    Sliced brisket and sliced turkey
    Randy V.

Turkey had a great flavor. The brisket was lacking flavor. The cashier was very friendly and it didn't take too long to get my order. If I return I'll get the turkey again but will try something else.

    The place to be.

Holy Cow! This was a great discovery! I had to drive past it twice - before stopping. If it wasn't for the long drive line, I would never have stopped. I had their signature sandwich with brisket. The sandwich was substantial and found it very tasty. Great surprise and I shall return

Loved the food, every morsel. I tried the pulled pork, a rib, crawfish, loaded mashed potatoes, coleslaw and I'm saving my pudding because I'm too full. The service was superior. He bent over backwards to please and we were very pleased. I rarely give 5 stars. We went to the Orange location.

Bottom Line: Let's call it sort of okay BBQ. But it's a bit overpriced for the quality. IIRC this is drive thru only. Top Line: Lunch of 2 items (a sliced beef BBQ sandwich with cole slaw side & a small cup of banana pudding that was highly recommended by the girl taking my order) came to just under $12 after tax. No drink. The sliced beef was pretty ordinary, like a thinly sliced beef roast. It had a modicum of smoke flavor, but not enough to really be distinctive. The meat structure was fairly solid (vs loose & tender) and a bit dry'ish with little fat (moisture & flavor is in the fat). So it may have been cut from the beef round part of the animal's hind leg, which is a very lean part of the critter. I seriously doubt it was brisket, which is the expectation for BBQ beef in this part of the country, though they (carefully?) did not list it as such on the receipt. I don't recall how it shows up on the menu board. The beef was sliced super thin, so it came off as tender to bite off & chew. But it was dry enough that by the end of each bite it required washing down with a swig of water. The BBQ sauce was sweet & peppery, very reminiscent of Sweet Baby Ray's. The onion & pickle in the sandwich brought a nice bit of snap, crunchy texture, and spiciness, from the pickles I would guess. The bun was soft white bread that got pretty soggy. I wished for a slightly sturdier bit of breadage. The cole slaw was quite good. Crunchy without being crispy fresh. Taste had peppery bite & a hint of a sharp herb taste, perhaps mint. The dressing was thin in texture, appearing to be milk based vs mayo based, and sweet without any vinegar tang evident. The cup was the usual size (5-6 oz maybe). Major demerit for leaky cole slaw container that fortuitously was on the bottom of the food piled in the bag. If you're going to run a take-out only eatery (which I recall The Hut being), your containers have to be rock solid. This one wasn't. In spite of the high recommendation from the gal at the window, the banana pudding did not excite my world. It was borderline to being ordinary banana pudding with chunks of vanilla wafer cookies crumbled into it. It was strong enough on vanilla flavor that there was a resemblance to ice cream flavoring. The pudding's texture however was very sturdy & thick. Almost clay like, rather than smooth and creamy as is the standard for a pudding.

The food is nothing to write home about but if in a bind it would work. Also note this is not a dine in restaurant but a drive through.

Ordered pulled pork and chopped brisket to make our own nachos. Both meats were soo good and the barbecue sauce was spot on.

Wait staff is kinda rude, and the chicken is dry. Prices are high for the quality of food offered. This is a drive through only.

The menu has a variety, I wan ant very hungry and went with the nachos, beef and chicken. They offered me half or full, it wasn't much maybe $2 but since not so hungry I ordered half. Once there I noticed a drive thru so I went there. There is a sign on the window that says "we don't take orders from window." Or something to that effect. I pulled up and gave my name. Shortly after they brought my bill, quickly opening the window and shutting with little interaction. I wanted to ask for utensils, which I could see, but again she opened window, quickly handed it to me and shut window. Figuring I could get them from my hotel I went on my way. So the box was packed with chips, it had ground meat, beans, cheese, jalepenos, sour cream and salsa. The chips were kind of thick so they help up well. The salsa had great flavor. The rest was ok, there was no chicken as I had ordered but the ticket indicated it was made per the instructions. I felt the cheese was really light for nachos. Otherwise it was ok. Service wasn't great with wrong order and lack of communication at window. Something else probably would have been better.

It's an establishment with a PURPOSE! They raise monies for charities!! My first visit was so very impressionable! We sat and visited with the owner. This man is kindhearted and down to earth! He owns it, runs it, trains his own employees with the kindest, most patient heart, and he works there! A man with a mission and integrity! He told us all about his business and their goals. He is very community minded. Before I even received my food, I was ready well hooked! The workers had tables set up along the walls with boxes of food items stacked. They were making care packages to send to the Hurricane Ida victims!! They won my heart and my business!! The staff were all very well mannered and polite. They were all working together as a team! They kept everything running smoothly and smiled all the time. They greeted everyone who entered in. I especially loved the fact that they all took turns checking the bathrooms regularly and cleaning them very often! I judge all restaurants by the cleanliness, neatness, and sanitary conditions of their restrooms and whether or not they are stocked well with toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. Now for the FOOD! I love Boars Head deli meats! A HUGE plus for me, especially because they're all 100% real meat and GLUTEN FREE! YES!!! And they have gluten free bread!!! I ordered the Firehouse Sub Club!! It was PERFECTION!! That's all I order every time I go! The bread is perfect. You cannot tell that it's gluten free at all. The sandwich is LOADED!! I get full on eating only half, but i keep on going because it's so very, very good !! I get the combo which adds a drink and a bag of chips(my fave is Lay's plain baked chips). They have this super awesome fountain drink machine that has probably a hundred different flavors to choose from! My favorite is Fanta Peach Zero!!! YEA!! They have a drive thru window for those on the go. We prefer dine in; we want the whole experience! It's a fun place to be! Very clean, neat, and tidy. There's always someone in the dining area cleaning tables and wiping down the fountain drink area. And they have TVs on the walls to watch the games! There's plenty of tables and chairs, yet not too crowded! It's a very nice place for couples, or bigger parties, and it's a perfect place for families with children and babies to dine as well!

This location seems like a cross between a restaurant and a convenience store, but don't let its humble appearance fool you. There's some great burgers to be had here! I guess we should start with the headliners, which are the stuffed burgers! These hearty creations have a variety of fillings stuffed into the center of the hamburger meat itself, making them a huge moist juicy and delicious handful! The variety of fillings includes mushrooms and Swiss; boudin; BBQ brisket; and even macaroni and cheese. These are a great choice, but one can also get a plain old fashioned hamburger or cheeseburger with toppings outside of the patty if one wishes. There are a choice of breads for these, so if you want it on Texas Toast or a Jalapeno Bun, it's all good! Then you need a side. There are of course fries and onion rings, but also tater tots and sweet potato fries. If you have any room left they have a pretty nice selection of ice cream and frozen treats. This location is just north of I-10, so it's convenient to stop into for a quick lunch. If one is so inclined, you could get an order to go, and enjoy a picnic at the nearby Maplewood Park.
