walls to look at! Everything is of a firehouse theme and I LOVE IT! It's an establishment with a PURPOSE! They raise monies for charities!! My first visit was so very impressionable! We sat and visited with the owner. This man is kindhearted and down to earth! He owns it, runs it, trains his own employees with the kindest, most patient heart, and he works there! A man with a mission and integrity! He told us all about his business and their goals. He is very community minded. Before I even received my food, I was ready well hooked! The workers had tables set up along the walls with boxes of food items stacked. They were making care packages to send to the Hurricane Ida victims!! They won my heart and my business!! The staff were all very well mannered and polite. They were all working together as a team! They kept everything running smoothly and smiled all the time. They greeted everyone who entered in. I especially loved the fact that they all took turns checking the bathrooms regularly and cleaning them very often! I judge all restaurants by the cleanliness, neatness, and sanitary conditions of their restrooms and whether or not they are stocked well with toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. Now for the FOOD! I love Boars Head deli meats! A HUGE plus for me, especially because they're all 100% real meat and GLUTEN FREE! YES!!! And they have gluten free bread!!! I ordered the Firehouse Sub Club!! It was PERFECTION!! That's all I order every time I go! The bread is perfect. You cannot tell that it's gluten free at all. The sandwich is LOADED!! I get full on eating only half, but i keep on going because it's so very, very good !! I get the combo which adds a drink and a bag of chips(my fave is Lay's plain baked chips). They have this super awesome fountain drink machine that has probably a hundred different flavors to choose from! My favorite is Fanta Peach Zero!!! YEA!! They have a drive thru window for those on the go. We prefer dine in; we want the whole experience! It's a fun place to be! Very clean, neat, and tidy. There's always someone in the dining area cleaning tables and wiping down the fountain drink area. And they have TVs on the walls to watch the games! There's plenty of tables and chairs, yet not too crowded! It's a very nice place for couples, or bigger parties, and it's a perfect place for families with children and babies to dine as well!

Waited forever even though I was the only customer... it was soggy with barely any of the veges and…read moreextremely sweet for no reason as if they played a prank and added sugar to it. First and last visit.

Mama's Chicken -- Opelousas, LA (Where diets go to die and…read morenobody's sorry about it) We rolled into Opelousas four deep, hungry, and feeling righteous. The mission was simple: real Louisiana fried chicken. Not "inspired by," not "elevated," not served on a slate tile with micro-greens. Just fried chicken that makes you question your life choices. With a name like Mama's Chicken, we figured we were at least in the right parish. Then we walked in. Packed. Locals everywhere. No tourists asking what a roux is. That's when you know you've done something right. The table immediately locked in on fried chicken orders. Boom. Boom. Boom. Shrimp and fish po'boys tried to flirt from the menu, but we stayed faithful. This was a chicken church and we were ready to worship. Then... betrayal. A small sign. Barely noticeable. Almost whispered. Chicken & sausage gumbo today. I folded instantly. Zero resistance. Straight to jail for crimes against the fried chicken alliance. I ordered the gumbo and red beans and rice because I have impulse control issues and the Lord understands. The food landed like a heavyweight title fight. Fried chicken stacked high--golden, crackly, unapologetic. Light and dark meat with that perfect crust that snaps back at you. Mac and cheese doing grown-folk mac and cheese things. Fries seasoned like somebody actually cared. And then my bowl showed up. That gumbo was dark-dark. The kind of roux that lets you know it's been places. Thick, rich, unctuous, and absolutely not here to be polite. Chicken and sausage swimming like they belonged there--because they did. The red beans? Creamy, silky, plump, and riding that rice like they've been together since high school. Let me be clear: You don't know fried chicken gumbo. You think you do. But you don't--until Mama's humbles you. Mama's Chicken doesn't need hype. It doesn't need branding. It doesn't need your Yelp opinion. It just keeps feeding locals and ruining outsiders' expectations of what "good" used to mean. Come hungry. Leave happy. Nap immediately. And don't pretend you're ordering the salad.

Bread pudding is not good. Couldn't even finish it. Shrimp poboy still good just not as amazing as…read moreI remember. The soft drink dispenser could probably use a cleaning and the water could use a filter as it's colored.

Dairy Queen 602 N. Adams St…read more Welsh, Louisiana 70591 Awesome Burger. Today, I was running behind and had to eat lunch on the fly, so I decided to dine at the Dairy Queen in Welsh, Louisiana while I was in town working. I cannot remember the last time I had eaten at a Dairy Queen Restaurant. The building, which is in a very small town, is extremely date and could use a remodel. The parking lot and the parking situation are not the best. However, the parking lot was cleaned, and the inside of the restaurant was cleaned including the self-serve drink station. I arrived around 2:30 PM with only a couple of other customers and I was immediately greeted by a smiling employee. I ordered the Bacon Two Cheese Deluxe Combo. The burger was a 1/3 lb. double Signature Stack burger with two 100% seasoned beef patties, topped melted Sharp American** and White Cheddar**, Applewood smoked bacon, tomato, onion, lettuce, pickles, ketchup, and mayo on a soft and toasted bun. The burger was beyond what I expected and tasted fantastic. The burger was made to order, perfectly cooked, and all the ingredients tasted fresh. Bite after bite I felt the crunch of the fresh vegetables and crispiness of the bacon. I love good burgers, and this was one of the best burgers I've eaten in a long time. The fries were warm, had no salt, no flavor, and just not good. Next time, I'll just order the burger and not the fries. if the fries would have been hot and tasty, I would have given a 5 - Star rating Great rating.

I ordered the double cheese burger and a vanilla shake. Was very good. The parking area needs some…read moreattention ( bumps for disabled people can be painful). We went thru the drive thru.
