2 meat BBQ plate with ribs, sliced brisket, potato salad, green beans.

Passed through the area and stopped at The Hut for a 2 meat BBQ plate. The portion size was very generous for the price. The ribs were so tender the meat literally fell off the bone. The brisket was cooked to perfection. The potato salad and green beans were very tasty. Only thing I'd say is that the meat wasn't as seasoned as I'm used to; but it was still delicious nonetheless. The staff was super nice and friendly! I would definitely recommend this spot!

Turkey had a great flavor. The brisket was lacking flavor. The cashier was very friendly and it didn't take too long to get my order. If I return I'll get the turkey again but will try something else.

Holy Cow! This was a great discovery! I had to drive past it twice - before stopping. If it wasn't for the long drive line, I would never have stopped. I had their signature sandwich with brisket. The sandwich was substantial and found it very tasty. Great surprise and I shall return

Bottom Line: Let's call it sort of okay BBQ. But it's a bit overpriced for the quality. IIRC this is drive thru only. Top Line: Lunch of 2 items (a sliced beef BBQ sandwich with cole slaw side & a small cup of banana pudding that was highly recommended by the girl taking my order) came to just under $12 after tax. No drink. The sliced beef was pretty ordinary, like a thinly sliced beef roast. It had a modicum of smoke flavor, but not enough to really be distinctive. The meat structure was fairly solid (vs loose & tender) and a bit dry'ish with little fat (moisture & flavor is in the fat). So it may have been cut from the beef round part of the animal's hind leg, which is a very lean part of the critter. I seriously doubt it was brisket, which is the expectation for BBQ beef in this part of the country, though they (carefully?) did not list it as such on the receipt. I don't recall how it shows up on the menu board. The beef was sliced super thin, so it came off as tender to bite off & chew. But it was dry enough that by the end of each bite it required washing down with a swig of water. The BBQ sauce was sweet & peppery, very reminiscent of Sweet Baby Ray's. The onion & pickle in the sandwich brought a nice bit of snap, crunchy texture, and spiciness, from the pickles I would guess. The bun was soft white bread that got pretty soggy. I wished for a slightly sturdier bit of breadage. The cole slaw was quite good. Crunchy without being crispy fresh. Taste had peppery bite & a hint of a sharp herb taste, perhaps mint. The dressing was thin in texture, appearing to be milk based vs mayo based, and sweet without any vinegar tang evident. The cup was the usual size (5-6 oz maybe). Major demerit for leaky cole slaw container that fortuitously was on the bottom of the food piled in the bag. If you're going to run a take-out only eatery (which I recall The Hut being), your containers have to be rock solid. This one wasn't. In spite of the high recommendation from the gal at the window, the banana pudding did not excite my world. It was borderline to being ordinary banana pudding with chunks of vanilla wafer cookies crumbled into it. It was strong enough on vanilla flavor that there was a resemblance to ice cream flavoring. The pudding's texture however was very sturdy & thick. Almost clay like, rather than smooth and creamy as is the standard for a pudding.

Loved the food, every morsel. I tried the pulled pork, a rib, crawfish, loaded mashed potatoes, coleslaw and I'm saving my pudding because I'm too full. The service was superior. He bent over backwards to please and we were very pleased. I rarely give 5 stars. We went to the Orange location.

The food is nothing to write home about but if in a bind it would work. Also note this is not a dine in restaurant but a drive through.

Wait staff is kinda rude, and the chicken is dry. Prices are high for the quality of food offered. This is a drive through only.

Ordered pulled pork and chopped brisket to make our own nachos. Both meats were soo good and the barbecue sauce was spot on.

This location seems like a cross between a restaurant and a convenience store, but don't let its humble appearance fool you. There's some great burgers to be had here! I guess we should start with the headliners, which are the stuffed burgers! These hearty creations have a variety of fillings stuffed into the center of the hamburger meat itself, making them a huge moist juicy and delicious handful! The variety of fillings includes mushrooms and Swiss; boudin; BBQ brisket; and even macaroni and cheese. These are a great choice, but one can also get a plain old fashioned hamburger or cheeseburger with toppings outside of the patty if one wishes. There are a choice of breads for these, so if you want it on Texas Toast or a Jalapeno Bun, it's all good! Then you need a side. There are of course fries and onion rings, but also tater tots and sweet potato fries. If you have any room left they have a pretty nice selection of ice cream and frozen treats. This location is just north of I-10, so it's convenient to stop into for a quick lunch. If one is so inclined, you could get an order to go, and enjoy a picnic at the nearby Maplewood Park.

It is a small convenience store style Restaurant but the charm from the staff is what tied it together. The owners were so helpful and sweet and let us sample their in house sauces.
