Raising Canes Hates Old People. Inside dining, I order the most popular combo meal. They give my cup, I fill it around the corner with a wall between me and the pickup counter, Find a table and place my cane on seat, thy are very busy and load. I go to the counter. There is no food at the counter. I sit down and wait. After waiting about 5-7 minutes, one of the employees notices and is confused, calls the manager and now I have two confused people staring at me. They asked me 3 times if I received my good, I said No 3 times. They stare at me as if I'm lying. I Can No Longer Trust Them With My Food. They gave my food to somebody else. They do not check receipts. They hand the food to anybody walks up. They call name orders with their standard voice, even when they're very busy. I cannot comment on the food since I never got any. There hadn't been a Raising Canes Chicken Strips restaurant in the Rio Grande Valley area, at least not that I knew of. Suddenly, a couple of them popped up. One of them is in Weslaco Tx, and this one is is Pharr Tx. I dined in the restaurant once, and the dinning experience was ok. I find the chairs uncomfortable and light, but you can eat fast. The restaurant is a fast food joint with a very focused menu. All they serve is chicken strips. Unlike most other places, the breading on these strips is light and soft, making the chicken not be crunchy, which is a good thing. You get more chicken than you do batter, and that's why we come to eat here, right? Today, I did the drive thru and it was pretty fast, considering there were 5 cars ahead of me. My problem with the drive thru is that the bag and the styrofoam plate they put your food in gets moist with condensation from the hot food. This causes a soggy bread and fries when you get the items to go. I would recommend that the food is wrapped in some sort of paper to protect is from the humidity it forms inside. Every time I go, the tenders get smaller and smaller to the point that you'd be inclined to call these nuggets. For $8, you'd expect larger pieces. As you can see from the pictures, the pieces in my meal are half the size as the ones advertised. I might as well have purchased the kid's meal for $3 less. I was honestly disappointed because while they did have a good crunch in every bite, it was flavorless and was not satisfying to eat. I ate it just because I was hungry. I don't really see why there was a long line in the drive thru! Ironically what I did find to have more flavor was the Canes sauce. That I would buy at the grocery store if it was available. IF I COULD LEAVE A ONE STAR I WOULD! This store was horrific! I pulled up to the drive thru with my free box combo loaded on a reward card. It took them 10 minutes to tell me I didn't have a bod combo loaded so I paid and was told to wait for someone to bring me a fresh box combo. I waited 20 minutes for someone to come out with a COLD box combo. I called customer service in the meantime and was told that I indeed did HAVE A FREE BOX COMBO. The agent over the phone told me the store was incorrectly inputting my card info in. I AM SO FRUSTRATED. I paid for a cold box combo and it took me 40 minutes total to get out of there instead of the normal 5-10. SAVE THE TRIP and bring your business elsewhere. read more

So this is my first time at Raising Cane's although I knew San Antonio had one I hadn't been but I had heard about it from my brother and had driven by. I had my children and their friends so I decided that I would take them to eat here since we had pizza the day before. I got them the kids meal which was a good value but the toy was paper so wound up in the trash. We got the 4 piece and it was enough. I think the 6 piece would be excessive unless you are so hungry that you want to pig out. There are combos with just fries or with fries and coleslaw but you can switch to double fries. I liked both the fries and the coleslaw. Surprisingly the bread was grilled but soft and I loved it. I didn't love or hate the sauce. I alternated between the sauce and ketchup. But the chicken is the star. So moist and tender. I never tasted a better tender/finger. Also the lemonade and the tea is made perfectly. I will be returning as not only was if tasty but it was very affordable. And I know people are complaining about the menu being too simple with your option being fingers or finger sandwich- well that means they are really good at the one thing they serve. I always look at menus before I visit a place to plan. If you don't want to eat tenders then why go to a tender place and if someone doesn't like tenders then eat somewhere else or leave them at home! Just sayin. read more

Excellent chicken and served HOT! I love new restaurants and the start of a new thing. Management and staff seem to work together; friendly, smiling, and faced paced workers. I didn't like the parking too much- I had to drive around to get a spot. LOVE the chicken. Its got a lemony flavor with a thine crunchy batter. TIP: DON'T GET THE SANDWICH. Get the fingers. Love that the Valley got a Raising Cane's! However, I'm sad it had to get here as soon as I head for New Orleans. When the sign says "chicken finger restaurant" please take it at face value: they only serve chicken strips. That's it - no burgers, no salads, nothing except chicken strips. I don't mind that because I think having a tapered, or specialty, selection helps focus a restaurant on really crafting and perfecting that one thing. These are some of the best chicken strips ever! Cane's has mastered the art of the chicken strip. They've perfected the breading to chicken ratio (something many places haven't yet grasped). The chicken meat is juicy and always prepared fresh to order. This food hasn't been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The fries are good as is their coleslaw (from what I have heard, I don't eat coleslaw). Some say it's pricey for fast food, but I'm a quality over quantity type of girl so I'll happily shell out $6 for a Cane's meal. Try the Cane's sauce - peppery, creamy goodness. read more

So...first time here!! I'll be honest, from all the reviews from friends I had high hopes for the food. So what happened? My hopes were slightly deflated. Not saying that it's bad but wasn't as mind blowing as I expected. I ordered the Box combo. 4 tenders, fries, coleslaw, toast, and the infamous sauce. I started with the crinkle cut fries. Eh. Pretty standard flavor. Nicely salted. I dipped in the sauce and still eh. The sauce had a flavor reminiscent of ketchup mixed with a mayo with some seasoned salt. Next the coleslaw. Good but I've had similar tasting coleslaw pretty much anywhere they have coleslaw. The Texas toast actually was really good. Buttery soft and salted. Now the chicken. Juicy, tender, and chicken. I didn't get the allure other than its a finger of chicken and not a sandwich or something with a bone. Dipped in the sauce and still good but my head is intact. Overall I would come back if I was craving boneless chicken but you can keep the coleslaw. It might be a while before I return. read more

I'm only reviewing a fast food place because it is new in the valley. So what they say on the sign is true- they sell chicken fingers, that's it. There is also a chicken finger sandwich. The chicken was good pretty much exactly what you would expect. The crinkle cut fries were decent. My wife liked the Texas toast, I thought it was soggy. The coleslaw was not the best I've had because I didn't finish it. The ice tea was very good. What I did not like is that they only have two kinds of sauce: Cane's sauce and honey mustard- really? No ranch? The food was fine but I didn't think it was better than chicfila next door. Basically Cane's just sort of seems unnecessary. read more

First time here.. I was a little hesitant since a friend had mentioned it was overpriced for what you get.. Honestly food was pretty decent! I really loved the bread, service was fast. Hubby loved the ice tea. The only down I can say is the lack of sauce variety and lack of booths..will definitely head back when craving chicken fingers. The food was good. The chicken strips were real juicy and big. Their special sauce was alright and no they don't offer different flavored sauces. I was not crazy about the toast but it was ok. You can substitute your coleslaw for toast or buy an extra toast for 79 scents if you're buying the six strip serving. Do not ask for anything extra cause they won't give you anything on the house unlike other places. You have to stretch your little loaf over 6 strips. The fries taste like pure grease/oil, I didn't eat them. The coleslaw was the best ive ever had.Their Cane tea and lemonade is very good and the servings are big. The atmosphere is lively but the music was too loud, workers hollering names above the music non stop so trying to have a chat with your companions could be difficult.
