My grandsons wanted Subway for lunch. and this is the closest location to my home. It is tucked away in a building that makes it hard to see the entrance door from the road, but it is there! The parking is great. It is not fancy, but the menu is the same as it is at other Subways. The shop appeared to be clean and orderly. The staff was welcoming. Three Protein Wraps were ordered: Two--Italian Trio Freshly sliced Black Forest ham, spicy pepperoni, salami, provolone, lettuce, roma tomatoes, banana peppers and Roasted Garlic Aioli, wrapped in a 9" tortilla. --Turkey & Ham Freshly sliced oven-roasted turkey, Black Forest ham, provolone, lettuce, roma tomatoes, pickles and Honey Mustard sauce, wrapped in a 9" tortilla. Prices were reasonable at about $7. each. My grandsons enjoyed their lunch, and hinted that they "had room" for Ice Cream. So we got cones nearby. read more

I live near this subway and noticed they had a low rating. That being said I've gone here on and off for years, and while subway will never be super duper exciting, they've never gotten our order wrong. Could definitely see any place that hires whoever and pays them as close to minimum wage as possible could have some ups and downs, but I've never seen them have a bad day with a B crew read more

This subway is somewhat hidden away, it's right across from McDonald's off of union street. Tiny parking lot but whenever I come there's always a few open spots. Whenever I come, even if it's super busy, it seems like there's only one person working and then as soon as I'm about to pay another worker walks in. The past few times I've been here the soda machine was broken, lucky for me I don't drink soda. Subs are always good, veggies are very fresh. I've been to MANY subways where the meat + veggies look OLD and dried out. Not at this subway. Everything always looks and tastes good. The soup is EH. Wish they had more options. I've tried the broccoli cheddar and it barely had any taste, despite being the "customer favorite".... The employees are all good. The inside is always clean and it's spacious for a typical subway. Lots of high and low chair seats. This is super close to my house so whenever I need a quick lunch I go to subway because it's so convenient. And I REFUSE to go to mcdonalds!! I frequent a lot of different Subways on a regular basis, due to the nature of the field of work I'm in. The Subway on Upper Union always seems to build a better sandwich. Maybe some of you feel this way, maybe you don't. But when I usually go in and order a foot-long sub, it usually turns out to be all veg and no meat...and that's with me ordering a roast beef sub sandwich. I'm talking about maybe getting 4-5 thinly sliced pieces to cover an entire 12" x 3.5" sub. I'm one to get all the veggies piled on, but I still want to be able to taste some meat. I can honestly say that the Subway on Upper Union will make you a roast beef sub with at least 8 slices of meat (the correct amount for a roast beef sub according to Subway's corporate website) and sometimes even more. Whenever I am there, the veggies are always fresh and so is the yogurt parfait I always get on the side with My sub. So for that, Salute you Union Street Subway. There cookies. For some this is important. Cookies at different Subways are largely inconsistent. Some are soft and chewy, others are hard and chunky. Some taste like they are a day old, while others have a weird salty play-doh after taste to them, that is really unpleasant. Subway on Union has the cookies on lock-down! They make them soft and chewy with a hint of cookie dough still left in the center. That's just how I like 'em. The staff is always friendly to me and they are quick to make my sandwich. I've never had to wait more than 6 minutes, and that's with a line out the door. You can find them located on the corner of Dean and Union Street, across from the McDonald's. They share a building with Union Beverage Center. Go there if you are looking for an inexpensive fresh sandwich. It's a great alternative to fast food like McDonald's, and because I'm on the road a lot, I try to eat fresh instead of fast. read more

Perfectly adequate Subway, tucked away next to beverage distributor opposite McDonald's in what looks like an old speakeasy or tenement housing. Note the very awkward entrance (see photo) and difficult parking lot; you may be better off parking on Dean Street. This location has friendly staff, who were fast and thorough. The seating is almost window-free, tucked away as it is in this weird old darkened store front, but maybe that's a feature. As far as Subways go, above average, but it's a Subway and as such that just means it's a better three stars than most Subways. read more

This subway on Union Street is no good. They DO NOT accept the local coupons that's sent through the mail. They have a small sign at the cash register. The should post large signs at the door and in the ordering area that they do not accept coupons. They charged full price for two subways. I lost my money. No savings. No good store. The cashier said the owner doesn't accept coupons. If you have coupons, you should go to the subway on Balltown Rd. They have better subs there. read more

CLOSED DOWN YET AGAIN. Today 9/22/2016 all lights were off open sign was unlit and door was locked. This location has a history of being closed down for months on end. My guess is the health department shuts them due to unclean food prep and sanitation issues. I have seen this first hand many times when I use to frequent this location. I usually have a good experience but not today. I ordered online and then went to pick up my food. I had to wait five minutes to be helped when I could see my food was ready. I was the ONLY one in there. One of the subs I ordered was a 'meal' which includes a drink, soda and chips. When I went to grab my chips the employee snapped at me and said NO chips. I then explained I ordered a meal and all she was was 'no'. No explanation or anything. Very rude. Its not so much about me getting or not getting my chips, its about how I was treated by the employee. Which was not very good at all. Very surprised an disappointed. read more
