Walked in . Waited about 5 minutes for the two man staff to even acknowledge we were there. Also one other customer walked in behind us. So we walked out without ordering. Then one of the staff actually said hi to the customer behind us as we were walking out. I don't hold this against all subway locations, but this one will never get my business. I walk in and ask for 2-12 inch tuna subs at 12:30 - lunchtime. I was told they weren't sure they had wheat rolls. They proceeded to pull out a mostly empty tray likely from the day before - felt the bread likely to make sure it was not too hard. I asked for tuna - they said they would need to make it. I said how about chicken salad - no that would need to be made too. I had a dog in the car and could not wait. it Is lunchtime and they had no food! Lettuce was brown. I live in Maryland, but have a beach home in the Bethany Beach area. After a trip to PETCO, I stopped at Subway for a quick lunch. In Maryland, Subway's subs are pretty packed with meat and veggies. There were two pieces of turkey on my sandwich at the Atlantic Ave location. The taste was good, but the lettuce, tomato, and cucumber were so light. Grading on a curve. I'm not above the guilty pleasure of an occasional subway nor it's convenience. As far as subways go, this is the best you can hope for in quality and service. Owner is friendly, polite, remembers your favorite sandwich and I even saw him let a mother take home her sandwiches for free when her credit card was declined and she had one kid tugging on her shirt while the other was in her arms. You won't believe this- a lady cuts out 4 subway coupons for 2 sandwiches and a free cookie and a free chips. Goes to Millville, DE Subway by Giant on 26. After subs were made, lady presents 4 coupons and proprietor says can only use 1 coupon per visit. Lady protests and says the coupon does not state that and I had bought 2 sandwiches with a coupon for each and free item with each sandwich. Owner yells at guy who works for him that "we are not accepting anymore coupons. Make a sign saying that". I said take off one coupon and I won't be back. He said - now get this!- "I don't need your business. I have plenty of business." I said, "I think corporate will be happy to hear you feel that way! Just let me pay for my food!" He grabs the food back and says, "I don't want your business. Go somewhere else. There are no Subways close by". I told him that corporate would be glad to hear how he treats customers and turned around to leave. His parting shot was -are you ready? " F*** you lady". Lady turns around and points her finger at the little man and says, Corporate will be happy to hear that too!" And that lady was me! I'm not done with that guy either! Giving a 1 star is giving this subway too much credit. Every single time I've been here the sandwiches were super skimpy, and the customer service was not friendly or welcoming whatsoever. My fiance told me he had subway coupons so I said what the heck let's give it another shot, how bad could it be? We had a coupon for a 6-Inch sub for $3.75 so I ordered a small tuna sub. Let me tell you the tuna sub the sandwich maker made was definitely lacking. I'd call it a veggie sub with a smear of tuna. When we asked for more tuna because it was a ridiculously small amount to anyone's standards we were told "extra tuna will cost you 75 cents." At that point I just told him I didn't want it & to throw it away. As a side note: I work in a deli and I make subs and sandwiches all day for people and I make them how I would like a sub to be made for me and after working all day doing that for others it's just a shame that I can't go somewhere and get the same in return. Very hard working employees. They always do their best. The store is always very clean and the food is good.

This was a very nice clean location. The food is always consistent but sometimes you find a subway with less optimal environment. This was wonderful. One of the things I was most remarkable was how kind the employees were to each other. Will definitely go back while we are at the beach! read more

What a difference a day makes. We are down at the shore for a few days, and decided to grab lunch out at the local Subway instead of making sandwiches at the condo. Yesterday, the bread was fresh, and the sandwich was what I have come to expect from Subway locations. Today (sept 18) was a different story. First, our "server/sandwich preparer" was difficult - he continually tried to rush me in my selections for toppings, even thought the place was not busy - one customer in front of me, and when my sandwich was finished, another came in behind - so no need to rush. He made the sandwich in a hurried manner, skimping on a couple of items, and when I asked for extra to make up for the skimp - he displayed his displeasure. After a couple of times asking him to add extra, I gave up. When I got home with the sandwich, it was a major disappointment - the bread was stale, and had a baking soda taste to it. If this was my first subway sandwich, doubt I would go back again. read more

Me and my husband went there for lunch today n were very happy! We stopped going for a long time cause their sandwiches were skimpy. After realizing the Chinese place next door was closed we went to subway......def gained us back as customers. We now feel they know how to make a sandwich. And the cookies were delish! It's your typical subway. Relatively quick service and ok environment. They seem to be frequently out of products though. Oh well it really comes down to this, it's Subway. It's where you go for a quick lunch not a true sub. Either way, it's cost efficient and does the job. read more
