There are options to utilize the drive thru, or you can opt to sit outdoors at a picnic table. Either way, the customer service is always great and the food is cooked/prepared to order. I've been meaning to try Chicago Express for some time now. Finally, I was able to pop in today…read more They have fast friendly service with a wide variety of foods to choose from. I ordered the Chicago style hotdog special, which came with french fries and a drink. I will say that this is definitively just like I would get back home in the Chicagoland area. The hot dog was served on a poppyseed bun, with relish, onions, mustard, tomato, and even had sports peppers. The food was served nice and hot. And everything was seasoned nicely. The ambience of the restaurant is very casual small and quaint. For the time of day that I went to the restaurant was not too full. During my next visit, I think I'll try the Gyro sandwich or perhaps the Italian beef. Hard to say, though cause they have other great options.

I'm going to break this review into three parts…read more Part 1 the food If you've ever eaten at Steak 'n Shake then the food is familiar to you. I have to say I read a bunch of negative reviews and I expected the worst so that may have colored my judgement. However the food was good it was as good as any other Steak 'n Shake and better than some. My kids liked their food my wife liked her food it was hot and tasty. Part 2 Experience The restaurant was ok it wasn't the cleanest but it wasn't some trash pit. The staff was friendly the girl who took our order informed me before I ordered that it would be about ten minutes to get our food. It took about 15 minuets. Overall the expectation we had for the restaurant and what we got where wildly different. I've eaten at Steak 'n Shake quiet a bit I know what to expect. This Steak 'n Shake is different it's more like a Steak 'n Shake express (except it isn't fast). Which brings me to Part 3 The Concept I'm not sure if this is a test store or if other Steak 'n Shakes like this exists. First of all you stand in line and make your order at the cashier just like any fast food joint. Second they don't offer a full Steak 'n Shake menu, which for what they are trying to do makes sense, although there is no indication of this until you get inside to order. Third and here is where the rubber meets the road the time it takes to make the food is the same amount of time it takes at a regular Steak 'n Shake, and there in lies the problem. Steak 'n Shake is considered to be a quick service restaurant y'all know the drill you go in wait to be seated the server comes takes your order then brings you your food when it's ready the expectation that it will take a little while to get your food is managed by the fact that you go through all these motions. However at this location all of that is striped away except the time it takes to make the food which in turn makes it seem longer to get your food then it actually does even though it still takes a while. I'm not sure how successful this concept will be I mean with the ability to go to other Steak n shakes near by that operate in the original manner. All that said it isn't as if they aren't trying they have the work divided into groups they have a shake station and a group dedicated to making shakes They have a group dedicated to take orders and a group making the food. Maybe they'll get better as time goes on. The bottom line I'll probably eat here again I mean it's close by and I do like the hamburgers so we will see what the future holds

We went and had lunch today & the food was decent but the employees don't seem to care about the environment. The floor was so greasy that they had to have a caution sign in place, the stations to order with the touch screens are nasty, the glass entering the location looks like it's never been wiped & employees are just standing around. It's sad to see how much this location is going downhill. With a little elbow grease & some effort, there could be instant improvements. Unfortunately, I don't see it lasting long if nothing changes. This is…read moreby far the best experience, customer service and food we have received in a long time at any fast food restaurant. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how clean the dining room was, which quite honestly is a rarity in most fast food restaurants today. We were greeted almost immediately by a young lady named Hannah. We placed our order and then decided to add a corn pup if they had them. She was quick to verify they did indeed have the pups so she added to our order and we paid. She said I will have your drink cups in just a second. We went to the table and when I turned to sit down, she was already bringing our cups out to our table. There were only a few people in the restaurant but when someone left, Hannah immediately came out and wiped the table down and cleaned anything that needed to be cleaned, picked up etc. When our food was ready, Hannah delivered the food to our table while also assisting someone at the counter, all while being extremely polite and courteous. We asked for mustard and just as quickly as everything else, Hannah brought the mustard to our table. As for the rest of the restaurant, the trash area was clean (not overflowing as is the norm at other fast food places). This Krystal restaurant is an older establishment but everything was clean...yes even the restrooms. The floors (including along the baseboards, and corners) in the dining room, hallway to the restroom and in the restrooms were free of trash and debris. We were very pleased with our visit. Hannah was amazing and obviously very responsible. She was personals, interacted with us and had pride in herself and how she performs her job. Kudos to Smyrna's Krystal's location and GREAT JOB Hannah! Keep up the good work!!!

I had worked at several fast food joints in my few short years in the business and Arby's was one…read moreof those. You get free food and this is one of the few that I never tire of. Some I can eat at again after years of separation. Arby's is simple food - not as simple as it was back when - what with all the menu additions. That's the problem with most fast food places these days - they try to appeal to a broader customer base and fall short on most items on the menu - including the one they "specialize" in. When I go to Arby's, I don't want a market fresh cold-cut sandwich - that's why there is a Subway. I don't want fried chicken - there's KFC. I don't want a fish - there's Florida... I go here just for the roast beef. I know, I know, it's not a true hunk of roast beef - remember - I used to work there?! What it is - it's a simple sandwich, served with simple sauce on a bun. But that is what I like about it. I will occassionally get fries or potato cakes, but I usually just want an Arby's with Horsey sauce - no frills, no lettuce or tomato or cheese. For the regular roast beef sandwiches, I usually wait for coupons. While I think the sandwich is good - I really don't want to pay $3 for a very few ounces of meat and a bun. One note - their new sliders I guess you call them are actually pretty good, too. I've had the ham & swiss, roast beef, roast beef swiss and jalepeno. The bun they come on is really soft and taste great! Granted you won't have the amount of meat shown in the commercial. They have to have the same portion of meat as they sell, BUT, they move most of it to the side of the bun facing the camera - tricky, but they all do it. At a buck each between 2 and 5 - they are a good deal.
