Then the girl behind him in line ordered an iced mocha and she made it for her. He didn't tell me this until after we got into the car. But if I had known I would not have ordered anything. My boyfriend is black and I just wondered if it was a racism thing. I could be wrong but it felt that way since everyone else was white. It happened while I was going to the bathroom at the creepy bus station office next door which you have to go to bc the coffee shop doesn't have one. I got a chocolate croissant which tasted fine but the woman who worked there made me wait a super long time while she and the guy in front of me talked about his dog. There are a lot of coffee shop options in New Paltz so you don't have to go here if you need coffee. I would stay away from this place. I was led astray by a review that said it was good.

Grabbed a Grandma slice from Pasqualle's and a White slice with basil & balsamic drizzle from Rino's, plus some garlic knots because, well, Beast's gotta eat and I was hungry. Pasqualle's: Classic feel, decent crust, but sauce was a bit flat. Solid traditional slice, nothing wild. Rino's: Crust was the star -- nice crust crunch, well-made. Sauce was loose, slightly chunky, and garlicky. White slice had great balance with the balsamic drizzle. Garlic knots from Rino's: Super garlicky in the best way. Both places were clean and roomy, prices were fair. Service was very good. Verdict: Pasqualle's is traditional and safe. Rino's brings more flavor and flair -- and wins this round.

They also have a spacious dining area that, while barebones, is still comfortable if you don't want to take it out. For the kids, we got a couple plain slices and some chicken fingers (for the bipolar three year old who sometimes hates pizza). The chicken fingers weren't anything revolutionary, but they fried them well, just like they did the buffalo wings that my wife was craving. Those were super saucy, but nice and crisp. Reminiscent of Western New York, and that's a compliment. We were also feeling like we needed some greens in our life, so we added a chicken caesar salad. It was better than expected, and hit the spot. Overall, I think pizza is the best choice here (it's in the name after all), but they have some variety if you need more as well. All in all, a very solid place.

We stopped here on the way to the airport and were immediately amazed with the customer service. John and Brady were phenomenal. We ordered the small Italian club with Chicken cutlet and the Vittorio. We also got a large Muffaletta with the olive salad on the side, pesto chips, mixed pickled veggies salad and a cannoli. We wanted to change since we were going to the airport so we had to use the restroom. That's where we encountered John. He is such a lovely man. He was so sweet and I enjoyed our conversation. My sister was throughly impressed with Brady's customer service. He made her feel at home and was very friendly. All of our food was good. They devoured the veggie salad on the car ride to the airport and we ate some of the sandwiches too. The portions are big and you can share. The 3 sandwiches we got were plenty for our family of 6 plus leftovers. Rossi Rosticceria Deli 45 S Clover St Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (Review 50 in 2025 and 893 overall)

It is located on a back street with not much activity, and I was able to find parking quickly, which is key when you are on a work break. As soon as I walked in, the smells and sights of an authentic Italian deli were exactly what you hope for. There is a menu with plenty to choose from and a pastry case that I already know I will be coming back to try next time. I went with the Blue Ribbon panini, and in about ten minutes I had a hefty sandwich wrapped and ready to go. When I sat down to eat and picked it up, it did not disappoint. Chicken cutlet, ham, honey mustard, roasted tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and great bread. Everything blended together perfectly. On the first bite, the chicken cutlet burned my mouth in the best way possible. The tomatoes and honey mustard tied it all together and made it incredibly satisfying. I could only eat half because it was such a heavy sandwich. My dad finished the other half and shared the same appreciation for a really good panini. The next time I am working nearby, I know exactly where I am going, and I will definitely be trying the cannoli and the black and white cookies. 5 out of 5 stars.

New Yorkers love their delis, and if just half of them are like this one, I can see why. JJ Delicatessen has an excellent assortment of meats, cheeses and dried goods, many from European countries like Germany and Poland. My girlfriend and I ordered sandwiches on a Saturday morning. We had to wait a little over twenty minutes, and the woman advised that next time we call our orders in ahead of time because the hot sandwiches take awhile. So that's your tip for the day. But they were worth waiting for. Fairly priced, excellent quality, and came with a few sides. I got the Polish sandwich special and my girlfriend got the Mediterranean sandwich special. There is a small seating area in the deli, but we took them with us and ate them in the car. It was a great lunch that we ate right before an afternoon of hiking at High Point State Park in NJ. Highly recommend this deli!

It seems like this is something of an institution and even for first-timers like us, it's not hard to see why. It's a European-leaning local deli that is clean, well stocked with interesting goodies, and that's is a cozy dining room in the front end of the shop. The two ladies we interacted with were fairly friendly and helpful, and after an agonising few minutes looking at the menu, we decided on the Polish and Italian sandwiches (vs heroes, which are bigger, cost a bit more, and are served on a roll). What I liked was the fresh tasting pickle that comes with the sandwich. In fact, the pickle may have been my favourite thing, period. The macaroni salad and potato salad were enjoyable if not particularly memorable. Now, the sandwiches. They look great, delicious even. We could tell they were made with care. From the first bite though, so I could think was, why's this SO salty? To this day, we're not sure what the culprit(s) were. Without the saltiness, I think they could have been delicious sandwiches. Perhaps this is how the locals like it. Maybe this is some sort of traditional way to prepare these sandwiches. All I know is that it traumatised my taste buds so much that I didn't have an appetite for another meal for the rest of the day. And of course I was quite thirsty for a few hours afterwards. I hope they keep improving and stay open for many more years.
