I hadn't eaten since breakfast so I was wildly ready for this meal. But nothing prepared me for what I saw when they called my name when my order was ready... I stuck my fork into the fries first, golden brown and smothered in bacon and cheese. The second my fork broke the surface, clouds of steam rose off, as they were piping hot. The burger, nestled in a half rap of chef's paper, screamed at me the dive into, which I did immediately. A few minutes and a few pictures in, I questioned whether I could finish everything but as you can see from the final photograph it was really never in question. The hot soups, especially the crab soup on Fridays are delicious. Everything we've ordered has been fresh and tasty. They also offer gluten free bread choices, which is appreciated. When I placed a GF order the store actually called to let me know how they would be preparing the GF items to avoid cross contamination. Nothing sexy about either of them but both were well made and packed with plenty of flavor. As I mentioned, I placed an order on the website and got the order to go. You can also eat in, seasonally outside, walk in and take it to go, etc. The only real slight negative would be that if you did place an online order, the area where you pick it up is not intuitively placed and you will need to ask if you've never been there before, and yes, some of the staff here are a bit shall we say, prickly towards questions or people that doddle too long at the counter making choices. Overall ST&M was very good and I will be back. Note that they are M-F only with no weekend hours.

At 12:50 (noted as 12:42 on the paper receipt), I finally placed an order through the app. After another five minutes, I called out to the speaker and they said they were shorthanded. It took another 20 minutes to get my food. I kept watching people drive off. I'm diabetic and decided to stick it out because I needed food. When I got to the window, I was told the location didn't have what I ordered. I took a less expensive meal just so I could get my lunch and get back to work. I understand staffing is an issue, but a failure to acknowledge people at the speaker is not well done at all. This location services two hospitals, credit union, and a lot of other people. If they do not have the staff to keep this location running, they either need to make it drive-thru only or close the store entirely. This isn't fair to all the people trying to get food in a limited amount of time. It's also not fair to the employees. Burger King needs to fix this.

Back on the hunt for food, I stumbled across Got Jerk Island Grill and Juice Bar in Midtown Harrisburg. The moment I walked in, it felt like I was teleported straight into the heart of Jamaica. Caribbean vibes everywhere -- lounge chair up front, Bob Marley on the walls, and a laid‑back atmosphere that made me feel like I should've had a coconut water in my hand. I talked to the chef and told him to give me his best dish. He served me curry chicken, rice and beans, sweet plantains, and cabbage. I have to say -- it was the best curry chicken I've ever had. The chicken was tender, cut perfectly, and shredded apart in my mouth. It fell right off the bone, and the curry had just the right amount of spice so you could still enjoy the full flavor of the meal. That's when I knew the chef knew exactly what he was doing and chose the right cut of meat.
