As we started to feel a little irritated, Monique, the general manager, stepped in and completely turned the experience around. She greeted us with a warm smile, incredible professionalism, and brought over a generous sample of their delicious chicken to tide us over while we waited. Her kindness and attention to customer satisfaction were absolutely top-notch. Monique, thank you for reminding Lake Charles that great service and professionalism still exist! It's a pretty simple place, you place your order at the counter and they bring it to the table, the fountain drinks are self-serve. There were a few customers already seated but our food arrived within a reasonable time and was still hot - we all order burgers and crinkle fries, I choose the Mad Dog Burger, easily a 1/2 pound of fresh beef, jalapeño mayo, fresh cut jalapeños and pepper-jack cheese with pickles, onions, tomatoes and shredded lettuce on a toasted bun - this was definitely a delicious hand crafted burger and we all three ate all of the burgers and crispy fries. The staff here is extremely friendly and went above and beyond to ensure everything was as we ordered it and that we were all happy with our lunch. This a burger I'd definitely order again and a place I would frequent if I lived in the area the prices are extremely reasonable especially compared to fast food. There is something about their turkey poboy that satisfies my taste buds and makes me order it most times when I'm there. I sometimes opt for their sugar buster special. It is basically a bacon cheese burger without the bun and it is sooo good!

We ordered the steak street tacos and steak tampiquena to go. They forgot our napkins, utensils, and tortillas so had to turn back around for them. Overall, the service was very nice and quick. The food was delicious and steak was nicely seasoned and soft too. Not tough at all. The steak tacos are big too. Not the teeny ones you usually get. The green "hot" sauce was so plain and mild. I wish it had more spice. The chili lime rice was ok. Didn't taste much of the chili lime.

Upon entering I was impressed with the clean, modern, colorful, and tastefully decorated decor. There were also ample seating options from a large bar to a half wall decided double seating area. There even appeared to be a side room for parties. We came for my cousin's birthday. She made reservations for 15 an hour before arriving and we were seated within 10 minutes of arriving. Service in the beginning was quite quick when it came to getting a server and ordering drinks. I had a virgin Piña Cola which was really good and creamy. It reminded me of a coconut snocone with coconut cream! Also loved the toasted coconut garnish for a little razzle dazzle. We were also quickly served chips with 3 salsas: red, green, and bean. All were very good but I was drawn to the green which was sweet with a bit of heat! I had a hard time choosing my entree. Everything sounded good and looked amazing as it came out to other tables! The presentation of every item was A+. I decided to get the habanero cream enchiladas with cilantro rice and charro beans based on the recommendation of a couple at the table. I was very impressed by the flavor and it was exactly as the menu described...habanero minus the heat (there was his a hint of heat). In fact everything was very flavorful from the beans, to the rice, the chicken within the enchiladas, and the cream sauce! The dish was also very hearty and enough for 2 meals. Can't wait for my next visit to try one of the other delicious looking dish I saw people at our table and other tables order! Oh! Birthdays here are a big deal! We probably heard 10 birthdays while we were there including our own birthday girl. They come with a loud procession, a big hat, and a dessert!

But, I made the mistake of including pint of their "homemade coleslaw" to go with the meal without asking the price. Contents were chopped cabbage, with a little bit of something added - cost $14!!! For that much money, I could have bought more than 16 lbs of cabbage at WalMart! So, IF I return, I've learned to order only meat, that's expensive enough.
