Stopped in for lunch for our first visit and enjoyed it for the most part. We walked in about 5…read moreminutes after they opened and it seemed like they were quite ready, so our food took a little bit of time but we weren't in a rush. We both went with the #2 combo which was 2 sliders and fries. It didn't include a drink which seemed odd but an easy way for them to get more money. The sliders weren't that small for having 2 in the order but we still finished it all. I wasn't super excited about a Kale Slaw being on the slider but it was actually pretty good and didn't have too much of a "kale taste". I don't do great with spicy but the medium spice level wasn't too much at all. It added flavor without being overpowering, which is exactly what I wanted. The staff were friendly and the dining area was clean. We would definitely come back.

Shout out to Marcus M., Brooke(sorry if I misspelled your name), and the rest of the staff! Greeted…read moreupon entry, educated on menu, fast food, fast service. When we came in the place was packed and when I say packed, I mean no chairs or tables available lol. Something I like to see in restaurants because it means that they're doing a great job. When a table did become available. Marcus separated the table for us and got the chairs set up for us, so I really appreciated that service. The customers are Vibing with each other having a great time with each other. The food was excellent. I love this place. It's just something about that chicken and the coleslaw together that just makes everything taste great. Great job guys and thank you for a great visit!

We were so excited to try a new Korean chicken place and this was such a let down…read more The chicken is very plain and unseasoned. There is nothing Korean about it. It is chicken you can get from any other chicken place. It is freshly made, but that is the only positive I have for the chicken. We tried the strips which were dry and the wings. 2/5 We tried the soy garlic and red hot spicy sauces. The soy garlic was an okay processed sauce. The red hot smelled and tasted like it is ketchup based, so for me, gross! It was supposed to be really spicy and it was not. 1/5 The curly fries were hot, fresh, and seasoned well. 4/5 The mandu was store bought gyoza and it did not come with a dipping sauce as mandu usually does. 2/5 The lunch special was a good price but otherwise this is definitely overpriced. If you are ever in the San Antonio area, try Pelicana, it's AMAZING Korean chicken.

My favorite spot in town for Korean fried chicken!…read more Kiri Kiri never disappoints. The chicken is always made to order, so I usually order ahead on Toast to save time. I always get half garlic soy and half sweet & spicy--both perfectly crispy, flavorful, and super fresh. Their fried gizzards are amazing, and the pickled radish is the perfect refresh to go with everything. If you love Korean fried chicken, this place is a must. Consistently delicious, great portions, and worth every bite!

DELIVERY DRIVERS AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Show up and and they…read morewill waste your time making you wait around before telling you: "We sent our own driver out to deliver this order." I have been to McAllen TX ... and have even eaten there (2 of 2)…read more I saw that many reviewers are awarding Cowboy Chicken 5 stars. I was going to go with 4 stars, but then thought about it ... they did everything right. I happened to be in this general area, while visiting the famous main branch of the McAllen Public Library, which holds the record for being the largest library on one level in either the U.S., North America, or the world. Dinnertime was approaching and a barbecue place sounded just like what I needed. Cowboy Chicken is in a strip mall close enough to the library. Parking is easy and, once inside, you go through a short line to order what you want to eat, with some people eating in and others taking out. I do like to eat this regional barbeque food on occasion, and it's something I do at least once every time I'm in the Houston metro area. I always go for the 2 item combination platter. However, in the Houston area, I don't seem to land on places that offer both brisket and boneless chicken. So, in Houston, I get brisket and turkey ... and I'm still a happy camper. At this Cowboy Chicken, I asked if I could get chicken as one of the 2 meats and if it could be (a) boneless piece(s). The young lady helping me said that I could and was very helpful. I took my tray to the simple but airy eating area and started to dig in. Everything, including the sides, was delicious. The chicken and the brisket were very much to my liking. I'm not being a big baby by always asking for boneless stuff, but who wants to mess with bones and scales when eating outside of their home or at a backyard event? I wanted to add that the portion size was satisfying and that the pricing was appropriate. This "main" Cowboy Chicken has a lot of good things going for it - the food, the service, the portions, the value, and, above all, what I perceived to be a strong focus on the customer. So there you have it. If visiting the impressive main branch of the McAllen Public Library and get hungry, you might stop by Cowboy Chicken for a meal. How does that sound for a field trip?
