Milan and great BBQ are synonymous in my mind. From the time my family moved to Milan around 1962, The storied Silver Kitchen was the popular spot for the best pulled pig sandwich around. I'll forever remember the big hickory burning oven's you could see cooking up the next batch of perfectly smoked deliciousness. I also shall not forget the delicious feeling of naughtiness I got from eating in a place that served beer. OK, so after sharing my bona fides on Milan BBQ History this review is to recognize Smokin' Hot BBQ as a worthy successor to Robert and Joannne Appleton's legendary Silver Kitchen. Mark, the Smokin' Hot owner (LOL, I just called him that because I'm sure no one else ever has) is someone I've known since the first few months my parents settled in Milan back in '62. I've watched from afar all the hard work he has put into creating a great product and growing his business. On trips home my tastebuds always lead me to the SH drive-through. This trip home I've eaten several times in the new sit down restaurant and got great service and food each time. I'm sure they have some kinks to work out and I'm sure they will.
