This Subway is now reopened under new management. I predict that it won't be open for long. This review isn't about the helpful young lady who tended to me. She did her part and was a pleasure to deal with. For starters, the approximately four inch sub roll was no where nearly the advertised six inches! Unfortunately, it was the highlight of my lunch! Has anyone else noticed that the sub you purchase here doesn't remotely look like the ones they advertise? I even got double extra lettuce and tomato! It still looked tiny. There's a false advertising law suit against Subway presently and I volunteer to be a witness in court! It IRKS me to eat any meal anywhere and leave hungry! I went home and made lunch no.2 ! I'm very disappointed! If I hadn't had a leftover gift card I wouldn't have eaten here or at any other Subway. I haven't had even a reasonably good experience at any Subway in the last ten years! This particular one changes ownership as often as I change my socks. This is the third new ownership that I can remember! I recommend eating here only if you can bring yourself a second lunch! Contrary to the belief of those calling the low-star reviewers "twits," I'm not sure I could even click a single star here. COVID measures are certainly in place with Plexi glass and tables to add distance in front of the order counter; compensation for those measures is lacking: toppings are not labeled so you have to know your order on your own, and the workers do not show the effort to try to understand your order. The food itself is skimpy. It makes me not want to eat at Subway as a whole anymore - small portions of ingredients that are not as fresh as they used to be. Even a small cup of water has to come in the form of a bottle you buy. I suppose it was reasonably clean inside, so that counts for something. Regardless, I would not return or recommend. read more

This was the worst costumer service I received in forever and I used to work at a subway. They misunderstood my order so they decided to charge me for two sandwiches instead of a footlong. Then they told me I'm not allowed to put lettuce on only one half. They said that there boss is watching them and they aren't allowed to put veggies on only half the sandwich. Both employees where trying to prove their point the whole time I had to interact with them. They didn't try to hear and understand my order. Towards the end I felt awkward to add any more veggies. Never ever coming here again. Also bread was old. Place had half the chairs on the tables like they didn't want to clean up the whole place so they will close half of it. read more

This service deserves 0 stars, today I received a some of the absolute worst customer service, the lady behind the counter was making rude comments about the mans sandwich in front of me, saying out loud how disgusting his sandwich looked. And then proceeded to try to talk about him to me. I told her she was being downright rude and she told me thank you for being her new teacher and that I should go back to my trailer. Yelp needs to implement a 0 star rating just for places like this. Considering there's only one review for this place that's good (and considering the reviewer called every one else 'twits'), I'd say that this place deserves to be *shut down*. And this is coming from a former employee, too. This place is dirty, and the manager is absolutely *HORRID*. She cusses employees out (in front of customers, no less), yells at customers, and demands the employees make the subs as skimpy as possible. You know how many olives go on a sub according to her? 6!!! 6 olives on one sub! She's insane. They're dirty and do little to keep the food fresh. This place is all around horrible. Absolutely horrible. If you're really craving subway, swing down to the one in the gas station across from Chik Fi La near Wal-Mart. I've been there several times and they always deliver. Alright, I've come to this Subway enough to be the duke (as of writing this). Let me first start off by saying, unless something really big changes at this Subway, I will never return. Pros: - It's on the south side of Gaffney, and is reasonably healthy (not much else to compete with but a Burger King, Starbucks, and Arby's) Cons: - The quality of the bread is borderline stale every, single, time. How is this possible?! Do they bake the bread the night before and leave it out? This is atrocious. - The subs are made sloppy. These employees just don't seem to care. - The nickel and dime moments are atrocious. A cup of water costs 40 cents?! For what!? And there's tax on the cup! - Overcharging for a meal deal by ringing it up as separate items, and claiming the meal deal isn't valid, despite the sign next to the register saying exactly what you purchased is the deal. - Perhaps the WORST feature of this subway is the staff. Almost all of the negatives (poor sub building, not listening to requests, mumbling, stale bread, etc) come from the employees just not caring. On top of that, they're just plain unfriendly. It's really awful to feel like you're inconveniencing someone by trying to get your lunch from them for something they're being paid to do. Seriously, don't bother with this Subway, it would do these people a world of good to be fired. read more

I eat at this subway at least once a week but will not eat there again until the staff learns some customer service. Tonight, the extremely rude lady running the register fussed at the employees and argued with four of the six customers I saw served. My daughter who is a college student in SC went through the drive thru of this Subway. She attempted to pay for her food but her card was decline. In a panic, she picked up the phone and called us to transfer money to her account. This transfer takes place almost instantly. She was embarrassed and nervous. So she sat there waiting in the drive thru. By the time the transfer was made which was approx 2 to 3 mins, the rude manager, who told me his name was Powell when I call the next day, referred to her as "you people". He said you people think the money is going to magically appear. The next morning when I spoke with him, I couldn't get a word in because he just out talked me. I'm not sure what his issue is but I have informed my daughter never to return to that Subway. After reading other reviews, it seems that most other people who have written reviews feel similiar about the staff. Under his leadership, the staff probably has no other choice but to act accordingly. Subway should consider NEW MANAGEMENT and send this guy to charm school. I gave up trying to talk to him. He wouldn't let me get a sentence out. I'm thinking about having the college post this on their social media accounts. Not but one positive post before mine. We visited this Subway on a drive from the Triangle region of NC to Atlanta, GA- Gaffney is a nice midway point. My spouse and I are big Subway fans and we usually enjoy the reliably healthy options and friendly service we've experienced at other locations. Not so at the Gaffney Subway. Our main irritation has been noted in others' reviews: the staff were rude and inconsiderate. Asked if they carried the Boca-like veggie patty available at other locations, the server rolled her eyes and replied flatly, "We don't have that." When we requested "nine grain bread," she looked irritated and said, "You mean wheat?" The sandwich maker sneezed into her forearm and continued adding meager, anemic toppings to our sandwich as if the sneeze was part of her sandwich making routine. And how inhospitable is it to charge 40 cents for a diminutive plastic cup for water?! After purchasing our sandwiches, I returned to the register to ask for a cup to fill with water. The fountain drink cups were almost within reach but I thought it better to get the salesperson's attention, as I know some restaurants are funny about letting folks use soda cups for water. Two employees were in the back, chatting and ignoring me. When one of them noticed me, I called out, "Hey, can I have a cup for water?" and - I kid you not - without approaching or rising from her seated position, the sneezing server shouted back, "They're forty cents, and they're smaller than the regular cups!" Maybe it's our lingering resentment, but it's been five or six days since our visit to Gaffney's Subway and both my spouse and I have been experiencing daily stomachaches. We are convinced that unsanitary conditions and employee carelessness conspired to give us mild food poisoning. This is my first review of any restaurant or business on google or yelp. Service was slow to begin with, but then a small angry woman while chewing her food came to the register to ring someone else up. Coughed all over the place then told my sandwich artist that I needed to pay for 2 6" subs if they are dressed the same way. With such anger and malice like I was i was trying to steal the $.37 difference and take her livelihood. Fine, I understand but don't yell at and belittle your employees in front of the customers for doing what Your customer asked them to do.i was just trying to get what my picky 3 yr old wanted to eat.
