I had pretty much decided not to write additional reviews about anywhere that I'd already done one because of Yelp's policy of not adding them to our totals. What's the incentive other than feeling compelled to do so? Nevertheless, this is about my lunch experience here. I enjoyed the company of my daughter and infant grandson! I gave her the option of picking out a place to eat. She loves Firehouse Subs! Myself, I don't as I've never had a good experience at one. Today's no exception! Now these are teenage girls running this place and I'm not going to make it personal or verbally beat them up. I did the build your own sub option. I carefully gave my instructions twice. They got it wrong; again! I'm not the least bit upset because even after failing to follow my instructions the sub was reasonably good! Counter to my instructions; it was heated! I did not get extra oil and vinegar as requested. I did not get extra lettuce and tomatoes. After repeating my instructions, I'm at a loss as how to get them to conform! I could have gotten two whole subs at Ingles deli. for what this mistake cost! Plus at ingles I can watch and instruct the sub maker. You cannot do this at Firehouse! Will i return; not of my own free will. But if my daughter wanted to go again; I would! Because I'm her Daddy! read more

We stopped for gas and a stretch on our drive from NC to AL. Our Firehouse Subs in Huntsville is very hit or miss so we rarely go there. For some reason, the nondescript Gaffney Firehouse called to us. We weren't sure it was open - the windows were darkened and we couldn't see anyone inside but the open sign was on so we stiffly exited the car and hobbled in. We were pleasantly greeted as we were immediately waited on. Even though there was a bit of an after-church crowd, we still got our sandwiches quickly. Hubs and I shared a large Firehouse Hero. Honey ham, turkey and roast beef warmed to not quite hot. It was huge - we really should have gotten a medium - he had to finish mine. We got the 83 pound MIL a kids meal - it was small, probably too small for anyone over 6 but she barely finished it (oh don't get me started about trying to get this 88 year old to eat). Anyway, our sandwich was very good - something I'd definitely order again. The restaurant, while not immaculate, was quite clean - a far cry from what I'm used to at home. Maybe my local Firehouse has improved - that sandwich was good enough to give my store another try. read more

To whomever is responsible for scheduling the staff: DO NOT put the three who were working at 12:30 on Saturday afternoon together again. Zero conversation (with each other or with customers); ZERO. It was actually weird how devoid of expression each of them was capable of being. When no customers were at the counter, the three disappeared into the back...every.single.time! Our subs were missing ingredients and condiments, but there was no one available to whom we could mention this. It was, all in all, a sad experience. read more

Why can't these guys be everywhere instead of Subway?!?!?! Love the food and stop when I can. The crew at this store is incredible! More smiles than you'll know what to do with and very professional. I forgot to look at the name tags while here today, but they were all great! Store and restrooms were very clean. Price point is far better than Subway, as is the quality. Staff seemed friendly but I ordered a "build your own sandwich" only to be told that they put cheese on it no matter if I ordered it or not. ZERO LOGIC behind that process especially when I didn't ask for cheese. They remade it and it was fine. Then the coke machine broke. Store manager below was literally beating the screen and slamming the doors on the unit because it wasn't working in a store full of customers. I love firehouse subs. My family placed an order for four subs and the bread was stale for all of them. The turkey bacon ranch wasn't dressed appropriately and was very dry. They also place 3 napkins in the bag for our four subs. This location needs some refresher training. read more

I came here on a road trip with GSU tennis team. The place was very friendly and clean. The food came out relatively fast, and the servers were very nice to everyone. I've not been to a ton of different Firehouse locations but this felt like the biggest store I've ever been in before. Stopped on a road trip so I could avoid McDonalds or other burger options. The place was packed with a lunchtime crowd but my sub came out in what felt like a reasonable amount of time. Word to the wise... The subs are good but a sub is NOT the best option to eat on the road! read more

Been there a few times, the food is always good quality, the dining area is clean and the people are friendly. I know I will pay $10 for a sub , drink, and chips. I will go back, I like the subs. I just wonder why they show a meatball sandwich for $6 with chips and a drink and you order it with chips and drink and it's $8.88. I just looked at my receipt and saw the $6 sub was actually $6.19. Your pricing scheme is confusing. Just figure $10 a person, no matter what you order. read more

Normally, we love to eat at firehouse subs. But this particular location did NOT lend to us the experience we have grown to appreciate from others. The crew was sloppy and very poorly executing orders. The cashier had mayo on her face and was cleaning her teeth from her recent meal. Every single individual in the restaurant had not received their meal yet, and we counted 20 very upset people. After waiting a while and seeing order after order go out an then get returned to be re-done because it was made incorrectly, we decided to just ask for our money back because we didn't want to wait. When we asked for a refund, the manager handed us our money without saying a word, much less an apology. Not impressed. read more

My wife recommended I try this sub restaurant and I did, thinking it would be just another overpriced place to buy subs. I will say as a Louisiana boy that knows his po-boy these folks surprised me. They had great service, they suggest the toppings on unfamiliar sandwiches, and the sandwiches themselves were AWESOME. My steak and cheese hit the spot and the portion was large enough that I took half of it back to the hotel and ate it later. I've been in this restaurant twice in two weeks and came away disappointed both times. First, two weeks ago I was asked my name and replied Cary and somehow it got converted to Kaye, so they're shouting Kaye to pick up a sandwich and the whole time I am standing there.. My office is about 15 miles away and I had ordered a turkey sandwich, but when I got back to work, it was a ham sandwich, which I seldom eat. I gave it to a friend to keep from it being wasted, but had to buy another lunch. Today I go in and ask for no onion on the turkey sandwich, drive back to work, and there it is, three big slices of onion which has permeated the smell throughout the sandwich. I tried to eat it and not waste food, but I have meetings with parents later on and I don't have a toothbrush at work to get the taste out of my mouth.
