This tortillería offers white/yellow corn tortillas, a variety of freshly made salsas, barbacoa, carnitas, and menudo on the weekends. This place would easily be 5 stars...but the quality of the menudo has dropped. With every order of carnitas or barbacoa, they give you their housemade green and red salsas...my particular fave is the green salsa. It's not spicy...has a nice tang to it...and pairs perfectly with the barbacoa. They also have other salsas: chimichurri, guacamole, habanero... The barbacoa and carnitas don't have much fat on them...and are seasoned well. A half-pound goes down in 2-3 tacos...it is that tasty. But the menudo...about 2 years ago it was perfect. It had the right amount of tripe/corn ratio...the meat was tender and it was trimmed nicely. Recently though, whether I just got a bad batch, or the cook was in a hurry...but twice in a row, the menudo I received was not trimmed well. There was so much fat floating on top...and chunks on the pieces, it was inedible. If I was grading the menudo alone...it would be a 1 star. But considering their tortillas, fresh salsas, combined with their barbacoa and carnitas...they still get 1 star for each item. Just stay away from the menudo...
