For all you Krystal lovers I do not recommend this location. Myself and three other cars waiting in the drive-through for 15 minutes. No one ever came to the intercom so we decided to go in went inside. The cook looked like he's high off meth. All of the tables were filthy flies flying around everywhere. Location does not accept cash. I asked the cashier why don't they put up a sign letting everyone know that the drive-through is down she said it's not down, No one wants to put on the headsets. Staff members are rude turning multiple customers down because they didn't feel like making food. I highly don't recommend this location. They actually need to shut the location down. read more

#4/2025 It's a full-service Krystal inside circle k. It's had its ups and downs through the years for a long time. It's not great it's average. This is really a two and a half star review but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because they were doing the best they could on the day that I came in that evening. I ordered just a standard #1 for crystals with cheese plain. French fries and drink. One thing I didn't like is the fact they didn't have chili that's one thing I like about Krystal they have great chili I asked a girl to behind the counter she's like we haven't had chili for quite some time but she didn't say if they can get rid of it for good or not or what the deal is but I didn't question it I wasn't in a good mood to begin with. But service can be a little sketchy here depending on the day and the quality of the food could be a little sketchy here depending on the day. The burgers were fresh but they weren't real hot. The fries were okay. Unless I was just parked here for the night sleeping at the circle k in the trucking area I don't think I would risk make a special trip off the interstate just to come in here to eat this one though. read more

my expectations began low when I went into this location. It was 1045a and the breakfast menu was still displayed. I asked about lunch service and was told "We have burgers". I ordered 24 to go and waited 15 minutes for my order. Two employees were overwhelmed by two customers. A third customer stood at the counter for ten minutes with no acknowledgment. The location was short staffed but Chef Edwin made the experience great. I am a LONG time Krystal fan but do not live near a location so was thrilled to find one one our travel route. Been a long time since I have had a mini burger or slider. Used to go to White Castle when I lived in an area were they had stores. Never tried Krystal but I pass several between Cornelius and the Atlanta area when I go down to see the Grandkids. After leaving Atlanta last Sunday, with a late start, it was apparent I would not make it back to Cornelius before 7:30 pm so I decided that I was going to finally give Krystal a try. Going north on I-85 around 6:30pm traffic came to a virtual standstill but no problem, I was going to get off anyway and give Krystal a try. I think that that was something Exit 96. Well I going to have to wait till a later date to give Krystal a try. Pull around the gas station to the drive through and as I was pulling up to the intercom, the car ahead of me was pulling up. They pulled to the end of the building which is where the line to the pickup resumed. The woman came on the intercom " One Minute Please" to which I said " No Problem". A short time later she came back on the intercom and said, " One Minute Please". I replied " I already said OK, No Problem" to which she said "I didn't hear you" and I said "OK" again. That would have been OK except she never came back on the line. The car that was just ordered before I got there had not moved. There were now 4 cars lined up behind me. I finally pulled away and picked up something to eat in Kings Mountain and while I may be mistaken, the car that was at the pickup window when I came in, was still there. Luckily, this location the closest one to Charlotte so it is "just" far enough where it makes me think about my life choices. On a recent trip to Atlanta, I made a stop here on my way back to Charlotte, and it was heaven. I used the drive thru so I didn't dine in. Just be careful as this location is a gas station as well. Krystal seems to have lots of fans who get a substantial feeling of nostalgia when they eat here. Based on those reviews one of my boys and I decided to give them a try for lunch. I do like the concept of sliders and the idea of being able to get a meal with four of them for right at $6 is great. This particular location is attached to a gas station. It is fairly small. Let's cover the positives first. Our food was prepared quickly and was hot. Wow! The tater tots were fantastic - crispy, hot and not greasy. The fries were also tasty and a pretty large portion. The color of the meat of the regular Krystal burgers was grey and kind of threw me off. It was a bit unappealing. I'm not sure if they were steamed to finish them off or what gave them that color. I enjoyed that they had mustard and onions but the flavor (of the meat) was unexpected and a bit unusual. I did like the ones with bacon and cheese, they were way more palatable and obviously had more flavor. So, as a Krystal first timer, I though it was okay - but not totally impressed. I would definitely come back for the tots but not so sure about the rest. But hey, if that's what you like, eat it!!! read more

Every single time we go through the drive thru it's always a challenge. Even between 8 and 10 pm we are told "oh we are closed". It's quite frustrating, as online says 24 hours. I understand online hours change but tonight was the last straw as they have pulled this so may times. We were in line. The people before us got food. We tried to talk to the drive through speakers and no luck. We waited, as we understood they must be busy. We waited over 10 minutes and finally drove through. We get to the window and the lady said we're closed and no one said anything at the window. We tried many times to speak. All the lights were on and also guess what, it says they are open on multiple sources online. Clearly the staff is focused on getting shut down before the time that is determined (not sure by them or management since times online are 24 hours). We have been there even later and n a Saturday and been served. Seems like a random schedule. Overall annoyed by having the excitement of going to a Krystal burger and always being disappointed, mostly by hours not being stable or them being communicative. While we don't have any whitecastles nearby their redneck cousin krystal does the trick. They may seem a little pricey for what you're getting. I think the krystal slider is .79 and the other places you can get a dollar menu burger that would cast shadows over these little sliders but the taste can't compare. I don't really stray from the sliders and fries, if I wanted a dog or larger burger or chicken sandwich I'd go somewhere else. This location is great being right next to the highway so it don't take long to hop off and grab a few then get back down the road. The times I've been to this location and they're busy they kinda remind me of Walmart cashiers. No matter how long the line they don't seem to move any faster. Krystal's is one of those greasy little steam hamburger restaurants that used to be super popular, and then just sort of felt out of vogue. They're great though when you're looking for that greasy little fix of a fluffy bun, a greasy wafter thin piece of burger, something that may or may not entirely be cheese, and some onions and pickles. Pros: - The greasy little hamburgers are really addictive with that gooey cheese and steamed bun consistency. 4 bites til they're gone, but they come in 4 packs with a drink and fries for not a lot of cash so it's an experience like eating Pringles to an extent. - Service is fast and friendly - The restaurant looks clean. Cons: - Gas station restaurants. There's nothing wrong with these inherently, but the feeling like you're eating in a mini-mart is uncomfortable. - There's a lot of grease, but not as much flavor as this quantity of grease normally implies. It's slightly bland. Overall, it's good for a quick bite, but those with a weak stomach or looking for healthier choices should probably keep moving. read more

I heard about this place about 3 years ago from some co workers. I'm from NJ so I love White Castle and they claimed this place to be just like it so I had to try them out when I could. Fast fwd 3 years later and here I am finally and it's pretty good. It's not exactly like White Castle but it's pretty close. The flavor is a little different. White Castle standard set up is burger, pickles, grilled onions with or without cheese on a steamed bun. Krystal's is almost the same but no onions and mustard instead of ketchup. It will cure my White Castle craving when I get one. The particular one is attached to a rest stop gas station. It's pretty clean, the service was good and they're open late. Stopping here is always a must when we're heading south on I-85 from Charlotte. It's at Exit 96 and attached to a gas station way off the highway, so it can be easily missed. Burgers are always good, as is the service. You cannot go wrong with their original Krystal burgers or cheeseburgers. The fries are good but not as good as they used to be. Haven't tried anything else because we're creatures of habit. They do have chicken sliders and I'm pretty sure hot dog sliders. Seating consists of several tables. This was my first time at a Krystal's restaurant. My boyfriend and I stopped here on our road trip to Georgia. We both ordered #1's. 4 Krystal burgers, fries and a fountain drink. Not being a fan of onions, I requested my Krystal burgers to be without them. My boyfriend and I both utilized the restrooms and bought a a Monster from the conjoining gas station convenience store and waited another 5 minutes for our meals to be ready. The employee was kind enough to come around the counter and hand us our orders. She handed me my bag and said, "No onions." We thanked her and decided to eat in our car, because we were traveling with our dog. Upon taking a Krystal burger out of its packaging, I noticed the bun was soggy and a few onions were stuck in the cheese. I opened it to make sure there were none in my burger, and thankfully there were not. Opening the Krystal I noticed the patty was a grayish color. Before I could complain to my boyfriend he declared, "Jesus! How much mustard can one Krystal have?" Apparently, mustard was seeping out of his Krystal on all four sides and dripping into his bag. Same went for the remaining 3 Krystal's. He, too, had soggy buns and grayish colored patties. On the upside, the fries were divine. Fresh, hot and salty. For Krystal, I was very impressed by the cleanliness and friendliness of the store. It is connected to the kangaroo gas station that is also very well-maintained with clean bathrooms. They have a five for five special and you can mix-and-match chicken, burgers or shrimp sandwiches with drinks or chili. The tables were clean.
